Mission: Founded in 2010, noor's mission is to support, develop and produce the work of theatre artists of middle eastern descent. Meaning "light" in arabic and farsi, noor aims to illuminate diverse perspectives to foster greater understanding and diversify america's rich theatrical tapestry. Noor is a company-in-residence at the award-winning new york theatre workshop, which provides artistic and organizational support to further the company's development. Www. Noortheatre. Org.
Programs: Highlight reading series: each fall hire professional actors to read a play in development for an audience of patrons interested in hearing work we consider pertinent and engaging. Three readings reached an audience totaling approximately 200 people. We also served approximately 20 artists, providing them space to network, perform, and continue to develop their talent and skills.

48 hour forum: serves 35 artists and 180 audience members. Artists have 48 hours to create new works around the pertinent news subjects of the day.
