Mission: To strengthen, and support the nigerian and american communities in houston through education, mentorship and interactions of professionals, young adults, youth and families by the encouragement and creation of entrepreneurship, employment, exchange programs, arts and cultural activities, and other opportunities both in america and nigeria.
Programs: Career discovery for high school students - a mentorship program that brings together a diverse panel of young professions to expose high school students to a wide range of careers and foster mentorship relationships between high school students and young professionals.
college readiness program for high school students - a community development program featuring admissions offers from flagship texas universities and rich discussions between college and high school students on the college entrance experience and college life. Students that attend are provided with tips on the college admissions process and college readiness.
executive roundtable series for young professionals - a professional development series that provides young professionals (yp) a quarterly forum to interact with senior african (and other) executives in their industry in an informal environment to learn how these successful executives were able to reach the top of their careers. These series enable the young professionals to expand their professional networks, receive career insights, and develop mentorship relationships.
festival of african arts culture and entertainment (afrifest) - the objective of afrifest is to introduce and connect houstonians to the people, arts and culture of africa by bringing all groups of african descent together to share our culture with the houston community.
