For the last 12 years, I have been practicing everyday techniques (breathing and meditation) learnt through IAHV, it has made tremendous improvement to my state of mind. I feel more mindful, self-aware, confident from within which helps me to achieve success in the outside world effortlessly. I highly recommend IAHV.
I’ve been donating to IAHV programs for many years. Their selfless attitude to serve humanity touched my heart. Be it River Rejuvenation, Afforestation, Renewable Energy, Covid Relief or any other service project, it transforms lives. They do timely, impactful, and grassroots disaster relief around the world.
Take an example of River Rejuvenation - I was so amazed to see that 41 RIVERS REJUVENATED, 52,00,000 PEOPLE BENEFITTED, 29,912 SQ KM land was CULTIVATED and 4 STATES ACROSS INDIA were served. What a project and what a transformation, just awesome.
Consistently high impact services delivered in each project undertaken, surprisingly less overhead expense for the depth and extent of work they do. As a frequent donor to several non-profits, have worked closely with the various teams in various projects to get reports of ground level work happening and am consistently impressed at how amazing and dedicated their volunteers are, I am yet to see an organisation with more effective service and impact at the grassroots!
My children learned the relaxation techniques offered by IAHV and they really enjoyed the sessions. The teachers are very enthusiastic and truly care about developing the children's inner strength, leadership ability, resilience, and personal success. The classes are a gift, and I'm so grateful that these wonderful resources are available to my children during their developmental years and especially during these challenging times. I love that the classes also encourage them to be of service to others and that they are already thinking about how they can help their community at such a young age.
IAHV is truly a remarkable organization. Its mission --- "Creating a stress-free, violence-free" society" is apt and timely in today's world. Its unique approach to fulfill this mission --- empowering every individual with practical tools to manage their mind and stress, cultivating inner peace in every person --- has brought transformation to individuals and communities across color lines, social economic class, and religious affiliations. These tools have made peace and love a practical living experience, rather than just an abstract philosophy for millions around the world. In war-torn Iraq, in the prisons of South Africa, in rural India, and in the inner city schools of the United States, the workshops delivered by IAHV volunteers brought peace soldiers, prisoners, farmers, students, women, and harmony to regions/communities in conflict. IAHV is a beacon of light that has illumined for us how to live up to our humanitarian promises, our true human values.
I volunteer for IAHV and have been part of their Cities4Peace initiative, working with civic leaders, law enforcement officials, non profit executives, formerly incarcerated social change activists and more. I was part of projects including the LAPD and former gang members and improving community police relations and the work was beyond gratifying.
IAHV is a bright sun shining through the darkness, bringing light to the world!!! I cannot thank them enough.
I’ve been donating to IAHV programs for over 10 years. They do timely, impactful, and grassroots disaster relief around the world. In addition, I’m really impressed by their programs that focus on mental health and wellbeing for different special groups like vets, college students, prisoners. I love the focus on human values and trauma relief, and how they inspire participants to become leaders and change makers in their community. IAHV volunteers are dedicated to uplifting society. I highly recommend this org.
What a powerful organization. Both my teenagers have taken the SKY Teens course through IAHV. They learned effective and immediate tools to handle stressful situations and everyday anxiety. I saw positive changes immediately after the first night of the course and they both still use the tools they learned in the SKY Teens course to help manage the pressures of school.
I have been volunteering with IAHV organization for over 5 plus years. I teach wellness and restorative practices in schools in Bay Area, California that promote a Healthy Body& a Positive Mindset. We use targeted breathing practices to reduce stress, manage emotions and process trauma.
I love the impact I am able to have on students since they have more academic and social pressure then ever before. I am grateful that thru this organization, I am able to reach a lot of children, especially during and post pandemic times, this work has been more fulfilling and rewarding..
The organisation builds and supports large pool of volunteers from different walks of life and backgrounds who are coming together to support society at different levels. I have been honoured to lead the kids and youth stress relief programs for the kids and the youth as a volunteer for several years now and have enjoyed being part of the organisation.
I volunteer and donate to many organizations. What I like about IAHV is the commitment to serving and the extreme focus on being judicious with money and goods : making sure these reach the people in need instead of staying with the organization itself.
IAHV is a fantastic organization focused on service, leadership, and mental wellness. I have loved volunteering for this organization because it has given me the opportunity to work with kids and college students by giving them tools to de-stress and become leaders in their communities.
I've had the opportunity to work directly as a volunteer and staff with dozens of NGO's in the last 20 years, focusing on community development, education, and youth empowerment. The experiencing of working with IAHV has been truly unique and inspiring. Rarely do you find an organization where everyone in the room is there for the same reason, committed fully in service, dedicated to creating stress-free, violence-free communities. As the organization has grown and brought on more and more expertise and leaders with specialized experience, it's remarkable how the culture has remained one of service-leaders, driven by their cause, but committed to the culture. it continues to be an honor to serve with this community of volunteer minded professionals, and see the scale of the services expand by the day!

I have been involved with the organization since 2019, first as a teacher aide and now as a full time teacher. Over the years I have seen the impact the SKY breathing techniques have had on the students in elementary, middle and high schools. The students often shared how the techniques helped them calm down during stressful situations related to either academics, social interactions, or home environment. They were very grateful for the tools they received to handle stressful situations, since nowhere in their regular curicullum were these important life skills taught to handle, people, situations and emotions. The program is beautifully balanced to ensure a robust curriculum with emphasis on research based techniques for a healthy body, healthy mind and a healthy lifestyle.

As our kids grow into into teens our curriculum teaches them everything about human growth and development but does not teach these young and impressionable teens anything about human values that is so innate to all humans. International Association for Human Values fills an important void in shaping a teens character by giving them valuable tools to deal with personal and induced stress and which in enables them to reflect the basic human values. The methodology, tools and techniques offered by IAHV YES for Schools (Youth Empowerment Seminar) program is very unique and has a broad appeal and a wide impact.
This non-profit is amazing! As a volunteer instructor, I have seen first hand what a program like the YES ( Youth Empowerment Seminar ) does for high school students. I cannot put into words what transformation can take place after a student completes the program. I see a lot of students come to the program stressed, anxious, and sad. These are tough times we are living in, they are bombarded with stressors from academics, family challenges, and social media pressures. And now on top of this COVID! Now imagine them practicing powerful breathing techniques and learning impactful life skills to manage their emotions and situations. Well, when you see them after the program, they are beaming with hope, self-confidence, and are empowered to make of their lives whatever they want. That is the magic of YES! Hats off to IAHV for having such an outstanding program for teens. I am so proud to be a volunteer here and wish their work spreads to youth all over the world.
IAHV makes the world a better place thanks to the commitment of it’s volunteer base. Their vision, strategy and implementation of stress reduction programs are in line with core human values of wisdom & compassion serving 150 countries. IAHV funds trauma relief for our prisons, veterans & at natural disasters worldwide. YES! for Schools empowers students, teachers and parents to experience a culture of peace. As a volunteer, IAHV matches your highest calling in life.
IAHV has been doing amazing work all across the globe in many fields. Their selfless service in various disaster management and trauma relief programms (such as in Haiti, Tsunam hit Regions etc), prisoners rehabilitation etc are highly appreciated. Stress relief workshop that they teach are helping individuals get out of depressed lifestyle and contribute to the society.

I worked as a volunteer for some IAHV projects . All the projects are aimed towards creating a better today and tomorrow. IAHV has worked in gamut of areas such as disaster management, trauma relief, women empowerment and many other educational projects. I am extremely grateful to be associated with IAHV.
Well It is something that the world have no idea. Yes I am talking about Bangladesh. When I started to work in rural area and i became surprised that being Bangladeshi I have no idea that how people suffer and there is no rights at all.I am very glad to join this forum and feeling i am not alone ,Whole over tha world is with me. I am asking to all please find out the reality and help the people in Bangladesh to be educated and give them at least minimum rights....
Have been volunteering with this organization for several years. It is doing great humanitarian work across globe.
Review from Guidestar
This organization and its founder has contributed a lot in the lives of public across the globe. I have been associate with the activities since 1997 and found the best by all professional standards.
Review from Guidestar
I have been donating to IAHV for several years. I have met several volunteers and have been really touched by the dedication and commitment. It is one of the few organizations which offer holistic solutions to issues we are facing today. And also most of the contrubution goes to the project and only few %goes to administration.
I'm frequent donor for their children education program. I've visited the schools and seen the progress in under privileged children, whose no prior generations had any education. The schools are very clean, food is very healthy, and really makes smart and brilliant students. One most wonderful aspect about this organization is they are completely run by volunteers and therefore their administrative costs are low turning most of your donations into direct benefit to the society.
IAHV has played a major role in transforming my and my friends life through the techniques and processes they taught us. I have the courage now to handle any tough situation in my life with smile and ease. It has restored the peace in life for me and several others. IAHV is doing an amazing job for the community, saved many lives, brought happiness to several homes and families.
IAHV has been doing great work for many years. My kids have benefited tremendously by doing their breathing courses (art EXCEL). The organization is run by volunteers and the money raised by course fees is used for society in general and veterans and prison inmates in particular. Please look in to supporting this organization.
The most striking thing about this organization and one that gives instant credibility to it, is that its entirely volunteer-run and I think mostly volunteer funded also. So literally these people are devoting their time and money to see a better world come about. In fact that's one of the teachings of the programs- to put yourself in service to others for true happiness.
On the downside, because its all voluntary, sometimes things can get a little mismanaged. Just a tad, but still impressive to see (and be a part of) all that gets done.
On a personal note, I have found lot of love and direction through this organization
During our current time you don't know who to trust and are not sure where your money is going. This is a group you can trust who does great work and is dedicated to make a difference in the world. I wish there were more organizations like IAHV. Making positive changes in the lives of our youth today, Veterans, people in need, the list goes on.....
My 8 year old took Art Excel Course through IAHV and I see tremendous changes in him. I see him more calmer, responsible, loving, giving and happy! The breathing technique that he has learned has been of great use because whenever things don't go well at school, he comes home and directly goes to his bedroom and does the technique. It calms his mind and helps him with his emotional suffering! He later shares with me what happened and he himself tells me the solution to deal with it! Its so amazing to see your child taking action in a positive and healthy way! I am glad that I know this organization because it teaches a child to fish rather than giving a fish :)
Love,
Happy Parent
IAHV has helped my child blossom incredibly. She has repeated
The same ART EXCEL program for kids 5 times. She loves
The program!
This is a phenomenal organization - the type of work it does, it directly transforms the life of folks - from Youth Empowerment workshops for teenagers to handle stress; to helping people around the world to "re-build their lives" after natural calamities; to helping veterans deal with PTS & reintegrate back to regular-lifestyles; giving hope to prisoners; etc..!
I have been very fortunate to be a volunteer for this amazing organization and see results first hand, and am sure will continue to help out in any way possible!
This organization had a life changing impact on me. Words will not do justice to the work done by these people. One needs to experience the courses offered by this organizations and its sister organizations.
Been associated with IAHV for the past 14 months. I did stress managment programs and it has helped me immensly.
I am a volunteer and supporter of IAHV for a while now. I have donated to various causes like the Tsunami in Japan, earthquake in India, earthquake in Haiti, etc.
I take particularly special pride in supporting the YES program offered by IAHV in schools. The program teaches young kids techniques to manage stress, control negative emotions - especially anger in young kids, be peaceful, and brings up their positivity, creativity, prepares them for the world they enter in to after school life, and sows the seeds for success in their lives. I have had the opportunity to listen to kids who have experienced the benefits of YES offered by IAHV at a fund raiser in San Jose, it was beautiful to hear transformation in kids in their own innocent words.
I will always support IAHV. IAHV offers great tools for me to make a positive impact on the planet.
I am a member of IAHV. Its program changed my life. I am more confident, it helped me finding my identity.
Teenagers have benefitted immensely due to YES course program offered in schools (IAHV offer YES course programs in schools for Teenagers to handle stress ). As a volunteer it is fulfilling for me
My son and many other teens are benefited by the YES! course offered by IAHV. I felt that the money donated to IAHV go long way be it for veterans programs or for any trauma relief program. The voluneteers are dedicated and diligent about using the money for administrative expenses.
I see they go out around the world and after the needed cause. In US, India I've read they are one of the first to respond. Besides necessary clothing, food, they also partner to bring stress relief which is very important to the affected people.
I have attended numerous concerts organized by IAHV and they have been wonderful. They collect the money very ethically, serve very graciously and stretch every dollar to the most to provide the benefits to the needy instead of the using it as management fees.
IAHV has been one of the first organizations to respond to natural as well as man made calamities around the world. I have contributed to their many volunteer efforts - from Bosnia war to 9/11, Tsunami, Iraq war, Afghanistan war and other such tragedies. The organization is well run with respected leaders from the community. I have found IAHV volunteers to be truly selfless in service and genuine in their passion for the cause. I recommend this organization highly.
I have been associated with this group and have seen them do some amazing work at schools. Teaching young kids in US to deal with stress is needed in this fast paced life, this is one of their projects. They are involved in several other humanitarian projects all over the world.
IAHV is a dedicated and reputable organization with a great deal of integrity. It operates leanly and makes sure an extremely high percentage of any donation goes directly to programs. The management is conscientious and compassionate. IAHV is an organization that is truly in the mind of pure service to benefit as many people as it can.
this is a very dedicated volunteer organization. I'm inspired by their energy, willing to go the extra mile in bringing a difference in people's lives.
The participants response after attending the programs offered by the organization were very positive.
My daughter and many other teens were benefited by the Yes program offered at her high school free of charge. Many students reported feeling better about themselves and more confident after the program.
IAHV provides great service to our schools and I wish they could do even more and I know that will happen, if IAHV has more funds and engaged volunteers to extend the programs to more and more schools.
Thanks so much and keep it up!
I have volunteered several times for the organization. Its amazing to see how the organization has reached out to veterans, corporations, school children and several others. I have experienced the transformation myself and continue to volunteer
International Association for Human Values has been serving the society all over the world for decades. While they are among the first people to reach any disaster areas, they don;t just leave after providing for the immediate relief supplies. They stay there and continue to work to bring the survivors back on their feet through their trauma relief programs. Their youth programs are the best. If we want to improve human values in our society we need to start young - hence the way their youth programs instill these values in the young, it is amazing. It is amazing to see the change in the teenagers, high school students. The confidence they get in themselves and the way they resort to more peaceful ways to deal with their conflicts is extremely heartening to watch.
I have volunteered for this organization because I was touched by and healed by the programs and services this organization conducts. They are curing the root cause instead of just preventing it. They are attending to the source by reducing stress on individual's mind and creating deep love in every ones heart.
The organization with projects that span a wide spectrum
of activities from sustainable tribal schools to disaster relief, run
by volunteers who themselves use sustainable techniques to keep
their inspiration and energy high is just so unique. And all this
With some of the lowest operating expenses of any non-profit in
the world!

A committed group of self-motivating volunteers who have joined hands to bring on a huge transformation to people hit by various calamities - natural, man-made or self made.
In those tough moments, its our basic human values which come to the forefront - a smile, a hug, lots of love, compassion and so forth.
Have undertaken a lot of Breath Water Sound workshops for people in slum areas and villages and have seen amazing transformation in people's life
People who have done the Art of Living course become so energetic and inspired that they channel their energy in service projects in IAHV. Amazing group of volunteers.
Having personally seen teenagers transform themselves from drug-addict, alcoholic lifestyle to getting rid of addictions, evolving and blossoming said it all for me! This program is outstanding, transforming the lives of our Youth and building strong pillars for the future!!
I was monitoring the work iAHV was doing for Uttrakhand disaster relief in India. I followed their calls from the disaster site to educate donors on the ground challenges and was amazed at the dedication the volunteers showed.
Their work in trauma relief is extremely praiseworthy.
I have served as the West Coast Regional Director of YES! for Schools: an educational and youth development initiative of IAHV. The dedication and passion of the staff and volunteers to the organization vision, and commitment to service is commendable. One of the most inspiration and transformational years of my life was working for IAHV.
I helped with teaching their YES for high School Program. It was definitely out of my comfort zone in the beginning to stand in front of a whole high school class since I had not interacted with that age group a lot before. But the impact of the program on the kids was so rewarding to me that it made me go again and again.
Working for IAHV is the most wonderful and life-changing experience for me. I've been working with IAHV for the past 3 years. I had an opportunity to grow and help others to grow as well. Working with youth become something I want to continue doing for the rest of my life. When I signed up with IAHV in 2010, I had no clue what turn my life would take, I knew teaching YES was one of the aspects and it's been the most rewarding teaching youth how to take care of their emotions and well being and recently I had a chance to work with inmates teaching IAHV Prison SMART at Chicago Cook County. WOW, that blew my mind, how much people are in need to learn IAHV programs.
If you want an amazing experience that would change your life try this.
IAHV gave me an opportunity to help out with the earthquake refugees in Haiti. As I spoke French, it was easier to connect with the Haitians and teach them simple but powerful breathing techniques combined with simple applicable points about handling life more efficiently. While at it, I was honored to support the training of 16 Haitian youth leaders who learned and trained along to facilitate more programs for their fellow countrymen/women. These youth in turn created a sustainable "urban agriculture (permaculture)" program to support food security. They also created grassroot disposal of urban waste and closing the circle with converting trash to food via composting.
IAHV provides great courses for the general public to help manage stress while transforming lives. I've taken these course several times and by the end of the course am counting days to when I can take them again!
This is an organization with a lot of heart. It may not have the most funding or structure, but it seeks to help people in the deepest and most lasting way, giving tools for people to help themselves.
I volunteer to bring IAHV's "Youth Empowerment Seminar" program to high school students.
This program gives excellent tools to students and enables them to cope with life in a positive way.
Equipped with these skills, students will perform better academically, emotionally and socially.
If we want to reduce poverty, violence, depression and build better societies, empowering our youth is the easy way. That is what YES program in high schools does and volunteering for this cause is very very rewarding.
The volunteers are amazing
The organization is mind blowing
I cant say enough about it
What a desicated group
Tied together by lofty goals that they constantly try to fulfil
To make the world a better place
To make life better for those in desperate need
This organization has varied and wonderful projects that are focused on serving many different sectors of the population. Some projects are for military veterans, prisoners, school children, and many more. The organization inspires so many people to lend a helping hand. It is wonderful to volunteer for this organization.
This wonderful non profit is helping the youngsters understand their emotions and hence better control them. By learning simple breathing techniques through workshops conducted at various schools it helps the students deal better with anger, peer pressure, bullying, anxiety as well as concentrate and perform better in school.
I loved volunteering for IAHV during one of the Cultural exchange programs, where youth from Japan visited the Bay Area, and underwent the trademark YES! course organized by IAHV. The soundness of techniques surpasses the demarcations of culture, country or race. It simply re-kindles the basis of what we are- Humans :)
If you get a chance to be associated with IAHV, go for it!
Very candid and focused organization. Priorities are very clear for every project they have done. Always very well regarded by City and School District officials.
The work that is being done through the YES for High Schools program is just phenomenal. Providing the right tools to teens, empowering them to make the right choices and helping them deal with stresses - whether it is in troubled neighborhoods or in high achieving schools - is something unique to this program.
Great programs are offered to youth in schools. It makes for an awesome platform conducive to learning and sharing.
I am very happy to see that the teenagers & children are taken care through the IAHV system in schools. Stress is a delicate factor in one's life & this is a beautiful way of addressing it.
I have been involved with IAHV since 2001, and really impressed by the breadth of service and contribution it has made to communities all over the world. Whether it was for disaster relief and rehabilitation after the Gujrat, India earthquake in 2001 or Tsunami in 2004, the nimbleness and the efficiency with which IAHV mobilizes resources in serving those hard hit by these calamities is quite extraordinary.
IAHV continues to make huge long-term impact in local communities across all over the US through its YES for School programs (http://www.iahv.org/us-en/program/yes-for-schools/) and PRISON Smart programs (http://www.iahv.org/us-en/program/prison-smart/) with minimal overhead and administrative expenses, and in less than 5 years these programs have touched over 30,000 high school students, over 10,000 prison inmates. I will continue to be involved and support this non-profit organization for all the inspiring work it is currently doing!.
I have been supporting the IAHV's Project Welcome Home Troops for a few years now. I am extremely impressed with all the great work they are doing for our young veterans and their families.
A unique non-profit whose services aim to increase clients' self confidence, motivation, and enthusiasm. The organization is able to replenish its volunteering resources all the time.
This organization is doing amazing work in the community uplifting and empowering individulas. I am constantly inspired and motivated by their dedicated teachers and volunteers The work their teachers have done in schools is phenomenal bringing life transforming skills to kids who need it most
IAHV is an international non-profit that I started working with about 10 years ago. At first, I could not believe that some organization that is run mainly through volunteers could achieve so much, but I am truly amazed to learn the breadth of projects that they have undertaken in the past few years. The number of lives impacted in a meaningful way is just phenomenal. I am proud to have associated with IAHV and will continue to donate as well as volunteer for this organization.
IAHV undertakes numerous projects that benefit communities all over the world. One of the most prominent projects in the USA is 'YES! For Schools'. I am personally associated with the volunteers of IAHV and impressed with their dedication and hard work. I wish them good luck!
The impact IAHV's programs make is truly life-changing and transformative, reaching into underserved populations and providing tools for dealing with some of life's most difficult issues. The effect I have seen on young children and teens lives after they experience IAHV's YES! for Schools Program is astounding. Young people can learn tools to manage their minds and lives that they can they use everyday in so many situations. The effect can take students in a positive direction of growth and transformation where they may have been struggling with life issues. Not only does the organization reach into schools but also into prisons, offering true relief and rehabilitation possibilities for many who may have had no reason to hope.
The educational programs for High School Kids and the Prison smart programs for Inmate are awesome and life transforming. So many have benefited and will keep working for more to get the benefit!
IAHV is an amazing NGO and Non-Profit organization. The impact it is bringing at various fronts and for people from different walk. Their educational programs for High School Kids and the Prison smart programs for Inmate have huge impact.
This organization is a world changer! IAHV is doing wonderful work all around the world. They do it by offering programs and aid in the effort to reduce stress. I love that it does that by getting to the core of the problems in our society through the individual by de-stressing their life and empowering them to be that agent of change in their community. IAHV promotes human values and it integrates these values in their various programs. It is a remarkably and worthy organization. I support it!
As a volunteer, I teach the life skills program of IAHV in many high schools in Bay Area. I have seen, first hand, the transformation these programs bring in to teenagers lives. Many teens become strong advocate of the program after experiencing it. The beauty of these tools lie in its simplicity, ease of integration into daily life and its effectiveness.
IAHV is an incredible organization that promotes human values and a sense of belongingness for all people. They teach powerful breathing techniques that support stress relief and emotional self-management. Their programs have touched lives all over the world from children in schools to adults in prisons.
I hope you truly look into this incredible organization. It's 100% volunteer run with the goal of improving the world one person, community, society, and group at a time. They reach so many different groups, from women and children to veterans and people denied access to education, water, safety, etc. These volunteers are often full-time workers and have given up their careers to devote their lives to being there for others. The Welcome Home Troops is a beautiful example - dedicated to helping veterans. They remind us daily how we loose more than 22 vets daily to suicide and are determined to save and change their lives with free breathwork-meditation workshops that are empirically demonstrated to significantly reduce their rates of PTSD. This organization is truly from the soul and dedicating to helping each soul out there. All my hats are off to them. Go IAHV!
This association does more good for the world than I could possibly begin to explain. They reach so many hundreds of thousands of people reach their own potential and help people overcome challenges in their own lives by showing them the essence of goodness and service for humanity. Stress relief and emotional management is just the tip of the iceberg. Thank you, IAHV!
IAHV is beyond amazing! The sole purpose of this non profit organization is to uplift humanity and spread positivity throughout the world. It has truly been a pleasure volunteering with IAHV's YES! for Schools Program and serving students in underprivileged communities. Everyday I am excited to know that sharing tools that increase awareness, cultivate generosity and decrease stress will forever change some students lives. The impact IAHV has had on the world is revolutionizing the way we think and serve our communities.
Volunteering for IAHV's Youth Empowerment Seminar (YES!) for Schools Program has been the most rewarding and enriching experience of my life! Because of it, I've had the opportunity to affect direct change into the lives of thousands of inner city youth by teaching them to deal with their stress and negative emotions in a healthy way.
The IAHV gives me the platform through which to express my passion of giving back to society. I wake up everyday looking forward to serving others, especially youth and inmates in my community, and providing them simple ways to empower themselves.
I volunteer with IAHV's Youth Empowerment Seminar(YES!) program. Teaching YES! to inner city kids has been a tremendous learning experience for me. I have seen kids completely transformed by the program! From angry, frustrated kids to empowered, dynamic kids, that is the power of the program. The program is great and so are all the people who devote their time and energy to it.
I was inspired with great work being done by the volunteers of this organization & had great joy in supporting their cause through a fund raiser event last year. The kids need healthy tools to handle their emotions better not just some techy -gadgets.
IAHV has been doing amazing work within US and countries abroad. As an organization they are always ne of the first to help in trauma relief and programs which help people to deal with the emotional stress of a calamity.
IAHV has been a truly satisfying volunteering experience. The programs are very valuable and helping people in a way that has long-term impact. The YES for Schools program is very successful and teaches stress-relief to teenagers to give them the calmness to deal with daily challenges and succeed in their lives. The disaster relief programs have impact because they combine stress-relief, empowerment with material relief in form of food and clothing.
When Sandy hit NJ, IAHV volunteers worked tirelessly to help people in affected area. They collected canned goods & other food items, clothing, toys jackets etc. utilities & above all gave their time @ the shelters helping people reduce stress by simple exercises. There timely help was much appreciated.
As a volunteer for years, I am truely amazed by the dedication, commitment, enthusiasm and passion of the staff and fellow volunteers at IAHV. I have witnessed it first hand.. Service with a Smile and just being there for the needy drives these volunteers..
As a volunteer for a few years now, I have continually been impressed with the dedication, passion, and sincerity of IAHV's staff and volunteers. The approach is so innovative, and SO what's missing in the world!
IAHV offers programs to reduce stress and develop leaders so that human values can flourish in people and communities. It was a great pleasure volunteering for this organization.Keep u the excellent work IAHV!
Review from Guidestar
It was so rewarding to offer a service that was so needed and yet so rare - we gave people practical tools including yoga, breathing techniques, meditation to help Katrina survivors overcome the stress of the hurricane and get back to their lives.
Many people we taught said that they were getting the best sleep they had since the hurricane. We also taught the staff of other nonprofits to help them not get burnt out. We taught all the 911 first responders. We helped turn a free lunch program ran by another nonprofit into a half day kids camp.
