Each new musical's presentation serves as a truncated commercial for the show. Since the series' inception,theatre barn has presented over 300 writers in more than 75 concerts, and has amassed a catalog of more than 750 videos and more than 600,000 views on our youtube channel. The choreography lab - a bi-monthly platform for theatrical choreographers to explore work at all stages of development. The lab supports and offers emerging musical theatre choreographers an arena to develop their storytelling abilities. New musical development - the com;any continues to incubate the work of three new musicals that tell untold stories and challenge the boundaries of musical theatre storytelling. Small town story (national alliance for musical theatre's writers residency grant, featured in seattle's village theatre's festival of new musicals) -commissioned and conceived by the company about two families in a conservative north texas town who stuggle with a community battle ignited by a controversial high school production of the musical rent. The boy who danced on air - the intimate all-male musical (featured in the 2013 national alliance for musical theatre's festival of new musicals) set in the dark world of the dancing boys of afghanistan. Tiananmen - follows the story of the 1989 tiananmen square protests in beijing. The score uses rock music to convey viscerally the excitment, optimisn and anxieties of the democratic student movement. The piece is currently in development with broadway director stafford armina and the broadway actors telly leung and ruthie ann miles.
