Mission: The national albanian american council (the council) has been established with the purpose to nurture and to advance the good relationship between the united states, albania, and the ethnic albanian population in the balkans and the albanian diaspora. The objective is to strengthen and promote their mutual ideals and interests in accordance with the views of the council's members. In carrying out these tasks, the council shall remain an independent organization and represent only the views of its members.
Programs: Hope fellowship - through the hope fellowship program, the council's goals are to: strengthen institutional partnerships with civil society by increasing public participation in governmental processes, strengthen in-country human capital, increase inter-ethnic cooperation, and increase regional stability and cross-border cooperation by sharing best practices on leadership, advocacy, youth, anti-corruption, and management and communications issues. Both program goals will contribute towards the u. S. Agency for international development (usaid) strategic objectives in the balkans and, in particular, will feed those supporting organizations related to developing democratic institutions, increasing the involvement of citizens in political, economic and social decision-making, and developing effective partnerships between government and civil society.
