Mission: New pathways inc. Is a community-based corporation that provides a range of services to disconnected youth, ages 16-24, living in the baltimore metropolitan area. Services include case management, counseling, pre-employment preparation and job readiness skills, job placement, job retention, life skills, parenting skills, housing support and education. The organization's mission is to offer disconnected youth a pathway to successful adulthood.
Programs: Independence plus - provides structured, independent, apartment-based independent living for single foster care and juvenile services youth between the ages of 17-21, with wrap around services provided by a trained team of social workers, community support specialists, and job coaches.
second generations - provides structured, apartment-based independent living for pregnant and parenting foster care and juvenile services youth between the ages of 16-21. Included in this program are wrap-around services provided by a trained team of social workers, community support specialists, parenting educators and job coaches.
community services - provides a range of case management, homeless support services, pre-employment training, job placement, academic and career development, life skills education, and certificate training to disconnected youth in the greater baltimore metropolitan area.

I was introduced to New Pathways through a project for my school. I was incredibly impressed with how each member of the New Pathways board thoroughly utilizes their own life experiences, and their expertise from their professional life to enhance the program. The change that New Pathways creates in the world is of benefit to all! By helping young adults who are transitioning out of foster care (as well as other "at risk" young adults) learn important life skills, as well as providing an independent living situation, New Pathways is helping to make their clients responsible, self-reliant, and successful people.
I feel lucky to have had the opportunity to work with such an amazing organization, and hopefully assist with their future success.
