The absolute majority of such tests are conducted within the privacy and comfort of the beneficiaries own home, through the home visit programme instituted by housing for hiv. 500 beneficiaries are currently receiving appropriate care, ranging from highly active anti-retroviral treatment (haart) to post exposure prophylaxis (pep), fully funded in all spheres by the foundation, while a further 199 beneficiaries are being supported by managed treatment programmes, the pharmaceutical costs of which are being covered by one or more private health care insurers. Grant payments continue to be made on a quarterly distribution based on anticipated incurred costs during the course of the year ended 06-30-2013. A further $1,581,500 grant was approved for distribution.
