Causes: Food, Food Programs
Mission: The organization supports new mexico's local food system by providing public education, developing and supporting food assistance and nutrition programs, and providing technical assistance to communities supporting farmers markets.
Programs: The nmfma provides public education to the communities of new mexico about locally grown food. This includes publications, newspaper columns, electronic media, workshops and presentation to the public. In addition the organization has a nutrition outreach program including wic farmers' market nutrition program, senior farmers' market nutrition program and supplemental nutrition assistance program among others. It also provides technical assistance to farmers' markets throughout the state by providing workshops and training for the farmers and an annual conference for the market managers.
