Mission: NAAREF focuses on identifying and prioritzing the agricultural aviation industry's research and educational needs. NAAREF sponsors training programs, research projects, and symposiums to meet the continuing educational needs of today's agricultural aviation profession. In 1996 NAAREF instituted the Professional Aerial Applicators Support System (PAASS), in 2002 the Compaass Rose and Athena programs.
Programs: National Agricultural Aviation Research & Education Foundation (NAAREF) instituted the Professional Aerial Applicators Support System (PAASS) program in 1996. This is a program that educates pilots on key safety and drift minimization issues important to flying, modern agriculture, and crop protection. In 2002 a similar program for new pilots was begun called Compaass Rose. A roundtable discussion program of support and education for the spouses and significant others of aerial applicators was also begun in 2002 called the Athena Program.
