Islamic Relief has been such a blessing in my life! Every time I go in for a volunteer event, I am always greeted with such a warm welcome, many of the volunteers are so friendly and kind and everyone works together as a team. I've volunteered at other non profits as well but Islamic Relief is one of a kind and I've always left with a smile on my face, hoping I did my part to help some relief to those who need it most!
We absolutely have enjoyed every single meal pack that we have participated in with IRUSA. The level of heart that goes into each event creates a lifetime of memories. My family and I are blessed to be able to volunteer at these events and look forward to each one. We hope that IRUSA continues in providing this organized event for years to come. -R2A
Islamic Relief has given my family and I such a great opportunity to give back in Charity by providing our time to help in Meal Pack events or Fundraising events. All the events are organized in such a professional and through manner so as volunteers we are able to make the most of each event. Islamic Relief has truly been a blessing where my family and I enjoy attending every volunteer opportunity where we can come together with our Islamic Relief family in helping humanity in need all across the world!!!
Inclusive and inviting, easy to get involved with, and dedicated to its cause, IRUSA is my favorite nonprofit to support. I know my time and effort and resources are being used to help people not just locally or nationally but globally. The VA chapter is exceptionally wonderful and the volunteer coordinator, Shawana, is truly a ray of sunshine!
Volunteering with Islamic Relief has been a truly meaningful experience for me. I’ve had the chance to contribute to projects that directly support those in need, from fundraising to community outreach. The staff is incredibly supportive, and I always feel like I am part of a team that genuinely cares about making a difference. It’s inspiring to see the impact of their work, and I’m proud to be involved with such a dedicated organization!
I have stayed connected with Islamic Relief a few years now and the opportunity to not only help others but grow in philanthropic goals is endless. The leads who guide us through or stay in touch constantly are such a pleasure and emphasize Islamoc values of charity and kindness and community which I think are core of what makes communities strong and exude positive messages for people of all backgrounds. I am so proud to be part of such a beautiful organization and hope to grow in it and keep helping and connecting with people and spreading the beauty thet is Islam and it’s people.
Very welcoming community of volunteers and leaders that work effectively together to achieve the goal of the project. Not only do we get several opportunities to make an impact, but we all have a great time doing it. The leaders of the organization, especially the volunteer engagement specialist, does a phenomenal job of making sure the volunteer events run smoothly while helping us reach the goal! By far my favorite non profit organization.
IRUSA changed my life. I have volunteered with them for a little over a year & have met amazing friends while doing good for the community. It has truly allowed me to realize how important giving back is.
I have been volunteering in Islamic Relief USA for almost 2 years now and let me tell you one thing. I absolutely love it here! From the many volunteers that show up in the mornings, afternoons or even evenings to help-out, to the enthusiasm that drives getting the work done, the teamwork, the friendships that you get to make, the endless care after each other from making sure everyone’s well hydrated, to the snacks and keeping us well-fed. These are things i’ve experienced and continue to in IRUSA home. Yes home!
I believe that there is no greater cause than being able to lend a hand, relieve burdens or put a smile on someone’s face whom you’ve never seen. The intense feeling of satisfaction and gratitude that you are capable of helping people in need entirely makes you feel like a better person. I am also sure that we are receiving prayers.
To sum up, IRUSA is a safe place for sharing, self-reflecting and making an impact in this world.
May we continue to be the beacon of light and hope for all those in need.
IRUSA is a great local charity organization in NOVA. My family and I have been volunteering at IRUSA for several years. and find it to be a positive experience for our youth and a great resource for the community .
Volunteering with this incredible organization, Islamic Relief, has been nothing short of an honor. While we often think we are the ones making a difference in the lives of those in need, the truth is they profoundly impact us. They remind us to appreciate the blessings in our own lives and open our eyes to different perspectives, fostering gratitude and humility.
This experience brings the community together, united by a shared purpose and mission to lend a helping hand to those who need it most. It’s truly a beautiful way to give back and create meaningful connections while making a positive impact. I am so grateful to have been part of such a rewarding and heartwarming journey.
Impactful, transparent, and highly organized nonprofit. You get to see the impact you make on families directly. Great people as well.
Islamic Relief is an incredible nonprofit organization that I have been volunteering with for several years. They give humanitarian aid both locally and nationally, providing hands on volunteer opportunities that engages the local community. I’ve been able to meet incredible people, like our volunteer coordinator Shawana, and build a strong support system within the departments of this organization. I have been blessed to have the opportunity to extend that support to others. I hope to continue to volunteer with this organization for many more years.
My time volunteering with Islamic Relief was an incredibly rewarding and eye-opening experience. The organization’s commitment to providing humanitarian aid to those in need deeply resonated with me, and it felt great to be part of such a purposeful mission.
Having Shawana as our volunteer lead made all the difference. Her leadership was both inspiring and supportive. She demonstrated exceptional organizational skills, ensuring that each volunteer understood their role and felt motivated. Shawana created an inclusive environment where everyone's contributions, big or small, were recognized. Her passion for the cause was contagious, and she consistently went above and beyond to ensure we were all well-equipped and informed. Thanks to Shawana’s guidance and the collaborative atmosphere within the team, my volunteering experience was not only fulfilling but also a chance to grow personally. I learned a lot about working in a team, giving back to the community, and the impact of charitable work.
Volunteering with IRUSA has been such a great experience for me. The events are always fun and well-organized, and the people (both the staff and the community) are so warm and welcoming. I’ve made some amazing long-term connections with other volunteers, and it’s had such a positive impact on my life!
I volunteered with Islamic Relief USA for the first time in 2019, and I have been volunteering ever since. Islamic Relief is an amazing organization and it gives anyone interested in volunteering an amazing opportunity to volunteer and help others not only locally but also internationally, and it has a wonderful and welcoming community as well.
I’ve been volunteering for Islamic relief since I was a pre teen! Throughout these past couple of years I’ve been volunteering more often and I love it. I’ve gained so many new friendships and connections. I always love going to the Springfield VA warehouse and seeing Sister Shawana brightens up my day. The vibe, energy, and atmosphere is contagious and I would encourage anyone and everyone to volunteer for Islamic relief especially those who live in the dmv area. It always feels rewarding no matter what volunteer project I’ve finished. I love Islamic Relief!!
I’m a regular volunteer at Islamic Relief USA. I’ve joined them up and down the East coast to support meal packs, fundraisers, and grocery packs. Not only has it been an immensely rewarding experience for myself but the work they do has exponential ROI on communities in need around the US
IRUSA endeavors aligns well with humanitarian mission. The team at the DMV region are professionals doing a phenomenal job organizing impactful events serving humanity! As a result, the volunteers at the IR DMV region are the best! Thank you for all that you do and may the Creator of the universe bless us with doing good deeds.
I just wanted to join a cause that made me feel like I made a difference. Not only that but you make life long friends along the way.
IRUSA has changed my life in ways I can’t even describe! I am forever grateful for the volunteer opportunities that I’m able to attend and take part in. I’ve met countless people with hearts of gold, made lifelong friendships and has humbled me in so many ways! Truly one of the best humanitarian organizations out there!
I started volunteering with IRUSA close to 2 years ago and I have really enjoyed my time. It has introduced me to so many amazing people and close friends. I’ve also gone on trips with them to Puerto Rico and really felt the impact of my efforts.
Joining Islamic Relief after graduating has been one of the best experiences for me! I’ve been able to connect with so many other Muslims and find a community while ensuring that I’m able to get back to communities in need. There are so many awesome events offered so I’m able to bring so many of my close family and friends given that I’m always able to find an event that appeals to someone. As someone who’s also set up a private event through Islamic relief, I found how easy it is to collaborate with the organization when wanting to host personal events. Shout out to Shawana for being the best ever!! (mA (: )
I am monthly donor and donate throughout the year. Why do I donate, every prophet from the time of Adam AS Allah assigned two things Prayers and charity. Since I am afraid of Allah's punishment and love him more than anyone in this universe I donate. Unfortunately most Muslims don't understand this.
I have been an Islamic Relief USA volunteer and donor since 2013. The volunteer management office is beyond amazing! They all have so much energy and are excited to have you work with them. I attended a meal-pack last, and it was AMAZING!! Everyone was working so smoothly, and things were well organized. I met so many nice people and started to create a bond with them. Islamic Relief USA really is a great place to volunteer at!!
As a donor and a volunteer, Islamic Relief has allowed me the joy of working with them for the last for the last four years in multiple capacities. It is a honor as a Muslim to serve and aid our fellow human beings and Islamic Relief does so at the highest level. This is a beautiful organization and I can not say enough wonder things about it.

As [Info removed for confidentiality purposes] my brothers and sisters in Islam. Peace to you all. In regards to Islamic Relief USA, I must say it is an excellent organization that brings out the best in people. As Muslims, we are tasked to help those less fortunate than ourselves and this company delivers in spades. I've volunteered for IRUSA since 2019 and I've enjoyed every second. I also donate when I have the funds available. I feel better about the world because of organizations like IRUSA who help those when needed, no matter the issue.
Amazing work they do on the ground which I have witnessed in different continents, particularly in Asia and Africa.
I have been donating through IRUSA for a while now. They make it possible for busy people like me to help and donate with ease. I trust them to, by Allah's will, take care of getting the donation to where it is intended.
May their efforts and ours be pleasing to Allah, and may He multiply its effects many times over. Ameen.
Volunteering with Islamic Relief has been an incredibly fulfilling experience. What stands out is their real impact - it's not just busywork; it's work that changes lives globally. The best part is how inclusive and diverse Islamic Relief is. They empower communities, not just provide temporary relief. As a volunteer, you become part of a big, supportive family, and they provide training and resources to ensure you're ready. It's flexible, positive, and transparent. Plus, it's not just local; you get to contribute to global change. It's an enriching and impactful opportunity, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a meaningful way to volunteer their time and skills.
I've had the privilege of witnessing the incredible work of Islamic Relief USA, and I'm truly inspired by their impact.
What sets them apart? It's their unwavering commitment to humanity, their efficiency in resource use, and their transparency in reporting. They go beyond emergency relief, fostering sustainability and empowering communities.
But what strikes me most is their heart. They engage with local communities, respecting their dignity, and collaborate across faiths to make a difference.
In a challenging world, Islamic Relief USA shines as a beacon of hope. I encourage you to support them. Your contribution will truly change lives.
Thank you, Islamic Relief USA, for your outstanding dedication to a more compassionate world.

Islamic Relief has helped save over 134,000,000 million people around the globe, providing food, clean water, medical supplies, education, shelter and much more to over 70 countries since their inception. They’re ambitious, they take risks. They share their successes and their failures. They’re transparent.
Their website and their use of social media are great. They are simple and beautiful and lovable. And it’s funny seeing other charities adopt their color schemes and style.
One of the reasons I donate to them is they don’t claim they are a ‘100% model’ charity where they guarantee that 100% of my donation will go directly to the field. Because of that I support Islamic Relief.
It’s unnecessary and irresponsible, and it’s not sustainable to claim that.
Organization that do even in the simplest of terms a donation from me would almost certainly incur ‘credit card’ fees. But how can you operate like that. How about if the volunteer who does it for free has a life changing status or the donor who covers it can not.
Staff deserve wages and that’s why I give to Islamic Relief because of their values they have Rahma to their staff by paying them fair wages.
For the charities that claim 100% who pays the wages? Their rent? Their electricity bill? Supplies? Credit card fees. What if they can’t find enough ‘private donors, foundations and sponsors’ to pay these? Does my donation just sit in account, unable to be used because of their own restrictions?
And really, shouldn’t some of my donation be spent on auditing the finances behind my donation? Shouldn’t some be spent on measuring the impact of my donation? Shouldn’t some be spent on assessing how next year’s donation can be used better than this year’s?
As much as I respect The effort of 100% donation from these charities, I get the sense that perhaps they don’t respect me, the donor.
Most of all, the 100% Model is damaging to nearly every other charity because it gives the public unrealistic expectations. It implies that ‘100% to the field’ is desirable, truthful and even possible. It’s not.
This is why I give to Islamic Relief. They have great staff, a great vision and being faith based governed by their great values I trust they will not be wasteful with my donation and have a reasonable overhead like they do.
Thank you Islamic Relief for your professionalism.
They are doing amazing job, and they are verified organization, muslims can trust and share their generosity
May Allah reward them
Great organization for Donations to go to. Very transparent and easy to use for Zakat, Eid Donations, Sadaqa, etc.
I am so proud to say that I’m an Islamic Relief employee. As a new team member with IRUSA, I was welcomed by such great, supportive staff. I love the work that we do and genuinely appreciate the opportunity I was given to work with this non-profit.
Where do I start? First of all, the name of the nonprofit badge speaks for it self, Islamic relief USA, it spreads relief to the unfortunate people who deal on a daily basis with the unfortunately issue of not knowing whether or not they'll be bless with a plate of food the upcoming days. This is possible because of the willingness and humility of IRUSA's staff members and volunteers who decide to put on practice God's guidance by giving some relief to those in need.
This non profit has saved lives. They dig wells in Africa and help many refugee camps around the world. They distribute essential food, wood for heat, and build camps for those without a home. I volunteer with them. I have meal packed, hygiene kit packed and much more and it’s always so rewarding and fun.

I am so proud to say that I’m an Islamic relief volunteer. I am always welcomed. We have meetings to promote and raise money. We halo out with fundraising dinners .
I am grateful to meet with the president. They are really passionate about the work they do. At times the volunteers that travel overseas put their lives in danger.
Islamic Relief does fantastic, immeasurably beneficial, necessary relief work all over the world. They are trustworthy, thorough, diligent and provide the perfect opportunity for those looking to give to a charity who will get the most meaningful benefit out of each of their dollars. I am so thankful for Islamic Relief. I have given to them forever, and I will continue as long as I am able.
After my first meal pack, I was convinced that I had to stay involved with IR long term. The community of volunteers is so dear to me especially knowing how we’ve come together for the same reason with the same goals. I’m especially fond of the enthusiasm that I am met with at every meal pack and event seeing how it fuels my motivation to contribute to the various causes that IR supports. This organization has further instilled a profound value of selflessness through the various events. Through this organization, I’ve found another incredible group that I easily consider as close as family. It’s rare to come across a community of individuals who connect immediately on the basis of non-personal gains, but at IR this community welcomed me with open arms the second I expressed interest.
One word: SELFLESSNESS! Thinking about the work that IRUSA does, brings tears to my dies. They ARE the boots on the ground. From flooding in the Southeast, to hurricane and tornado disasters, to genocidal terror abroad, these folks get the aid into the hands of devastated families. I wish we did not need IRUSA, but thank goodness they are here.
It all started back when I was 16. Like all other high school kids, we were scrambling to get our service hours done. I found out that IRUSA was just minutes away from my house and started to volunteer. Although there were many things I did throughout my life to build my resume, enhance my applications, etc., it was volunteering with IRUSA that truly interested me. Even in my gap year with a bit of confusion as to my what my direction in life would be, I knew I wanted to continue packing meals, setting up dinners, and performing other acts of service with Islamic Relief. I’m a visual person, so it makes me glad every time I use my hands to help out, because I can see the impact my friends and I are making. It feel amazing to connect with other volunteers for the sole goal of helping those in need. I will continue to volunteer with them for as long as I can!
Very easy to donate through Islamic Relief, Masha’Allah!
And only 3% goes for administrative fees.
Jazakum Allah Khair!

I am a donor and registered volunteer with Islamic Relief USA. The donation experience was easy and quick, and I liked how they did not require a fee out of my donation. I just wish that along donation opportunities promotion, IRUSA would advertise volunteer opportunities more, too. I want to physically help anywhere around the world where people need help, and I know IRUSA has certain opportunities but I don’t get notifications or emails for them as much. If it is possible, I would like to be added to a contact list for abroad volunteer opportunities; my email is shamilanawaz123@gmail.com and my number is 7182346213. Otherwise, thank you for making helping others from home easy and simple for us!
This is an incredibly important organization that serves the needs of the most desperately in need. Please don’t hesitate to give because it has relentlessly proven itself to be an honest and effective effort. Islamic Relief is based on sincere intentions with good hearts and helpful hands. It is an honor to anyone who gets to be part of its beautiful mission!
It’s been great experience volunteering for Islamic Relief. They offer a variety of different opportunities including in person and online ways to participate. Some of the most memorable experiences have been the meal packs, because it’s a real hands on way to contribute. I would hope to continue to be involved with this organization for q lifetime for all it has to offer as a volunteer reaching out to as many of those in need as possible.
Islamic Relief is known to most as one of the most active charities in the world. Not only do they service war-torn or catastrophe-hit locations around the globe, but they fruitfully serve their own communities as well. I’ve been a volunteer with IRUSA for over 7 years, and every experience has been a humbling experience. I’ve come across people in my own city whose stories I would’ve never known of if it weren’t for IRUSA’s local efforts. Their projects, local and abroad, changed the trajectory of my life in unfathomable ways — inspiring me to become someone who can have a similar positive impact. Their work is purely genuine and you can see it through the dedication of the staff. Their commitment to serving the unfortunate resonates within the entire organization and trickles down to the volunteers. The entire organization is filled with genuine, hard-working and sincere individuals. Volunteering with IRUSA gives you a sense of pride and joy that subconsciously makes you committed and loyal to them.
I have volunteered for Islamic Relief USA multiple times and every time the experience has been fulfilling. The meal packs in Chicago are always well organized and fun! The staff does it’s level best to encourage the volunteers to meet the goal in order to feed as many individuals in underprivileged communities around the world. They also did a great job taking care of their volunteers during the pandemic while executing meal packs. I appreciate the free Islamic relief gear and snacks during the events! The company and ambiance make the experience enjoyable and meaningful.
Being part of this organization as a contributor has been an extremely fulfilling experience that I hope to be a part of for many years to come. I’ve met so many amazing people who are extremely passionate about helping our fellow brothers in sisters in need. IRUSA is definitely one of the most organized and transparent nonprofits around, making it an easy decision for people who are looking to donate to a pressing cause.
Islamic Relief meets all my criteria when it comes to nonprofit work. They are quick to respond to crises and I’ve never had anything but positive experiences donating to them. Highly recommend!!
1. Active volunteer since 2019.
2. Participated in regular volunteering events for fundraising, meal-packing, warehouse organizing, DMT home rebuilding, convention participation and refugee clothing sorting projects.
3. It is one of the best places to do volunteering.
4. IRUSA provides very convenient ways to do volunteering. For example: virtually, on site, in the warehouse, inside USA, and outside USA.
I came across them out of the blue, and decided to sign up because I knew I had to start serving others, when I went in for my first event, it was amazing, we were partnered with a local pantry in the southside of Chicago and we were helping by giving hot meals to the residents there. It was the service I needed and Islamic Relief was able to provide that, after that I was also part of the meal packs that have helped over 60 thousand people! I always jump at the opportunity to volunteer with Islamic relief!
I have been a volunteer with IRUSA since 2017 now and I am so proud to be apart of this wonderful organization. It is the prefect organization to get involved with if you’re looking for a way to give back and meet some wonderful people along the way. IRUSA is made up of volunteers from all over the world and is open to everyone. I love helping with their fundraising events and meal packing events. It’s always a great way to spend the day !
I have grown up volunteering for Islamic Relief but recently I have started going on my own with my friend. We had an amazing time with one of our first times alone and then the second one we did was amazing because we got to help others while also meeting new people in our community.
Great people who set up the volunteering experience and great people who volunteer. Alhamdulillah always blessed to be able to go to one of these events - meal packs, hygiene kits, fundraising etc. Logistics are taken care of beforehand, sensational food is provided, friendly atmosphere.
Love the teamwork and positive environment, big blessings.
Islamic Relief USA has made it easy to volunteer and donate to causes that we care about as well as urgent humanitarian crises. I like their portal because of the how easy it is to sign up for volunteer events and donate. There are a lot of opportunities also to learn at webinars and virtual events. I especially enjoy volunteering at the meal packs as it feels like a great team effort and we produce amazing results. Recently, there was an online event where IRUSA employees told us more about their work on the field. These stories were inspiring and gave us a real feel to examples of what our donations actually contribute to.
IRUSA is a wonderful organization. They help people all over the world. This week I volunteer with my husband packing food . we had amazing experience . Their team were very organized and efficient. We got a lot done. I’m very proud to be a IRUSA volunteer and helping others
I have been volunteering with IRUSA for a year now and I am always impressed with the impact of the work they do. I've met a lot of amazing people through my experience volunteering with them and always leave their events knowing I made a difference.
They really appreciate their volunteers also and don't take our efforts for granted. Amazing organization!
IRUSA is truly an amazing and incredible selfless nonprofit organization. They seek to help those around them. I must say I enjoy volunteering my time here and being a part of something that will make an impact on many lives. I have gained the opportunity to meet such wonderful, amazing, talented, and passionate people. They have a drive and passion for what they do.
Long story short, I wanted to do something to provide charity and IRUSA has so many opportunities to volunteer, get others involved, start campaigns, and they keep you up to date on whats happening in the world. Being involved with this nonprofit gave more meaning to my life.
Whenever I volunteer at IRUSA, I do not ever have to think about making a difference in this world because the IRUSA team is always making a positive difference/change in the life of others. It is a non-profit organization that has invested in its volunteers and treats everyone with respect, love, and passion. I hope to be part of this family and give it everything I’ve. Recommended!
Helping other people in need in this duniya will elevate one's status in the eyes of Allah. JazakAllah Khair Islamic Relief USA for giving us the platform to help others. May Allah bless your organization immensely.
I love this nonprofit because it helps me be a good Muslim even though I am isolated from a Muslim community here in Portland where I moved after living in the Middle East for more than a decade. They truly help everyone. I regularly see a homeless person downtown wearing an Islamic Relief jacket and it reminds me how much they do to help people who need it. They allow me to send my Islamic donations to a wide variety of programs and they have a lot of resources about the current emergency needs. Sharif Aly is a national treasure and I am proud this Islamic charity is US based.
I choose this non profit because what we do for others, we do for ourselves. Help is on the way. 999. Love, Light and Peace
I have had an amazing experience with Islamic Relief over the past couple years. They are extremely organized and they do everything in the most efficient way possible.
I have been volunteering with Islamic Relief USA for more than five years, I found this organization extremely professional and compassion.
Islamic Relief is by far my favorite organization to work with. Everyone shares the same passion for trying to make the world a better place and I have learned so much through the different volunteer opportunities from donor pages to meal packs. I'm grateful for the amazing support the staff gives its volunteers and an their dedication to their work inspires those around them. This is an organization that works hard to make an impact in the lives of others and the people they serve are a testament to that.
It was such an honor to volunteer with Islamic Relief USA. Very professional team, the event started on time, instructions were clear and positive, inspiring and great vibes in the whole place.
I came to know about Islamic Relief in 2020 . Since then, i have been trying my best to volunteer and getting involved in the community. I never knew i can raise funds but i was able to participate on their platform with all fundraising awareness and education. I have attended their various campaigns to raise funds for pressing needs. I have also volunteered in their meal pack program that was very well organized and exceptionally hosted. I continue to work with them in the future. I support their mission to provide aid and relief to people all over the world.
I volunteered with Irusa in July 2021 for the first time. It was also my first time volunteering. My experience was very pleasant. Everyone at the event was very helpful and encouraging. Irusa’s team are great communicators, I have reached out to them a couple of times with questions and my concerns are addressed within 24 hours. I will continue to volunteer with Irusa, it’s a great organization with people who really cares for the community.
Volunteering is an opportunity to grow as an individual and as a community.
Recently my family and I volunteered at Islamic Relief for meal packing. My son has autism with a speech delay which affects his ability to follow multiple directions & socialize.
However, the staff and other volunteers went out of their way to guide and assist him as needed. The mentorship he received was so motivational that he later told me, “mom, I’ve had a wonderful day, when can we go again?”
IR, has always extended their arms out to help others in need. However, this was very different because, they extended kindness, understanding, inclusion and space for a person to be of service with dignity and respect.
We always look forward to volunteer at this wonderful organization, where humanity is at its forefront.
I like to donate and make sure my donations goes to where i want them to and Islamic Relief made that possible and easy for me. I also like their news and reminders to have more inside of the people who are in need because of war, natural disaster. Those give me more opportunity to help others in need when & where they need the most.
Asalamu3laykum.
My name is Salaam Al-nazer and I have volunteered for IRUSA a few times now. It is always a fun, enjoyable, and rewarding experience. Being able to help thousands of people through a very organized event and getting to meet many new people along the way is just some of the great things that go on when volunteering at IRUSA.
IRUSA has done so much for the community all across the US. I am a proud volunteer of this non profit and would recommend 100%
They are very transparent with regards to how donations are used. It is easy to criticize something but very difficult to demonstrate how to do it better. Indeed, IRUSA are the first responders in any crisis. Whether it is on our home front and helping the survivors of natural disasters/hurricanes here in the U.S.A. or giving food and shelter to innocent shell-shocked men, women, and children abroad, they never give it a rest. May Allah protect this organization and help us to take part in the holy work of serving the oppressed as they do at IRUSA. May Allah be pleased with you and protect you, [Info removed for confidentiality purposes]!
IRUSA non-profit organization is AWESOME, and its staff members are caring, efficient, compassionate, helpful, knowledgeable, professional, and respectful. Extraordinary leadership! Both staff and volunteers are committed to helping as many people as Allah will. Regardless of gender, race, or religion, IRUSA programs have helped countless people domestically and internationally. Volunteers (even IRUSA staff) work as teams to make a difference in the life of others. I have noticed IRUSA’s significant works (disasters, equality, injustice, poverty, etc.…) in multiple communities. I am happy to be part of this organization. It’s family to me. Being part of something greater than me keeps me alive mentally and physically. I have had the opportunity to help more people by volunteering my time at IRUSA events and becoming a well-rounded individual. Keep up the AMAZING work, IRUSA!
Extremely friendly people and the work they provide they make sure that nothing is done with shortcuts. The proper technique is applied in the circumstance, so people don’t ever feel they were done wrong. The staff leaders really care about their work and the people.
I’ve been a donor with Islamic relief since 2005. I was looking for a trustworthy charity organisation and I did my research and found that it’s one of the mostly highly regarded organisations. The percentage of every dollar of donation that goes to the needy are among the highest in the world. I thank the organisation for the great works it’s been doing around the world to help the weak and the vulnerable, those of us who can’t help themselves.
IRUSA does great work in helping Muslims around the world who are suffering through a crisis. Recently, I volunteered at their meal kit setup for the Afghan refugees and I was blown away with their organization and dedication to the cause. I highly recommend anyone who wants to help out to join IRUSA for future volunteer events.
IRUSA is amazing nonprofit organization. It feels great to take part in volunteer work of any kind, but what makes IRUSA even better is that they really love and appreciate their volunteers. It feel valued even for doing the smallest things which makes everyone want to do more.
IRUSA is amazing nonprofit organization. It feels great to take part in volunteer work of any kind, but what makes IRUSA even better is that they really love and appreciate their volunteers. I feel valued even for doing the smallest things which makes me want to do more. They are also the first people that reach out whenever there is a humanity crisis which is important so that I can quickly jump in and help. Thank you for all the opportunities you've given me IRUSA! Looking forward to working with you all in the future.
I volunteer with IRUSA quite often and they’re always very nice and welcoming from the minute we walk into their doors. They’re always very enthusiastic on helping the communities around them and brining as much help as they can, it was something that I always appreciated about the organization!
It's a privilege for me to be part of this good deed, under this reputable and eligible organization. I'm also enthusiasm about your activities which entails helping needy, orphans, widows and vulnerable people, among others.
Allah says in the glorious Koran that " whoever engaged himself/ herself in any good act particularly quenching thirst of a needy Allah will surely fulfill all his needs and satisfied him here and thereafter.
Wonderful organization that helps people all over the world regardless of their religion, race and ethnicity. Always there to help those in need!
As a family, we volunteered to wrap gifts for needy people before Eid Al Fitr at Diyanet Islamic center and sponsored by IRUSA .The environment was great and our kids learned many lessons that day! We were able to prepare 4000 packages and every one lift with high spirt.
Happy to always volunteer for this organization.
Consistently among the first to respond whenever there is an crisis. Whether it is a natural disaster, war, famine, or ongoing poverty...IRUSA is there to help.
I have had a very good and positive experience with Islamic Relief, USA.I do get consistent updates from them about the work they do via emails. I really appreciate the work they are doing. May Allah bless you for your selfless work for others.[Info removed for confidentiality purposes]
My absolute go to whenever I’m looking to donate. Very transparent and ask for both volunteers and donations. Volunteering with them, I could see how funds are used as we pack thousands of meals to be transported.
Love this Charity. I've supported them since it's inception in the early 90's. Anytime I turn on the news and hear of the horrors and desperate needs around the world. I'm comforted that Islamic Relief is mobilizing to help those families. And I'm with them in it as well.
IRUSA has such dedicated staff, you can tell they really believe in the mission. Islamic Relief has become a household name within the Muslim community!
This is the best nonprofit charity I came across. They help all walks of life and always there to help the ones in need.
Thank you all at IRUSA for helping us to help each other, that is all of humanity. Your effective efforts make it count. I feel great that you actually reach the people in need and nothing goes to waste. We all need help and the best way is to help. May Allah reward your efforts and promote you with continued effectiveness.
As a Muslim I always try to donate whenever and however I can. Finding a legit organisation that will use the most of my donation for the cause I am giving was very tough. I donated in several organisations then found there donation distribution policy was unclear or most of it went to administration and advertisements. Most organisations have a minimum donating amount that forces you to donate the amount they want. It was an unpleasant situation knowing my donation was not being used properly. Then again 1 or 2 organisations claimed to be 100% donating policy but I couldn’t find valid review and how they do it. Then finally I found Islamic Relief USA 87% of my donation will go to my cause, I can donate any amount I want and is legit. I am very happy with Islamic Relief USA
At least here in USA there are homeless shelters that are comfortable in changing weather and some have an auto to sleep, ok,let's help.
Salaam alaikum I converted to Islam in December 2019 and wanted to do something to help. I wish I could give more. May Allah bless you all for your work.!
Islamic Relief USA is much known and appreciated for the
1. Customer/donor care, Donor satisfaction is a priority and always there to answer their questions.
2 Great programs where helping people in need is constantly reviewed to give the best service where it is needed most.
3. Always looking at ways to save and direct the funds to lower overhead cost.
4. Engaging volunteers & bringing communities together.
5. Great team to be part of and work with. Employees are valued highly.
6. Upper Management team is engaging & listening to all levels of employees.
IRUSA is a good nonprofit organization that I trust.
They do absolutely amazing work, so many beneficiaries around the world. They are a strong organization that deserves to be recognized for their hard work. They have caring and dedicated staff that work tirelessly for the cause to help those around the world that are in need.
Highly recommend them to anyone.
This organization is by far one of the most upstanding non-profits around. The compassion they have to serve so many folks around the world with such dignity and professionalism is truly outstanding! I've been a long-time donor and I have full assurance that my money is in the right hands and trust that it will help serve the most vulnerable! Keep up the great job IRUSA!
Islamic Relief USA is Great Nonprofit that reaches every where and helping every one regardless of their race, color, region and ethnicity. I believe in their mission and I support them.
I love Islamic Relief USA for it's massive network and work it implements inside the USA and abroad. I live in CA, and we had several major fires in the last 2-3 years in Northern and Southern CA. Islamic Relief USA deployed their staff and volunteers in Northern CA and helped in the first days of the crises managing one of the shelters. The puck didn't stop there, several months down the road when people stopped talking about the disaster on the news, they still were committed and delivered financial assistance to some of the impacted families.
Faith inspired and mission driven. The work and the level of impact it reaches across the globe is paramount. Keep up the great work !
Islamic Relief is one of the best charities I know. It was amazing how quick they responded to Lebanon. Not only in collecting funds but being on the ground working and doing clean up. Amazing work Islamic Relief!!!

Amazing charity, I love the work you do and the transparency. Keep up the great work and thank you for the options and the easy usability on your site. I feel like you guys really do help around the globe
Long time donor, supporter, and more. I remember when they started out when I was just out of high school. I know when there is an emergency somewhere around the world, I can depend on them to be there. So happy they are the premiere charity working with the WFP in Yemen.
They’re a charity that helps me fill out my requirements for zakat and the work they do for those in are very admirable. Through their work they’re helping fix the false image of Muslims that the media portrays and show the world our true values as a religion
This is a great organization. I have observed the meaningful work that they are doing in the community via sponsoring events, conducting outreach, and providing needed services. They truly stay in touch with the community, take time to assess its needs, and respond in thoughtful and innovative ways.
Great website, very user friendly, easy to navigate and make donations. They also send you pictures and show you the progress of the orphans you sponsor and show you How your donations are helping the vulnerable people and making positive impact.
I have donated 3 plus times usually - Recently as today for [Info removed for confidentiality purposes] in Ramadan - I am a hindu by birth but through people one sees god. What other than [Info removed for confidentiality purposes] to the ones whom need the most and how IRUSA makes this happen in most difficult countries and situations - Inshal Allah for that - I did rate 4 coz at times it will beneficial to see where a donation finally reached - a small photo or video shared may be an awesome ending - something if possible to consider in future
This group did a HORRIBLE job with their event today in Las Vegas. People who really needed items like jackets and backpacks lined up four hours early for the event. When they opened up, they let over a hundred others in first -who hadn't been waiting, but just rushed up to the front of the line- and when those who actually waited voiced their concern, they were met with hostile and aggressive responses from those in charge. So basically the selfish reaped the rewards, and all the honest received were hostile aggressive words and actions from those in charge. All in the name of the Lord. You should be ashamed of yourselves.
I’ve been blessed to volunteer and donate to Islamic Relief USA. I’ve seen their work first hand. They take great pride in fulfilling the donors intent and work tirelessly to maximize the impact of their programs for those whom they serve. The organizations values are inspiring. Additionally, the organizationally continuously, year after year is amazingly transparent. This organization is near to my heart and I hope more people can support it so it can continue doing the great work it does.
I've continuously volunteered for Islamic Relief throughout the years, and it's always a great experience! I always look forward to Islamic Relief's fundraising events - it's a great way to meet new people in the community while doing good for local or international causes. Highly recommend volunteering and donating to IR in any way that you can.
Time and again, I entrust my donations with Islamic Relief USA -- they serve millions of people each year, and many of their programs tackle basic but untreated needs to help people living in poverty get the resources they need to break a ridiculous, vicious cycle that keeps them bound. I like that it's basic stuff, like building proper bathrooms in Tunisian schools or providing community grants in cities in the US or responding to emergencies in Africa or Asia -- it proves that it doesn't take a rocket scientist to provide solutions for poverty -- it just takes some compassion and work. Where there is a need, IR seems to be right there ready to help.
I've worked with Islamic Relief since high school and have always felt like a part of a giant family that's always working towards goodness! Whether it's a fundraiser at a "small" community or a big one, they never devalue any effort or any person who wants to help. There's always room in the IR family for anyone who wants to do good, in any way you want to do it- I've been a volunteer and attendee at fundraiser dinners, conference booths, and have always been interested in the meal packing for the homeless and fundraising runs! I look forward to being a lifelong volunteer with Islamic Relief, God willing.
Produces incredibly thoughtful, life-changing programs to those most in need. An organization that is not afraid of a challenge and doesn't show any sign of slowing down.
This is an incredible organization that serves all backgrounds in a dignified manner. IRUSA is on the ground helping rebuild homes in Texas, feeding folks nationally and internationally through their feeding programs, aiding when emergencies strike worldwide, caring for orphans, providing sustainable initiatives for folks to care for themselves, and educating generations on WASH, job training and so much more. This is my favorite nonprofit as it cares for all and is there when needed.
IRUSA is definitely working towards a better world!
Some of the most rewarding experiences I've had in my life were with volunteering for Islamic Relief. I've been able to package food that went straight from my hands to those in need. I've been a volunteer for 12 years and have made a lot of my best friends from this organization. I love that they not only give back to those in need overseas, but locally and even to their own volunteers. They never treated you like worker dogs, but valued your interests, your time, your efforts. The only place I've ever received shirts, food, special invitations as honored volunteers. Volunteering there you feel like every minute you spend counts and unlike a lot of other struggling charity groups everything has been organized and and given top value down to publications, events, merchandise, and facilities. IRUSA is an amazing organization and one of the best things I have in my life to look back on that I feel proud to have been a part of.
I've known and donated to this charity for about 20 years. One thing they have built is reputation and established themselves in the field of charity work, and for a long time were leading in terms of operational efficiency. Given their size, they are still doing pretty well with expenses unlike most of the highly advertised and known secular US charities (look them up on Charity Navigator).
Their established network of operation means you can be more assured they will get to places of need throughout the world. It is heart warming to see positive reviews by the volunteers because they help in reducing overhead of expenses by donating their time.
Beautifully executed. Trusted. Many Causes. Always aware of all causes not just one! Which keeps you motivated to help since its becoming so easy! and IR USA Makes it even Easier.

May Allah bless you guys for your efforts. Thanks for helping and reaching out to people that're in need. I'm glad I got a chance to help those people a little as well. I hope Allah accepts our deeds. Amen!
I volunteered with Islamic Relief during the months of October and November 2018 for their fundraising Event to Benefit the Children in Conflict Zones of Yemen, Syria, Palestine and Myanmar. I also volunteered for their 10k Meal Pack Out. Both experiences were the absolute best I have ever had with volunteering. As a Muslim it is my duty to help others in need and it was fun and well worth every minute I spent doing it and I would do it again if asked. I met some truly amazing people and made quite a few new friends along the way. Alhamdullilah.
Review from Guidestar
I used to be a big donor to IR USA until I found out they were fudging (inflating) their numbers to promote themselves as a big organization. I found out from an article ran by a reputable business journal and I started my own investigation. I have even contacted IR USA on several occasions to get a feedback from them but my calls went unanswered. I then decided to stop supporting them and not trusting them. Its too bad, they have managed to mislead a lot of people, but as the saying goes, fool me once shame on you; fool me twice shame on me.
Review from Guidestar
I'm on the mailing list for Islamic Relief USA and they always seem to be responding the quickest to disasters or emergencies around the world and they tell me what's happening if I can't check the news. As a humanitarian Muslim it's where I choose to donate, because it seems like they respond to needs almost everywhere. I also love the transparency of the organization and their overall values which I feel match my own. I'm definitely will be a long time supporter for years to come.
It's awesome how they're working so hard to help the needy people around the world. May Allah (SWT) give u ajar for this!
I have been a long time supporter and have been a volunteer with IRUSA for almost a year. I have participated in relief and aid efforts that are local (2,000 food box pack-out for local families), national (rebuilding homes for flood victims in North Carolina) , and international (packed 10,000 meals for Uganda and a 120 mile charity bike ride in Turkey to raise funds for water wells in Africa). Every experience I have had with them has been first rate. The staff, events, and efforts are extremely organized, focused, professional, polite and courteous. Their operations are world class and they work with other world class organizations, both faith based and non faith based, to make things happen. There are no political affiliations, it’s just pure charity. They are there wherever there is crisis, wherever long term recovery is needed, and wherever there is need. Donation money is not squandered and is used effectively and my understanding is that more than 90% of donations goes towards projects with the remaining less than 10% towards administrative costs. That’s pretty good! I have met many amazing people, both staff and volunteers, through working with them. I actually wish I could participate more because of how positive the experiences are. Regardless of your faith, Islamic Relief is great charitable organization on all fronts and I highly recommend them to everyone looking for a charity to donate their time and/or to.
We joined IR USA for the cycling challenge in Turkey to raise funds for a borehole in Somalia. It was a really well organised tour. A detailed itinerary was provided before the tour and everything went really smoothly. There were police escorts, an ambulance and a support vehicle with the group at all times. We visited some historic sites in Turkey that otherwise I may never have visited. Finally we arrived in Istanbul and were also taken on a tour around the city. I found the volunteers and organisers from the different countries motivational and we all helped each other through the challenge. Even though we were all from different backgrounds and different pars of the world we were all there for the same reason hence had a common purpose. I participated in a fundraising event with IR USA in Turkey, biking 155 km and raising funds for water projects for Chad and Mali. This was an incredible trip and event! IR USA clearly is a world class non-profit, organising engaging and rewarding fundraising events. I will definitely be planning an annual fundraising trip with them.
The Islamic Relief website is easy to use. I can see exactly where my donations are going to!! I love the blogs and social media posts! they are always active in different communities
Becoming a volunteer for IRUSA was the best decision I have ever made. It is a truly fun experience. The staff makes sure the events are organized which allow for the events to run smoothly and the guests always enjoy their time.
Special thanks to the IRUSA North East team and shout out to Sanat the most amazing Events coordinator!
Islamic Relief USA is a top tier non profit. All of their employees are incredibly motivated and dedicated to helping make the world a better place, and their events are so much fun both for attendees and volunteers alike! The level of professionalism and care with which they handle their events, be it a large gala or a small volunteer event is unparalleled. They are an honor to work with and their work is and will continue to benefit millions in need.
Alhamdulillah, I am glad I find this website, will always donate whenever I can. May Allah bless us all for helping each other in times of need
Amazing Orphanage For The Sake Of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’Allah! May Peace Be With You Thank You And May God The Almighty Bless Protect And Guide Us All Forever To Gardens Of Paradise!!!!!!! ✌️❤️
Islamic relief is the best way to help struggling muslims all over the map from Palestine to Syria, from Dubai to Europe. Globally this organization would provide the during times of need when the politics and governments oppress the populations of human life's. The world is in desperate need of brave people who go out on the limb who risk themselves to assist the needy. IRUSA is a family of people who's support extends their open arms of love to the children while never pressuring people to donate as other organizations do constantly.
People in need depend on such love and support. Keeping people in faith to remind them that no matter hard life gets good people are still out there.
Take care and All Praise is due to Allah.

I hope to give more and that is why I strive hard in life to find success in order to contribute donations. I have always struggled to find work, love, friends, and getting up for fajr.... Well my problems are nothing incomparably to them innocent people.
I lost my brother 5 months ago and I know the pain it brings... He was healthy young and full of goodness yet his life was taken away by the same enemies, corrupt people and evil doers...
May we find peace in this life and the next. And protection from Allah (s.w.t) against the punishment of hellfire the home of the evil ones resting place...
IRUSA (Islamic Relief USA) is among the top leading non-profit organizations that I have known and have witnessed their work in different countries. Though the name might sound like helping only Muslims, but I have seen their projects helping whole community regardless of what their religious believes are. Seeing them working and supported by USAID, UKAID, European Commission and other large donor agencies, also a proof of their credibility which is helpful in knowing that this organization is all good to work with regardless of who you are.

I am a regular donor of Islamic Relief USA and I have worked with this world's renowned charity in South Asia, Africa and USA. I have first-hand experience of how the services are delivered to the people who are in need in some of the world's difficult to reach areas that are affected by disasters, wars and conflicts. Hats off for IRUSA! Keep up the good work. At Islamic Relief, staff not only fulfill their responsibilities but in such a responsible way that most of times they go out of the way. Some times they put their own lives at risk but that is to save many other lives. They work in a professional manner so all the due diligence is done before deploying staff on the ground particularly in war and conflict zones.
IRUSA is such a blessing and all the hard work that they do makes me want to donate even more. As a young a child and until now I have always dreamt of making such a difference in the world and I look forward to the day when I finish my university and I am able to make a direct impact in the children and family lives. A million thanks to this organization and good tidings to all of those who donate and help this wonderful organization.

I am a Muslim convert looking to ensure that I can lend some support to my fellow human beings. The website has a zakaht (charity) calculator which facilitates the process and Islamic Relief has a great variety of programmes and initiatives you can choose from. Our family decided to sponsor an orphan and then I began chatting with a really helpful person from the Islamic Relief who informed me of the places with the most need. This was extremely helpful and the process was easy. Our family looks forward to helping this young person the best we can throughout the year.
Bissmillahullrahmaarahim. I am a muslim brother that has seen his collection of struggle and disarray. Islamic Relief Fund visit my masjid during Ramadan—a year ago, I was not financially stable. I promised myself then, that when I am on my feet that I will not stop the charitable donation for the Umma Inshallah. Thanks be to the help of my entire community. IRU is a continuing benefactor as well as the Sunna that is bestowing me by giving for the afterlife. Ameen Inshallah.

I have been a dedicated donor and volunteer with Islamic Relief since 1999.
I trust them and their professionalism and am thankful that a trustworthy organization like theirs exists so that I, as an unconnected individual, can reach out and help those in need.
Thank you for not forgetting about Yemen. Yemen is facing the world's worst cholera outbreak more than 2,000 people have died from the highly contagious bacterial infection, which can kill within hours if left untreated. There are more than half a million suspected cases of cholera in the country and on average 5,000 new cases are recorded a day.
Which add to the conflict that has killed more than 10,000 people, wounded tens of thousands and displaced millions.
No one knows about this but you guys are still helping. I saw you guys are putting a big effort for the cholera outbreak. Thank you our people need it.
I have been following the tragedy of rohingya people who are fleeing their homes for safety. So many people are being killed and I saw how our donations helped build a refugee camp back in 2012 while this issue was not in the spot light.
5 years later you guys are still helping while other organizations just woke up to the issue. I love how you guys help even without the camera and media being there. It shows that you guys are an org truly trying to help people and not chase cameras. May you be rewarded for the great work you are doing.

Thank you for helping all those refugees coming into Europe. I love the work you do around the world, while helping the refugees an Earthquake hit Afghanistan and you managed to respond to that while also helping in Africa. I feel Islamic Relief is everywhere all the time. May Allah reward you all for the hard work, may Allah also reward your families as well.
This is an incredible, outstanding organization that truly seeks to better the world for the right reasons. In a time when so much suffering is going on around the world (including our brothers and sisters in Burma, Syria, Yemen, and across the world), IRUSA is doing very very important work.
This Islamic relief charity is amazing! They are in places that are hard to reach to give aid to. I'm really glad they exist so I can help my brothers and sisters in Myanmar.. may god be with you and help your staff deliver aid for these oppressed people! Amen
I just donated to this great charity and I feel that I can certainly trust them that the donations will all go to where they were assigned to go just as I chose; they were transparent and clear about where the money will go. I hope they always keep that transparency and only go up from there about transparency.
I used to give zakat to IRUSA but discontinued several years ago because of their very high admin. expenses and much lower expenditure on relief programs compared to some other Islamic charities. Their CEO and other employees are too highly paid (including benefits) for an Islamic charity organization. Just look at their IRS forms 990 available on Charity Navigator. They should fear Allah swt and cease making this a money-making organization for their employees.
Do not forget to check out their IRS forms 990 for the past several years.
I didn't know that the zakat amount includes 12.5% admin fee and other types of donation has 10.68% admin fee.
We as Believers have an Obligation to give, and with our Holy Month Of Ramadan, our giving should be so easy. When we take time to reflect on our daily Blessings, Allah has given us 86,400 seconds, per day, Our Hearts started beating , while we were still in our Mother's Womb, and If we never go into Cardiac Arrest, and we are blessed to live for 90 years, that means our hearts have been beating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, plus Womb Time, for 90 years . How could we ever feel, we don't owe Allah, and feel the need to RUSH AND GIVE, TODAY. [Info removed for confidentiality purposes]. [Info removed for confidentiality purposes]
Inspiring to see people helping one another. In times of dire need we need organizations like IRUSA to step forward and help the umma. May ALLAH accept the donations of people and bless those who are in any way helping to bring about any difference in this world.
Blessed to find an organization that is making a difference in the lives of those who are in such dire need. I have volunteered with IRUSA in the past as well. Anything we can do to make the lives of others better is something we must do for "No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted." - Aesop.
So please, give in whatever capacity you can!
Great work being done for the kids there--program always expanding. Started as a feeding program, then orphanage and now vocational training center off the ground! Phenomenal.
This is a great organization doing charitable work around the world by a group of totally dedicated workers.
I'm an Islamic Relief volunteer and I love how much passion goes into doing the positive and crucial work that's done nationally and internationally!
The first thing I noticed about this organization was how passionate the staff and volunteers were. It was evident that the people there wanted to be there and were helping whole-heartedly. Some of the best and kindest people I've ever met, hands down! I volunteered a few times for them and enjoyed every minute of it!
I research the causes I donate to in order to make sure my money goes where I intend it, and trust Islamic Relief for this. Will continue to support them.
I have volunteered at numerous events with Islamic Relief and I truly love the work they do. I also trust Islamic Relief with my donations and know many people who feel the same.
I trust IRUSA with my donations..hands down! I trust that my money will be going to the exact fund I donate to. I also like how there is such a wide variety of funds I am always able to support. I have never had an issue donating and the website makes it easier too.. overall great organization!
Islamic Relief is dedicated to being involved in communities. They look to build relationships and make changes everywhere they go. They're also honest and open about their work and that's important with non-profit organizations. I love the work they do and appreciate all of their efforts!
I sponsor an orphan in Africa through Islamic Relief. They provided me an opportunity to really make a difference in a child's life and I am forever grateful.
I also volunteered for them many times on many different projects. They are extremely reliable and they really do this work for the sake of humanity. May God reward them for their efforts.
I've been using Islamic Relief USA for all my donations for the last five years. They are professional, dedicated and very organized.
I have been volunteering with Islamic Relief for a few years now and I've always loved the way they have treated me and other volunteers. They are an exciting team/organization to be a part of, especially with the work they've done and the work to come. All their efforts towards helping others in need has been remarkable, and insha Allah many more successful years to come for this organization.
The most trusted charity with reach Throughout the world. I'm confident that my donations to Islamic Relief will reach those in need.
IRUSA is my go to place whenever I need to support the victims of the latest disaster. Love the integrity and consistency of their work. Amazing people, consistent and quality work, and I could not trust anyone better. God bless them for doing this noble work on all our behalf. Thank you IRUSA staff & volunteers.
I have donated with IRUSA over the past 7 years as well as other similar not for profits and charitable organizations but my experience with IRUSA far surpasses that of others. I have always been given updates as to the orphan I've sponsored and know exactly where and to what my money is being used for. They are also great at continuing communication with me as far as new projects or needs and events taking place in my area without being over bearing or too pushy. I have attended some events such as the walk for water in May 2012 and the event was very well organized and appeared to be quite successful and enjoyable all while supporting a great cause. IRUSA is an excellent non profit, they are accessible yet professional and very responsive to the needs of the Muslim world abroad as well as in need communities here in the US.
Can't think of a better organization to support! Islamic Relief is there on the ground, in action, in times of need for a variety of humanitarian crises. They are continuously there with first responders. We always attend and support Islamic Relief events and fundraisers. We hope to volunteer more of our time with IR in the near future! Islamic Relief has proven time and time again that they are here to stay as they serve the needs of the less fortunate all around the world, as without their support they would be in worse situations.
Great organization and thing about the org is they are always looking to cut back on expenses so that majority of donations go to the cause.
I am impressed with the work done by this organization! both on the local, national and global scale. I work for a non for profit agency dealing with domestic violence by providing prevention, intervention and social services for the entire family affected by domestic violence. With the financial support from IRUSA we were able to assist families by providing emergency food vouchers, rental assistance, utilities assistance and free counseling services!! Thank you IRUSA for giving back to the community, special thanks to brother [Info removed for confidentiality purposes] and Brother [Info removed for confidentiality purposes] for recognizing and supporting local agencies.
I am always volunteering for Islamic Relief and I am always impressed of how professional they are. IRUSA is most reliable, caring, honest organization I have delt with. IRUSA are dedicated to work so hard for the people in need non stop.
We've been a part of Islamic Relief for many years and know that what they do phenomenal and selfless. Keep it up.
I usually show up to events ready to help out only to find most of the time they've asked us to come in early just in case and I've wasted the first few hours doing nothing. Islamic Relief USA was coordinated and valued my time as a volunteer. I met a lot of staff that actually loved their job and the mission they believe in. Watching the video at the event made even me, a volunteer, feel like I was a part of something amazing.
Can't think of a better organization to support! Islamic Relief really goes above and beyond in their humanitarian work and provides ample opportunities for ordinary individuals to get involved. They are always on the ground in times of crisis and you can trust them with your donations. Staff are truly passionate about what they do and this shows in their tireless dedication to helping those in need. God bless them for the sacrifices they make on our behalf!
AWESOME organization to volunteer with and donate to! You can see the projects they do in the countries they work in and you can even meet the orphan you're sponsoring. Really shows you that your money is going where you want it to. God bless
Islamic Relief is a phenomenal non-profit organization. It does the work we should all be doing- helping humanity and taking care of the needy. It transforms ordinary volunteers into emergency responders through its excellent trainings. Even its senior leadership is always out on the ground helping the people, risking their lives, and making a difference.
There are many charities to choose from when wanting to help people in need. For me the best experience has been with Islamic Relief. These amazing men and women work tirelessly to help those in need not only in this country but overseas as well. They aren't afraid to go into conflict zones to deliver support and rush to the next one without hesitation. Truly an amazing organization.
Always has great events and opportunities to give back to the community. Events and charity opportunities are always great for the entire family
This organization goes above and beyond to educate and bring the community together! One of the best organizations in the community as well as world wide as this organization aids people both in its vicinity and around the world
[Info removed for confidentiality purposes] and I have worked closely with Islamic Relief over the last few years. I have maintained a close relationship with [Info removed for confidentiality purposes] and [Info removed for confidentiality purposes] and ICPC is always happy to have them.
One of the best most trust worthy organizations I've seen around. No matter what the crisis is whether it may be Syrian refugees in Europe or homeless Americans Islamic relief is there for everybody and that's what I love about them.
We had a great experience with Islamic relief. We feel honored to help not only Muslims but all humans around the world. Amazing humanitarian organization!
Islamic Relief continues to impress me with the services they provide and their effect on humanity. They are always FIRST in responding to the needs of the world and I'm comforted knowing my money is being used effectively.
When I think of donating to any cause, the only organization that comes to mind is Islamic Relief USA. They have great projects here at home and globally.
High quality and timely relief work. Professional correspondences and follow up. One of the best non profits I have ever volunteered and donated to.
I have been donating and volunteering with Islamic Relief for ten years. Two years ago I was given the opportunity to really learn about the great work Islamic Relief does in countries across the world. How they respond to emergencies, how they support development work that benefits, orphans, women and the disadvantaged. It's an honor to be associated with such an effort. The organization also very transparent and showcases where it's money goes very clearly on their website. One great project that I was glad to support recently was the effort to assist refugees who were fleeing from conflict zones like Syria to Europe. Islamic Relief USA was the only Islamic charity or relief organization helping the refugees and that made me proud to support this organization.
It's not the mission or the cause that makes an organization great. it's the people. And working with Islamic Relief USA you get the sense that the directors, volunteers and everyone else in the organization have an intimate understanding of the issues at hand, why it's important to pay attention to these issues, and what they need to do to help improve lives. They get humanity. And that's why they get my donations.
Amazing organazition they're always the first on the ground when a catastrophe happens and I always feel safe donating my money to them
Islamic Relief is such an amazing and inspiring organization. When I became involved with them, I met such amazing and honest people [Info removed for confidentiality purposes]. May Allah bless and reward them iA.
Islamic Relief is a great organization that does simply amazing things! I was most moved when I participated in the emergency response team during [Info removed for confidentiality purposes] to help those in Staten Island. The impact on those affected was tremendous! Proud to be a supporter of this wonderful organization!
The only organization when I hear of highly trusted and professional charity the first thing I think of is Islamic Relief (IR). All the employees in IR that I know of are highly qualified individuals who has a passion to make a difference. I highly recommend supporting this charity organization.
Working with Islamic Relief was an eye opening experience. With their aid, my community was able to reach out to those less fortunate around us. This organisation has strengthened the bonds of the communities it works with and inspires the youth to be proactive.
Islamic Relief does great work for community, providing aid and services to the needy. They are quick to respond to disasters. I fully trust Islamic Relief to utilize my donations for the right causes.
Such an amazing charity to work with on all levels. Never saw volunteering as so much fun until i started volunteering with Islamic Relief. A pleasure to be a part of this organization.
Great experience all around! Islamic Relief does beneficial work for the community and has always gone out of their way to making volunteer opportunities possible.
They are orgaized, have a low overhead, amazing volunteers, and this organization does a great job informing Donors and potential Donors about their projects.
I have been involved with Islamic Relief since 2001. The work that they do here in America and Internationally has been spectacular. I am blessed to be a part of this organization for their great work, and partnerships. Working together for a better world.
Great organization doing great work.True to their slogan where there is pain and grief there's Islamic Relief.
Hi Islamic Relief, my children really loved the food packing for Ramadan. It made them feel like they were making a difference. Please post any opportunities you have this winter, they would love to help over winter break. Keep up the great work

I have donated to many charities in the past but I have not seen people who work as hard as the people do in Islamic Relief USA. Even at 18% overhead they still do great work in doubling their donations. When the crisis hit in Palestine they are the only organization I trust that is getting the work and necessities to the people.
They are very transparent and when I contact them they are very responsive.
I see people complain a lot about fraud, but they fail to see it's accusations. It takes 1 second to google the truth! And the salary of the ceo is less than most other charity ceo's!!!! One has given a Japanese CEO for example, yet doesn't know Japanese people pay in big bonusses... 90k salary + 300-500k bonusses ;)
I was a regular donor to IRUSA...not anymore.
After reading some of the comments on this website and Googled reviews and info about IRUSA, I have concluded they are not the organization for me.
Clearly, form their responses to negative reviews they have not been forthcoming to donor's concerns and questions and in my opinion they are hiding their shortcomings.
Edit: To reviewer [Info removed for confidentiality purposes]: Actually, I am writing this as a personal review just as you are supposedly, although you claim to have written before, but you are writing under multiple different member names? Sounds like fraud to me. And also, none of this is fluff, it's the truth. Look up the topic for yourself unless you would like for me to create you a source list? Several sources I mention include this very site and others in the field of philanthropy. Also, the point is that you're mistaking transparency for "fraud" at a time when the industry itself is changing. You say: "I find the editorial, In my opinion, full of fluff and lacks substance," but can you tell me who these other successful and notable charities with no overhead are? Are you quite certain that you know all the details of how these supposedly no overhead organizations fund their operations? I can give you an example: Famously, Smile Train, an organization that treats children born with cleft lip and palate conditions, has claimed that “100 percent of your donation will go toward programs … zero percent goes to overhead.” Nevertheless, the fine print goes on to say that this is not because the organization has no overhead; rather, it is because Smile Train uses contributions from “founding supporters” to cover its nonprogram costs. Interesting right? The point I was making is that donors hurt charities ability to grow and have greater reach and impact in the work they do, with this argument about overhead and salaries alleged "financial fraud". This is a real trend in the industry and humanitarian work is suffering because of it. And as far as your questions go, much of that information is public knowledge, like the salary of a CEO, which isn't what you or any other negative reviewer reported. And also, that IRUSA was somehow exposed by the media, which isn't true, they were one of few organizations to blow the whistle on and move away from practices of drug company intermediaries and their valuing system when providing/selling medicines to charities. ... The U.S. department of agriculture is one of many who continued this even in recent years. Now that should be upsetting to you. These are my answers that I found out on my own READING. You can too. This is in response to any negative reviews about administrative costs, financial audits, and whatever other issues you may have about the "logic" of financing a charity that actually reaches millions of people in need every single year and growing. If you are negatively reviewing a for all intents and purposes stellar Islamic organization that is reputable in the United States and globally on the basis of bogus theories about how much it costs to finance any charitable operation and deliver reporting on those operations, you have personal agendas and issues that extend way beyond the scope of this response. I will say that every donor should change their mentality about what it means to give charity, and serious think, with your brain, about how many people Islamic Relief USA is able to benefit with every single donation it collects. And then consider, very carefully, with your educated brain, how effective your say, $100 donation would be in terms of a dollar/reach ratio. Rather than focus on a very traditional, and illogical logic, of the weight of administrative costs to deliver quality services to ENTIRE COMMUNITIES of people in need (a logic that actually hurts non-profit organizations and charitable groups from growing), you should consider a much more sound and positive logic that considers effectiveness per donor dollar. In other words, for every dollar you give to a charity, how much work does that dollar do in your name? How many people does it help and touch? And, would you be able to have the same reach with your dollar if you chose to deliver that dollar on your own? The answer is NO. Long-term stability of development and humanitarian work SHOULD be part of what you consider when you choose to donate to an organization. You really need to get beyond this notion of "overhead" as an indicator of charity performance because ACTUALLY it's been proven to NOT be a valid indicator, on its own, of the quality of organization you are donating to. This very website, which you are so callously using as your platform to bash charities is one of many that have denounced this practice in ranking charities, in addition to Charity Navigator, the BBB, Guidestar and more. This practice actually starves nonprofits from investing in themselves to build decent infrastructures that ARE NOT CORRUPT and actually provide QUALITY SERVICES to the people who need them in addition to creating jobs, advocating for change on major issues, and more. Organizations that are trying to build a sturdy and robust infrastructure that includes information technology systems, financial systems, skills training, fundraising processes, and other essential overhead, succeed in delivering charitable services MORE EFFECTIVELY and EFFICIENTLY than those that do not, not mention help provide millions of jobs that are lacking in a broken worldwide economy. Yet, you should know, it is also a fact that MANY GOOD NONPROFITS are actually NOT SPENDING ENOUGH on building this infrastructure according to many experts in the field. Did you know, that the Charities Review Council has maintained a Use of Funds standard that calls for nearly 30% of expenses on admin and fundraising combined for nonprofit organizations and that this percentage has been expanded to include up to 40% recommended? Here's just one example, and there are many more studies like it: "Underfunding overhead can have disastrous effects, finds the Nonprofit Overhead Cost Study, a five year research project conducted by the Urban Institute’s National Center for Charitable Statistics and the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University. The researchers examined more than 220,000 IRS Form 990s and conducted 1,500 in-depth surveys of organizations with revenues of more than $100,000. Among their many dismaying findings: nonfunctioning computers, staff members who lacked the training needed for their positions, and, in one instance, furniture so old and beaten down that the movers refused to move it. The effects of such limited overhead investment are felt far beyond the office: nonfunctioning computers cannot track program outcomes and show what is working and what is not; poorly trained staff cannot deliver quality services to beneficiaries." In short, YOU, negative reviewers and your concerns about overhead are actually really ignorant and hurtful to people working really hard everyday to dedicate their lives to making the world a better place. You are contributing to a vicious cycle that corrupts organizations more than you may be aware of. It's a cycle that goes something like this: 1. You have unrealistic expectations about how much it costs to run a nonprofit and what it means to have your money do work to deliver aid. 2. You pressure nonprofits to conform to your unrealistic expectations. 3. Nonprofits respond to this pressure in two ways: They spend too little on overhead, and they underreport their expenditures on tax forms and in fundraising materials. 4. This underspending and underreporting in turn perpetuates funders’ unrealistic expectations. 5. Over time, funders expect grantees to do more and more with less and less—a cycle that slowly starves nonprofits. Research concludes that the first of these steps is the most detrimental and you really need to realize the impact your negative reviews have without sound basis for argument. For example, it's often seen that in an effort to appease donors like you, nonprofits won't offer competitive salaries for qualified specialists, and so instead make do with hires who lack the necessary experience or expertise. Similarly, many organizations that limit their investment in staff training find it difficult to develop a strong pipeline of senior leaders. This is just one point among many. GOOD CHARITIES SPEND MORE ON "ADMIN" BUT IT'S NOT MONEY WASTED AND IS NOT DETACHED FROM DELIVERING QUALITY AID TO PEOPLE IN NEED. That's not to say Islamic Relief USA is perfect or that there aren't areas where it can't improve in the industry, but ultimately, IRUSA is a growing organization, growing in the face of adversity I should remind you, and yet maintains a good reputation in the industry for the work its doing and how it's doing it. And they continue to keep working to improve because they are faith-based, and are aware of the moral and ethical concerns that must be grappled with when it comes to how to best reach people in need with the money of good people. That being said, IRUSA's CEO is actually UNDERPAID by industry standards. The $250K number that you all pulled up without checking for yourselves is WRONG. This is public information that you can find yourselves if you choose to be educated. And honestly, maybe IRUSA should have a CEO paid $250K, and maybe underpaid staff who risk their lives every day to deliver services or who work long hours to reach people in need and develop programs should be compensated for their skills and time. Then you would have the best of the best working for your charity rather than APPLE or FACEBOOK. Anyway, some considerations ... Choose to listen to the neighing and gossip of the masses or educate yourselves on how to really support GOOD organizations who you can help to benefit humanity in the long-term.
I've volunteered and donated to their various programs. I am familiar with a number of their employees and they are great people, both personally and professionally. IR USA has a number of programs to address the various needs of people around the world. Knowing that their overhead is so low it's a good charity to donate to.
To the guy with the bad review - please read up on the great work they've done and please stop criticizing an entire organization based on a few honest mistakes.
Best Muslim charity by far. I just ready some stupid review of Financial fraud. How stupid can people be mistaking transparency with fraud. Tired of Muslims only criticizing good Muslims do. May Allah guide them
Obviously most of the reviews here are written by Islamic Relief themselves to boost their rating or status. I on the other hand am not a member anymore and regretted giving them so much in donation over a ten year period until I discovered their financial deception. I have made several requests to talk to someone at Islamic Relief to explain their deception but no one has ever returned my calls. Every time I call their office I get the same answer that no one was in the office and they are travelling.
I am not making up a story here. Please check out their tax forms, it is all in black and white and do your math. They are only giving out about 60% of donated money to the poor and the rest is admin fees, salaries, travel expenses and reserve as assets. I am outraged to learn that the money I was giving out to the poor ended up fattening IRUSA wallets and paid over $250K in CEO salaries and benefits. It is charity for God sake not a business.
IRUSA need to come clean and explain their position, otherwise they will be losing many donors.

Islamic Relief USA 08/05/2014
Thank you for your concern. We are happy to answer your questions. Islamic Relief USA has always maintained low overhead costs. Charity watchdogs recommend that nonprofits spend at least 60% to 65% of their revenues on programs. In 2013, fully 83% of donations given to Islamic Relief USA went to emergency relief and development programs, directly helping people in need. Prior to 2011, IRUSA utilized a standard method of valuing pharmaceuticals that was in line with current industry standards at the time, which was according to U.S. wholesale market prices. The industry trend began changing in 2011 with a push for more conservative methods of valuation. In 2011, IRUSA voluntarily decided to adjust our valuation method, and adopted the industry's most conservative standard of valuation --- in accordance with their market value in their destination countries. We understood when making this change that it would appear to be a drop in our organization's revenues, making our overhead costs appear higher in proportion. Our overhead expenses have not increased, and our donations have remained steady. Most importantly, we are sending more aid to beneficiaries in need around the world than ever before. In addition, the CEO salary for the year you referenced -- while on par with median CEO compensation for large nonprofits -- has not been standard at Islamic Relief USA. Our current CEO's salary for 2014 is much lower, and it's less than half of average for CEOs at nonprofits of comparable size. We remain committed to the beneficiaries we serve and grateful to our generous donors, and welcome the opportunity to answer questions at any time on our approach. Ultimately, we believe the measure of our impact is felt most by our beneficiaries, and take the utmost care to ensure each person is positively impacted and treated with dignity. We encourage donors to visit our website to learn more about the impact IRUSA has had in the places we serve. We apologize that you were unable to reach the staff members you attempted to contact. Please feel free to contact us with any questions and concerns, and we would be happy to speak with you. Our call center staff are available from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern time to assist donors and answer questions. In addition, our 2013 IRS form 990 will soon be available on our website, and we think you will be pleased with it. Thank you for your interest in Islamic Relief USA.
I love the work you do and how you help countries around the world. I love you mission on helping anyone regardless of Religion or Color or ethnicity. You make me proud to be Muslim and I am honored to be associated with you guys. you are doing great work and great relations with the government.
I just had an event for the birth of my child. They have an amazing peer to peer on their site. I managed to tell people not to bring gifts but instead help the people of Gaza. Their staff where very helpful in getting it set up for me and I tracked all the donations for my event surprisingly I actually doubled what I thought I would receive. Keep up the great work IRUSA
I LOVE ISLAMIC RELIEF. I have been a volunteer for well over 5 years now, i have traveled for Islamic relief, been trained with IR , as well as worked with the CEO first hand and have to say he is the most humble, and down to earth humanitarian I have met in my life. After meeting him, I was confident that the money is going to the right place. I am always skeptical about sending money for causes, and the ONLY organization i trust, and request everyone to trust and donate to is Islamic relief. They are in so many parts of the world providing aid, and everyone knows who they are for their amazing efforts in emergency aid, medical aid/ supplies, shelter operations, psychological, and first aid, as well as funding, and sending supplies to those in need.
I've been a member of this org as a donor for sometime now and I've witnessed first hand the difference they make on the ground. They've been quite instrumental in delivering timely support and assistance to those in need and I thank them immensely. HB, Australia
They are so great! They help so many people and are really professional and kind. They are so kind and have such giving hearts! Your donation will really go a long way and help those in need because this organization uses it wisely and your donation will be greatly appreciated!
Islamic Relief offers many beneficial services around the globe to help alleviate humanity's suffering. i feel comfortable donating through their secure website. I encourage anyone looking to donate funds to consider Islamic Relief.
thank you for being there when people need you. You have changed the world and have been bringing happiness to people's life
Knowing to whom and for what to donate for charity is always a struggle, but through a consistent service, quality performance, and, most importantly, a great deal of trust, Islamic Relief has always shown me that they are the most reliable and reputable charity to which I can entrust my funds, whether it's for Zakah, humanitarian relef, or any other charitable project.
I have worked many times with and seen many of the individuals that work with and for Islamic Relief, and they have all been outstanding people of great integrity. Every experience I've had with Islamic Relief since I've known about them has been a positive one, and I rarely choose to donate elsewhere.
I have volunteered for this organization and they have conducted excellent charity work on the ground. They have gone above and beyond expectations, I truly believe that this organization provides the utmost good and care for all whom they support.
I have been contributing to Islamic Relief USA for the past several years. This organization makes it very easy for us to fulfill the responsibility of paying zakah and I feel very confident that the donations are used for the maximum benefit for those in need. I recently had several questions and the staff were extremely responsive and helpful through email communications. I highly recommend this organization as the means through which the less fortunate can receive needed help.
I love IRUSA because they carry me along with the situation on ground in the areas I have contributed to. I know what happens to the people there and how in my little way I have contributed to it. As a result, it makes me want to contribute more! They also make me aware of places around the world that needs help, I probably wouldn't be aware of them if not for iRUSA. And finally, by making donations through IRUSA I am about to fulfill my Deen with Allah and learn more about Islam. May Aallah continue to bless the people running the organization, May Allah bless those who contribute with their money and those who assist with their body and finally those people in desperate need of our assistance. THEY ARE HONORABLE ORGANIZATION AND I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM TO EVERYONE.
They are absolutely fantastic. I sponsored an orphan and got immediate news on the very person I had sponsored. Now, I'm just a donor who attends their events, and all of them are well done. I'm really proud to be someone supporting the many wonderful projects they have.

"They ask thee ([Info removed for confidentiality purposes]) what they should spend (in charity). Say: Whatever you spend that is good is for parents and kindred and orphans and those in want and for wayfarers. And whatever you do that is good Allah knows it well." Q2:215. Our beloved prophet (PBUH) said: "Every Muslim has to give in charity." The people asked, "O Allah's Prophet! If someone has nothing to give, what will he do?" He said, "He should work with his hands and benefit himself and also give in charity (from what he earns)." The people further asked, "If he cannot find even that?" He replied, "He should help the needy who appeal for help." Then the people asked, "If he cannot do that?" He replied, "Then he should perform good deeds and keep away from evil deeds and this will be regarded as charitable deeds." (Bukhari 2.524)
I am glad that I was able to find a website to donate money to orphans in different countries. Thank you for providing the wonderful service to make it easy for the people who are willing to help the most needy in this world.
I like IRUSA because they are not pushy and demanding. They don't send me a lot of emails or postal mail. They do, however, send me beautiful return address labels periodically, which I appreciate greatly! These people do wonderful work and know just where money is needed. I always donate on the website because it is fast, easy, and convenient. I will continue to give to them as much as I can.
Helpful customer service. Convenient donation methods. Reach places that other relief agencies do not reach.
I donate to IRUSA because I see the direct impact that my donations have on the needy. I am really grateful for the You Tube videos that the IRUSA posts about the humanitarian aid it provides to various countries--it really shows that my money is being put to good use!
For the past couple of years I almost exclusively donate to IRUSA, I trust that my donation will be delivered to the needy, they work across the globe so I can pick and chose the causes that are closest to my heart. I have also volunteered with them during Sandy in NYC. The volunteering chapter of IR is not the most organized but the synergy of all people involved make up for this shortcoming. I highly recommend Islam Relief USA.
Very professional and trustworthy. Whenever I contact customer service, they always respond promptly.

Professional, heard about them from an article on Yahoo about charitable organizations in US. I asked my friends about them, they recommended them highly.

Very professional and organized charity that has its ducks in a row and its intentions in the correct place. I trust this charity to make the most out of my donations. Islamic relief seems to be getting better every year, and I think it will continue to be successful in the years to come.
I have used this multiple times for emergency relief this year. And each time, they have done it right and they also send mails asking for more donation.
Thoroughly professional and trustworthy organization. I greatly appreciate all that the volunteers do
Islamic Relief is always updated on the most urgent and needy cases around the world. It is a great tool for [Info removed for confidentiality purposes].
Islamic Relief is truly a wonderful organization! Absolutely trustworthy and honorable - it makes me feel comfortable and satisfied that my donations are fully going to those in need. Thank you for your continued generous efforts around the world, and for making it easy for people like us to donate as we strive to make as much of a difference as we can!
Islamic Relief is one charitable organization that I can trust in a heartbeat. I have never felt any sense of insecurity or ever doubted their services. they go far beyond the call of duty in serving the less fortunate in the United States as well as across the globe! May Allah bless IRUSA with success and fulfill all their pure goals! Ameen!
I am out of country in the USA this Eid ul Adha and wanted to make an online donation for [Info removed for confidentiality purposes]. Islamic Relief was known to me before through its various relief efforts in Pakistan and someone at the local mosque here also recommended Islamic Relief when I inquired about local [Info removed for confidentiality purposes] options. The website was simple and straightforward. I got to my desired section with a few clicks. I liked the professionalism - different rates are listed per country, there is an upfront disclaimer about some part of the donation going (understandably) toward administrative costs. Payment options were also simple and inclusive. All in all a good experience. With Islamic Relief, I am confident that my donation will be put to good use.
Islamic Relief USA is an outstanding and Trustworthy charity organization that delivers immediate assistance to those who are in need regardless of their origins, ethnicity or religion. As Muslims we should be proud of this great charity organization which practices the true meaning of Islam in helping any needy humane being and stepping up to every humanitarian crisis or challenge. Great organization. Very professional. Used them for years now. Will continue to use them for charity. May they be rewarded for all the work they are doing and all the people they are helping.
Even though I work in a corporate world and mostly think about career advancements it makes it easy for me with a great peace of mind - that I can send donations to any place I feel needs it - with clicks of few buttons and selections in cozy environment. Its more easy than buying a product online - because I know it will benefit the needy - thanks to Islamic Relief. I sometimes justify to myself about running behind career advancements because atleast a minute portion of what I get out of it would benefit the real needy through Islamic Relief.
Alsalaam alaikum,
I had a great experience using Islamic Relief's site for donating. It gave me their tax ID #. To make things easier for doing my taxes, at the end of the year IR will also be sending me a receipt in the mail with a list of the donations I made that year. I feel that IR is very passionate about helping the people that need aid most around the world. So far I have nothing negative to say about this organization, and I would love to see our donations make a difference InshAllah.
My first experience working with this organization was refreshing. However as each year passed by, I came in contact with a large variety of people and organizations who had been dealing with Islamic Relief much longer. I had been warned, but dismissed the warnings. Then gradually the employees of IR, at the time multi-cultural, multi-faith, multi-race group, had been replaced by 90% Arab/Arab American.
Although they retained a handful of "American" employees, the majority are Arab and many are family members. My last few encounters with them were not pleasant. The "New" Board started replacing employees who were productive and brought "American" organizations in the loop. We had several programs being funded by IR on a yearly basis, which required occasional audits by IR retained CPA.
Problems came about when the young inexperienced, newly graduated CPA felt his "Opinion" was the "Rule" rather than a suggestion. During the audit, he made several "suggestions", in which our Director took notes. He also gave his opinion on what he "thought" "might be considered inappropriate" practice and advised us to discontinue. On which the Director thanked him for his observation. Over all he stated that the audit went well and he did not foresee any problems.
However one month later he sent the report to our organization indicating that he could not complete it until we complied with his "suggestions". Another words he insisted that ALL of his suggestions be corrected immediately. These were internal situations that had nothing to do with applying for grants with IR. This continued for over 5 months; five months of wasting our valuable time. In which we continually thanked him for his advise and "Suggestions", however we would not comply at the time he requested.
During this five month period, our organization applied for our usual 3 grants and heard nothing back from IR. They did not even update the online application process. We were told several times to re-apply, because they lost the information. So to the point, after being audited, in which we did not comply in a timely manner to the CPA's "suggestions". After applying and re-applying for our yearly grants; one year later we were informed that we would no longer receive grants from Islamic Relief because they felt we were "Cheating".
But they still wanted us to host their "National Event". My suggestion to all the American non-profit organizations that don't deal with International affairs; stay away from organizations that fund outside the USA.... it will bite you in the end. Our government makes them "comply" to very strict rules, which local organizations are NOT required to comply with. That grant money is not worth the headache IR will give you anlong with the slander they spread about your organization when you refuse to comply!!!
They helped to orphans, refugees, disabled people, elders, poor people, all kind of women, and many more.
Superb organization that provides an easy-to-use and relevant means to donate to important causes. Islamic relief is professional and allows me to donate in a manner consistent with my religious values. Thanks for providing a first rate service to help those in need.
Great organization. They are vetted by the U.S. government, and for SURE they do not support terrorist activities. The donations all go to truly needy people all over the world. One nice thing about their website (other than it is so easy to use) is that you can choose exactly which country or cause you want your money to go to, or you can just choose to allocate your donation to their general donation funds. They are so highly respected, that the U.S. federal government has designated Islamic Relief as one of the organizations that they will match donations for. Nothing shady about this organization. I highly recommend it to anyone, regardless of your religion, if you are looking for a great cause to donate your money to, whether it be Zakah money, Udhiya ([Info removed for confidentiality purposes]) money, or general [Info removed for confidentiality purposes] money. They also have an online Zakah calculator, so you can easily calculate how much Zakah you owe annually. I have recommended their website to many friends and family members, and all of them have also had glowing reviews.
I absolutely love Islamic Relief USA. The best non profit organization I have ever came across with. There are there wherever needed regardless of what part of the world and or any religion. They are completely non biased. May God give them rewards of all the exceptional work that they have done and will continue doing.
I will love to do volunteer work for Islamic Relief USA.
Islamic Relief brings aid to where it's most needed, be it refugee camps or natural disaster zones. They also serve the hungry and thirsty all over the world, and encourage volunteering and unity in communities. Whenever I donate to IR, I am confident that my donation is going somewhere worthwhile.
This is by far the most well-respected, honest and efficient global nonprofit organization. Their goodness has touched the lives of millions and millions of people around the world, Muslims and Non-Muslims alike. Thank you so much for making a difference in this world. You deserve the highest ratings possible. Keep up the good work!
There's nothing more important than being part of the mission God has put us to.
This organization is blessed in a way that participants can get involved with fundraisers, dinners, programs and all forms of charity to help make a difference. I'd say donate, donate, donate! Let's make a difference
This is a fantastic organization with programs all over the world. They make it easy to donate and there is a veritable buffet of programs and options to choose from.
Islamic Relief makes it so easy to donate to people in need. You can always feel assured that your money is really making a difference in people's lives, from the poor to the orphans to anyone else who needs it.
Islamic Relief makes it very easy to donate to different countries, causes, and programs. The website is very easy to use, and you get an email verification quickly after. You will also receive a paper receipt if you choose to file it with your taxes. I trust this particular organization more than other charities that are out there. Any new disaster that might occur, I'm immediately notified on whether I would like to donate to help out. As long as I can, I will use Islamic Relief for my charitable donations.
May Allah reward everyone at Islamic Relief for all of the work they are doing to help alleviate suffering across the globe. They are a trusted and reliable charity and I highly recommend to others.
I trust Islamic Relief USA more than any other charity because of their dedication they have shown towards helping humanity for the past few decades, and their responsibility in doing so. I feel good knowing that the money I'm giving is being put to good use.
iRUSA has shown commitment to help the needy without regard to race or religion. A big portion of the donations goes to humanitarian aid compare to other shark table organizations.
I knew IRUSA though a good friend that mentioned he knows one of the board members ... knowing someone inside gave me confidence.
IRUSA gives a v. good description of cases/people we are donating to. Every time I read a case, I immidiately donate.
I have been using this website for most of my donations since 2008 & no issues so far.
I have been donating through this website and will continue to do so as long as I have the ability to donate. Islamic Relief is a company that I can trust with my donations and know that more money is going to the actual designated recipient here than with any other organization that I'm aware of. IR does great work both domestic and abroad. I really can't say enough great things about this organization and regularly encourage others to also send their donations through IR.
Carry on the good work, may you be blessed for your efforts in this life and the hereafter.
i was looking for a site that was quick and user friendly to donate monthly in sponsoring an orphan in a country that needs it badly. i looked at many sites before deciding to finally go with this one. it was very easy, accessible, and to the point. i quickly found the section i was looking for, and the transaction took no time at all! i highly recommend this website for anyone who would like to donate to a great cause.
I have definitely encouraged many of my friends to donate and participate in donating with Islamic Relief Foundation because I feel that anything I donate is in good use and I have the option of choosing where I want to donate and many other great programs like sponsering an orphan. I just registered to sponser an orphan every month and I feel great that I'm given this opportunity to help the less fortunate alhamdulilah.
3 years i have been use this website just to know about the pray time ,but when i see the video and the donation site and many other thing i relize that we are talking about a really huge helpful site .not like others. you should donote ,you shoud feel them, we are in peace they are in war, we have parents they don't , we are young they are kids ,we are here looking to others reviews they are there waiting for your donate to eat or to get bed sheet ...please my brothers and sister feel them i beg you all.
Alhamdulillah, I am very grateful to have Islamic Relief consistently ensure my [Info removed for confidentiality purposes] and [Info removed for confidentiality purposes] delivered to the genuinely deserved recepients to any place of my choice. Your outreach is amazing as I am able to choose any country, at any time without any hassle. The online donation is secured and very easy. Thanks to all brothers and sisters working very hard to alleviate pain and sufferings and making dreams come true for many all over the world. May Allah Azwajal accept us all, Ameen. Muslimah
One of the most, if not the most trust-worthy non-profits. I know that each time I donate, my contribution is being put to good use and is used to make an impact. The work they do is inspirational.
Islamic Relief is one of the best charities. Their motto is simple: Help Humanity in distress - wherever it be. I became aware of them nearly 10 years ago and discovered that they are one of the most efficient in using the funds for the needy. May Allah continue to give them success in thier endeavor!
I was amazed to see their global presence in all disaster stricken countries. I m hopeful that my donation would be utilized efficiently for the service of humanity. I can now do more for my community apart from my heartfelt prayers.
Islamic Relief USA always responds quickly to any disaster, and there are many programs you can help out with. It is great that there is a trustable organization such as Islamic Relief USA!
IR makes it pretty easy to donate. I've donated to many causes as well as set up a continuous donation to Sponsor an Orphan. I received an orphan report as well. Very trustworthy- and they're always responding quickly and kindly to my many emails asking dozens of questions! :) My go-to organization for relief donations.
Very user friendly website for those wanting to make a quick donation. I wanted to donate some money for the Syrian Crisis, and I appreciated that you could specify which relief effort you wanted your donation to go towards.
One of the best charity organizations around. They are very professional and provide very good programs to help people in need around the world. We need to support more such organizations.

IRW is present whenever a disaster strikes somewhere, pretty much a same day response. Their website is easy to use and very informative about the work they are doing on the ground. This is one of the best Charitable organizations around, not only for Disaster relief but also for the on-going support in some of the areas of the world that need it.
An Amazing charity that tries its best to use each donation to the full benefit of people in need. I always am glad to donate through them because I know my money is being put to good use. Would highly recommend!
This is an amazing organization. Everything is so easy and organized and at the same time they cover so many areas. I want to thank all people involved into this project - you are changing the world.
Excellent organization. Well developed website with easy user access and timely emails regarding devastating conditions suffered by our brethren in humanity.
These guys are very helpful and very good. They really have access to all the war-torn areas unlike any other charity out there.
Review from CharityNavigator
asalamualykum i was really sad about the situation that was going on in Palestine and i didn't know how to help out. i felt guilty every day living a peaceful life while they were suffering .. but alhamdulilah for this program i saw it and right away donated.. iA lets donate to help our people out and iA the money will be added to our bank in the next world where its multiplied. together we can make a difference.. asalamualykum
Great charity! Lots of detail about where your money is going on their website, many projects to chose from and see them on the ground whenever there's a disaster. The fact that they partner with other nonprofits to have immediate impact seals the deal for me!
The website is very easy to use, the donation process is clear and simple, and they keep meticulous records. They do a great job in getting aid to where it is needed, especially areas where many charities don't have the ability to do so. I always feel comfortable when I donate through them.
donation online process was very easy, makes doing the Eid Udhia (Adha-feast sacrifice) process for those of us who live outside Muslim countries a very easy process, god bless their efforts
Appreciate the good work they are doing. A good charity to donate to. They reach out and help the people who really need assistance.
Excellent charity. Website is easy to use and very informative. Fills a great need in the Muslim community.
salamun alaiklum... i wish our kurbani donations will be done via calling our names during the time of slaughtering the animlas...
Thank you for making it so easy to make my charitible contribution to the hungry people around the world.
awesome and easy to use website. just pick whichever campaign you want to donate to, enter the amount, and click donate. easy!
I have been associated with Islamic Relief for more than 10 years. I highly recommend this organization for the outstanding work they are doing in areas of the world where it is exceedingly difficult to deliver any services to save lives. I would venture to say they go where no other charity will or can go.
Excellent organization! very organised. I never faced with them any hassle or complications in making a donation. Islamic Relief USA is always keen on sending documentation for your donation. They offer the donor many options to donate for. When there is any calamity taking place in some place in the world, I go to Islamic Relief assured that I will find them offering donation options for such cause, and they never failed me!!! Great Job! Keep going!!!
Amazing organization. It's obvious to see that they truly benefit the world in such a beautiful way. I attend their fundraising events whenever they're in my area, and I love them. I'm just a donor for now, but I do intend to volunteer with them as well in the near future.
Very respectable organization. Gives the donor numerous options for types of donations and projects. Donation process is quick and straight forward.
Professional, transparent, quick. I have previously volunteered for this organization and now am a donor. I have even met their ground staff in India and I know they work really hard to support orphans, poor and needy.
I came across Islamic Relief by coincidence when I was surfing the net. I was hesitant at first, but when I explored the site and read some reviews, I decided to go ahead and do my zaka and udhiya through the website. I like the fact that it gives you the option to choose where you want your donation to go. I find it very convenient way to donate, and a great avenue to give back.
first time i encountered islamic relief USA was when a rep came and gave us a Friday Khotba at our Mosque ([Info removed for confidentiality purposes]) in Memphis, TN. I checked out the website and ever since i started my very first donation thru the website, i haven't stopped since and they encouraged me to do more and feel better about myself. Thank you for having an avenue for muslims around the US to be able to participate and help even with monetary needs and be able to represent islam in its best shape as Allah thru our prophet intended to represent. Please continue the effort you guys are doing a great and may Allah grant you more hasanat.
Very reliable, and timely when answering questions or addressing concerns. Network reaching needy communities wide and far.
Good people trying to make the world a better place for all of us. Support them! I used to donate money, but will start volunteering with my time as well.
Easy, quick and most importantly you feel good your donation is helping others less fortunate - alhamdoullah
My most favorite charity organization. They have so many projects all over the world, it is just amazing. I have been donating to Islamic Relief for many years now and have always found their service to be outstanding.
Excellent charity with a world renowned reputation. Most if not all of our charitable contributions are given to IR. Very well organized with a great mission.
I've been giving the bulk of my donations to IR for the past 8 years. They are very good about detailing what they're doing with their donations and they are consistently among the first to respond to disasters and emergencies. I trust them with my money.
I have been using Islamic Relief USA for the past ten years. they have always exceeded my expectations. I was most impressed with the variety of venues where you can spend your donation locally and abroad. you will always get a receit of your donation and at the end of the year you will receive an annual summary of all your donations. May Allah reward them for this great service they are giving us in helping us perform our islamic giving obligation.
Islamic Relief is a reliable organization that donates to people in need all around the world who we can not reach on our own. I have friends who work for the organization and know that they have the lowest retainage fees of any NFP of its size that I know. Rest assured your money will be in good hands and your good deeds will be rewarded.
Islamic Relief makes it easy for donors to not only donate funds, but also to donate toward a cause of their choice. Additionally, by allowing donors numerous options ranging from making the mandatory Zakah payment to sponsoring an orphan, Islamic Relief provides individuals with numerous opportunities through which to contribute to the Islamic community at large. Finally, Islamic Relief is an extremely professional and trustworthy organization--it is definitely on my list of organizations to which I will continue to make donations in the future i'A.
IRUSA enables every donor to reach most of the places in the world where donations are required. May [Info removed for confidentiality purposes] bless each and every one of the people who work for IRUSA. I personally feel that there is a way to reach the people who are in most need.
As a Muslim american woman who cannot fast for Ramadan due to health impairment , I needed a trustworthy reliable organization to pay my [Info removed for confidentiality purposes]. I have been donating to Islamic relief USA for 3 years during Ramadan. I am confident that the money I give is allotted the way that I intend it to. There are so many different and specific causes that I can support, and the checkout was quick, secure and simple. Alhumdullilah.
I went to a fundraiser that Islamic Relief held for Syria. Great job. I can safely donate my money to them and know that it is going to deserving people and those who are suffering. Thanks!
I got introduced to this org. through Facebook. thank you for making it possible for me and others to take part on your work, and help those in need. I will definitely come back.
I have been donating to Islamic Relief Pakistan Chapter for the last seven years and have seen them deliver services in some of the most remote and difficult terrains. I have a great faith in their services and would urge other colleagues to donate to their charity as they try to utilize the donation amount in best possible and a transparent manner. And YES the impact of their work is visible around the globe.
feels great to be a part of such an amazing cause..may Allah give us all enough so we can keep on giving and reviving the purity of our money. Aameen :)
I first learned about Islamic Relief USA through a friend of mine. Who volunteered for their Detroit Homeless program. We were both interested on making a difference in people's lives so we joined their 1 net fight malaria in Africa program. Although I wasn't able to get involved extensively I did feel like I was making a difference. Unlike some other non-profit (e.g. ACCESS or LIFE) I have worked for or known about, this organization seemed to be inclusive of everyone, regardless of gender, ethnicity or background everyone was treated with respect. After many years later now I became a donor. About half of my paycheck goes to Islamic Relief every ramadan (not counting other times). I honestly feel I am making a difference. Some people may think 100% of the donation will go to charities, it is not. Administrative cost is a big issue too. However I am happy to know that more than 80% of my donation goes to the cause I'm supporting.
Very noble charity and excellent service! Have been a donor for a while and I intend to keep donating!
I love the programs they offer. I feel like I'm doing more than just throwing money at a cause, I'm making a difference in someone's life.
IMPRESSIVE. Just visit the site and you will see how amazingly easy it is to donate. The offer many causes and packages which you can donate and the website is very user friendly.
Islamic Relief is among the first responders after any crisis anywhere in the world. They raise awareness about great causes and make it very simple to help those in need through our donations. They also provide on-site eye-witness reports to enable the general public to understand the plight of those who are suffering.
very easy to donate. i know my donation is going to a very good cause that will help alleviate suffering.
Very easy to donate. And donations are sent to places in great need. Your money will be used very well.
I recommend Islamic Relief to everyone it has always been easy and smooth transactions. I once enter a wrong number for a donation and contacted them about my mistake for the amount given and they cancelled the donation right away. I give them 10\10.
This is the best Charity Service in the USA according to my estimation. It is also my favorite and I love all their services and they stand for great causes without any discrimination! GO IRUSA!!!
I donate through IRUSA regularly as they do charity work all over the world. I personally trust them and it's also easy to help people who are in need using their website. Hope they'll carry on forever! [Info removed for confidentiality purposes].
I'm happy with this charity and the great work they're doing to help the needy around the world inshaAllaah.
IR USA. A wonderful charitable organization, that I am very grateful for, as it provides a great service that would not have been available otherwise, allowing us to do all kinds of charities and help for the needy, world wide, while we are at our place. A wide open door for Allah's beautiful thawabs. As such, being the greatest service, in a very organized and beautiful way :) - NE: neldeeb@yahoo.com
I'm a long-time supporter of IR USA because of their dedication and sincerity. The staff and volunteers are fully involved in their work, regardless of their position in the organization; they're honest and transparent about their use of funds, and are by far the most organized charity I have had the pleasure of working with. Thank you, Islamic Relief team.
This is an amazing charity that helps all people around the world. I both sponsor an orphan and buy care packages. I love that this organization is very specific about where the money u give is going and what Ur money is spent on. Which is always the basic nessasities of mankind. Food water and shelter. I suggest everyone go to them to donate because I trust this organization more so than any other I've met/seen.
I chose to sponsor an orphan through IR USA and I must say the website was very easy to navigate. I called customer service and the rep on the phone was very knowledgeable. I am comfortable with my decision to sponsor an orphan via this organization and encourage others to do so.
I've recently become more involved in donating to Islamic Relief and I feel confident in them using all funds efficiently and sensibly. My family has been donating for years and we know, personally, of family members and neighbors who have received generous help and support from IR Pakistan, especially during the blessed month of Ramadan. IR has also inspired me to work in nonprofit, hopefully with Allah's blessing, I will join their team upon graduation.
I volunteered for Islamic Relief (IR) in Alabama for a week in 2011 for the tornado devastation. It was such a unique and eye opening experience, and I thank IR for the opportunity to help. Not to mention how accommodating they were to their volunteers, and how much they appreciated all of our effort..! Also, since we worked for the American Red Cross, they were also extremely appreciative of all of our help, and it was extremely lovely and inspirational to be working alongside such dedicated individuals.
I have been donating to Islamic Relief for many years. It has been a very rewarding experience. I feel confident they are using the funds conscientiously. I recommend this charity to anyone who wants an effective, trustworthy organization.
I have been donating to Islamic Relief USA programs for several years. i trust them with my donation. They do good work around the world.
i've been donating through Islamic Relief since i've come to learn about it. I fully trust that Islamic Relief aids with my money. i wish I was able to physically volunteer at the different sites world-wide. Keep up the excellent work.
I have been donating to Islamic Relief USA programs & campaigns for over 5 years. The online donation is easy to use. I trust IR to distribute my donation as I had designated or where it is needed the most. Thank you IR for helping people around the world.
IR USA is doing a wonderful job all over the world. We must appreciate their efforts and should donate them generously. Please help them in their noble cause. And yes you can TRUST them 100000%
I find Islamic Relief to be a trust-worthy organization where I feel confident donating my money. I have had quite a few friends work for IR USA and they only have good things to say about it. Also, I really appreciate them posting pictures and videos of them in action (e.g. the Haiti earthquake incident), which reassures donors that the money is being put to use well. I plan on donating to them continually inshallah.
Website very user-friendly, great programs, would definitely use it again and refer others to it, too!
I believe that my donations are going to the right people who will use it to serve the helpless and the needy in this world.
I think this organization is great for what its doing and am happy it gives a means of helping the less fortunate. There may be lots of people who are willing to help others but don't know where to start and I believe Islamic Relief USA gives the means to do so.
Islamic relief seems to provide help to those in need in different humanitarian crises around the world. This is a great banner for the ummah to join in helping the world be a better place to live in as opposed to those who attempt to hijack the islamic ideology of universal peace, goodwill and brotherhood.
I have always found Islamic Relief to be extremely responsive whenever there is a disaster or calamity. They are efficient and reliable and I commend them on the great work they are doing. I will continue to donate and recommend them to everyone.
When living overseas, often times it is hard to find people deserving of charity, sadaqah, zakat, and the like. Of course, these people are all around us everywhere, but if one lives in certain countries like Pakistan (where I'm from), it is more "obvious" and "easier" to find such people and then give them the charity, knowing that you are Insha'Allah helping someone in need. It is not as easy in the Western world such as USA, especially if you are not involved with the local community much and just always busy with work and worldly affairs (also common here). With a legitimate organization like Islamic Relief (http://www.islamic-relief.com/), it is very easy to make any type of donation online, be it saqadah, zakat, fitrah for Eid, or any type of charity. Further, you also have the option to select the country of our choice where you want the funds to be used (many countries in need all over the world), or you may just select "wherever most needed" and Islamic Relief will allocate the funds wherever they need them. Both options are good, though Insha'Allah we should just select "wherever most needed" because as Muslims we are to help ANYONE and EVERYONE in need, regardless of nationality, color, race, religion, etc. It is about helping human beings. Insha'Allah through organizations like Islamic Relief we can help make a difference.
Islamic Relief is one of the most reliable organizations that I can always count to be on the front line anywhere around the world when there's a humanitarian aid needed. It's made giving very easy, their website is easy to use and they're always very updated.
Islamic Relief is a good & reliable non-profit. May Allah (SWT) help all Muslims and alleviate their pain and suffering throughout the world.
Every time there is a disaster somewhere I see Islamic Relief in the front lines trying to get aid for those who need it. When in my locality a flood came and many houses where damaged Islamic Relief was one of the only organization that I was contacted by to help out. They did a phenomenal job helping people in NJ with the 2011 flood.
These guys have a great sense of responisbility to their communities both domestic and abroad. They offered me a great number of causes to which I can contribute my money too and I already feel as if I am making a difference. Thank you and God bless.
I use Islamic Relief to donate all the time - mashAllah they are great! Keep up the great work IRW!!
I always donate through Islamic Relief. I am a student and do not really have much money. However, atleast once in every month I try donating as much as I can. It feels great that we can make difference in the lives of those unfortunate people. Lately, I got letter from Islamic Relief where I read about one month old baby who died in Afghanistan due to cold. It made me donate money and also be thankful to God for all of his blessings. Thank you Islamic Relief!!
Using this charity has been the best experience in donating I have ever encountered. There are many options as to where I would like to donate and I especially enjoy receiving newsletters in the mail about the various unfortunate people who have been helped by this organization.
I am a student so I'm not always able to donate a lot. However, I have the option to donate as much as I'm able to, whenever I want and I really do believe that this organization is doing a great job in getting funds to the people that need them the most. May everyone be blessed enough to eradicate poverty and to help those who need them the most. Ameen.
Great group that I strongly support! They have always shown great support for all people regardless of religion, nationality, or what region of the world they are from.
I want to respond to abumonzer in that many Islamic organizations are unfairly scrutinized in the USA due to Islamophobia, especially charitable organizations. If you visit Israel related pages they have links to even donate for illegal settlements which are against the UN and human rights standards of the world. That means that the money will be used against international law, but it is lawful in the USA. Also, USAID is allowed to give money to some organizations in Palestine that people in the US are tried for having terrorist links or lending terrorist support. Now with the laws the way they are, we are lucky if we are discriminatorily tried. Islamic Relief is yet another one on the hit list of the biggest, just to knock it out. Such actions infringe on our rights as Muslims to give charitable zakat. I agree that at times Muslim run organizations engage in intentional fraud, but also sloppy bookkeeping errors and that causes problems for organizations, sometimes allowing them to be shut down and other times such corruption and mistakes make the Muslim community afraid to give. I am not sure that slandering Islamic Relief on this forum is the best way to solve the accounting problems you speak of, especially when you seem to use words indicating that you would fire the CEO and replace the accounting company with the old one. It just sounds like a falling out more than genuine concern. By all means if you or any brothers and sisters are aware of mistakes or corruption, go together and try to fix these issues with the organization, rather than hurt them further. Also, if you have proof bring it forward. In the end, it is better not to have a divisive community and also “Part of a person’s being a good Muslim is his leaving alone that which does not concern him” (narrated by [Info removed for confidentiality purposes], 2317).
They have been engaged in massive accounting fraud and have deceived donors for years. They have actually changed CPA's every year to avoid getting caught, and in the past at least 2 CPA firms have refused to sign off on their financial statements and disengaged from them. They overstated the value of drugs received by them in "donations" (gifts in kind), showing receipts of $140,000,000 when the actual market value of the drugs was less than $506,000. Between 2007 and 2009, they were advised repeatedly by their former controller to change their accounting standards, and they refused to do so. Read about the scandal at [Info removed for confidentiality purposes]
Islamic Relief has done an outstanding job in taking care of hundreds of emergencies around the world. They have been the most trustworthy and business like Charity organization I have come across. They acknowledge donations professionally and quickly and provide receipts at the end of the years in a consolidated manner.
Islamic Relief is one of those organizations you know your donation would be used in the most efficient way possible. They're thorough in their response to email queries (fast to respond as well) and quite transparent, so you know how your money is being put to use. Which I absolutely love! I highly recommend investing in this organization.
Islamic Relief is a blessing from God Almighty. These people help out anyone in anyway they can. Please try your very best to volunteer or if not, then the least you can do is to donate some money. People out there need our utmost help. Islamic Relief will always be there but without our donations they wouldn't be able to provide the needs that are crucial for human survival in emergencies.
I searched on Google for a trustee to take my funds and do humanatarian aid across the globe. IRUSA was the best candidate from my search results. They show a serious/gracious line of work through the presentation of their website. I started with this organization during Ramadan 2011. I am satisied as of yet.
I have been using Islamic Relief for the past few years and trust them with my [Info removed for confidentiality purposes]/Qurbanis , [Info removed for confidentiality purposes] to reach the most needed areas around the world. They make it very easy with their user friendly website and list of countries they work in. I highly recommend them.
Islamic Relief does an OUTSTANDING job on allowing muslim brothers and sisters to donate with just a few clicks of a button. They are the most reliable humanitarian group out there, which is rare to see in the post-modern era of today. They do an excellent job explaining the situation and are straight to the point on what they're intentions are. They even provide videos and photos as evidence of they're works. The best part of Islamic Relief: they are not bias on what countries they're going to help. Muslim, non-muslim, doesn't matter. Whoever is struggling, Islamic Relief is there; better than [Info removed for confidentiality purposes]!
IslamicRelief makes it simple to help others. As a donor you just have to click a few buttons and your donation goes through VERY SIMPLE! although you do not really get to see how big of an effect it has in the peoples lives that the donations go to, you know it is making a difference, Sure one dollar from one person does not seem to be a lot but if you look at the bigger picture and add up all the other people to the equation one dollar a person could end up being a million dollars, this worlds population is huge I am sure many people would love to help others out and Inshallah they will. Jazak [Info removed for confidentiality purposes] for all the great work you do Islamic relief members. May Allah help you help others, you are doing a great thing :)
For the eight consecutive year, Islamic Relief USA has been awarded with a 4-star rating by Charity Navigator, the largest charity evaluator in the United States. Also, Islamic Relief USA has been accredited as a valued partner in the Partners in Trust program by Guidestar Exchange and is a signatory to the code of conduct for the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent (IFRC). The code was developed and agreed upon by eight of the world’s largest disaster response agencies in the summer of 1994. As a signatory, IRUSA commits itself publicly to the code and pledges to abide by its principles.
Extremely beneficial work done by them around the world to improve communities and they are very dependent. No doubt this is one of the premier humanitarian services of the U.S.
I trust them, and I appreciate what they are doing.
We are lucky that some people are still working hard for others in the world..
Iam sure Islamic Relief is doing a great job in helping the poor and the needed all around the world. We can all do our part by either donating or becoming a part of Islamic Relief to help others. Iam glad to be a [Info removed for confidentiality purposes] with the little that i can afford in my heart i feel at ease knowing that Islamic Relief will get my donation to the people and place where it be needed the most keep up the nobile work with the grace of ALLAH. Regards, [Info removed for confidentiality purposes].
I decided to donate to IRUSA after reviewing all the information they present. It is very thorough and allows you the option of where exactly you want to donate to. The money is truly used to help those in need and Time magazine actually talked about their work. I really appreciate the work IRUSA is doing and am glad to be able to help.
This charity is one of the best I have seen out there working in the field to truly help the needy. From all the research I have done, I am comfortable knowing my donation will be put to good use. For example, I regards to the recent famine in Somalia/East Africa, in an August 25, 2011 TIME Magazine article, [Info removed for confidentiality purposes] writes: "The only aid agencies we saw working in the camps were a group from Islamic Relief and small food and shelter distribution operations put together by Somali businessmen as well as clan and religious leaders." http://lightbox.time.com/2011/08/25/collateral-crisis-the-catastrophic-famine-in-somalia/#1 That says it all... an objective reputable journalist attesting to my donation being put to use in the right way. Islamic Relief, I trust you, and I know you are helping those in need with my help... and that makes me feel good!
[Info removed for confidentiality purposes] I have the opportunity to help our Muslim brothers and sisters in remote places through Islamic relief USA. This organization is trust worthy and operates under US and UN laws. I encourage every one who reads this review to donate or contribute to their efforts. I also ask Allah to bless them and reward them for their good deeds.
I saw Islamic relief ad and it motivated me towards learning more about the organization. I went to the website and read their projects, the Islamic relief answers to the most needy where ever they are in the world. They are responding to the disasters happening right here in USA. I feel very satisfied and will always be proud to donate to donate my money to the Islamic Relief.
Excellent charity, you don't have to think twice donating because you know they will do a great job with the money they raise.
Keep it up iA!
Islamic Relief does amazing work all over the world, with transparency and a genuine wish to help those in need.
Islamic Relief has a great reputation for getting the donations to the people who need them. Only a very small portion is necessary for administrative expenses, which is one of the reasons why I've trusted them for all my charitable contributions. They also aid a wide variety of populations in need around the world, Muslim and non-Muslim alike.
Islamic relief is getting to the heart of projects I care about and it provides me an easy opportunity to contribute in a hastle free way to a variety of causes all over the world. It makes me feel a little bit better while I enjoy God's blessings in United States and there is a whole world arround me, including projects in USA that IRUSA makes me aware of and helps me try a little bit to help . If we just look over our shoulder, we will find those who are in dire need not too far from us!
Keep up the good work!!
Islamic Relief is doing excellent work around the world. I do not hesitate at all to donate to them and highly encourage everyone to get involved with them.
They are helping people in so many regions and in so many different ways. This is the charity of choice for me.
A great charity. I feel very comfortable donating for it......the best part is they serve all humanity without any discrimination for race, religion or area. They have very appealing programms running and I intend to volunteer time for relief efforts in case of disasters close to my address. [Info removed for confidentiality purposes]
Wonderful organization that reaches out to Muslims and Non-muslims combined. Islamic Relief offers support to anyone in dire need. I love that they break down areas of donation so if you want a specific area of interest/region you want to donate to, you can do so. I love to donate to areas that are most needed so I know my help made a difference somewhere. IRUSA also gives informative emails, mails and pamphlets sharing the most up to date news in the world.
As a donor, I will receive an email with full information also.
I have donated through Islamic Relief several times before and I feel comfort knowing that the money will reach those in need. Their website is superb and easy to use when making my donations. Last night's benefit dinner for the people of Somalia in Orange County, California showed me that they really are passionate about helping those that truly need it.

Thank you Islamic Relief for being the bridge to the help provide relief to the most needy amongst us. The dedication of your staff, professionalism and just pure energy is infectious. Transparency of your processes is priceless.
IR is the charity of my choice and I make a point to spread the word to my circle of friends to become givers as well.
THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO!
I am continuously impressed by all the amazing work Islamic relief does in all areas of the world, it is the one organization I feel most comfortable making donations through, there are never any surprises and their customer service is always amazing.
Islamic Relief is a transparent humanitarian relief charity organization that does incredible work all around the world. As a donor, I feel very assured that the money I'm contributing is being utilized to the fullest for helping those who need it the most.
trust worthy charity organization helping the poor and suffering. you can depend on them bringing your donation to the people that needed it the most.
I chose to donate with Islamic Relief because of their well-respected reputation. I know that I can trust them with my charitable donation.
I like the organization. They're really professional and after meeting a few people who work there I'm really confident my money is going to the right people I am donating for. They exist everywhere around the world wherever there is need. Viva for helping the poor and needy!
I have worked on and off volunteering for Islamic Relief for the past decade and have continually been impressed with what I have seen and who I have worked with. They consistently demonstrate a level of professionalism and plurality genuine of an aid organization with the accessibly and openness found in grass root organizations. I have been happy with the diverse projects and efforts to bring attention to many unfortunate situations that often go forgotten. Most impressive is their low overhead cost associated with their operations, maximizing the amount donated for relief.

Islamic Relief is a convenient means of making charitable gifts to those in need. They are extremely efficient and I feel assured that whatever cause I wish to contribute to, my donation will reach the intended recipients. In most, if not all, cases they already have staff on the ground and therefore one does not have to hope that third party groups carry out the task they’ve been entrusted with. Their ranking by outside organizations and their cooperation with other international relief groups testifies further to their integrity. Truly, Islamic Relief is a model of what action based good intention can achieve, a model that other organizations within the Islamic community can and should learn from.
Islamic Relief USA is simply amazing. They are extremely professional and trust worthy. I have been a donor for more than 3 years, and I am seeing them grow everyday to offer help in a new place or for a new crisis. They always have people on the ground whenever possible to offer assistance directly. I just feel comfortable knowing that Islamic Relief is taking care of my donations, and I am sure it is reaching the right people when they need it the most

I've been volunteering for Islamic Relief ever since I was 13, and I can honestly say it has only become more and more rewarding for me throughout the years. IR exceeds the censorship of the media and shows citizens the reality of the tragedies around the world. More importantly, the humble nonprofit organization informs communities of how they can help these causes through their charity work. The hands-on help they deliver through food distribution and orphan sponsorship is remarkable. Islamic Relief gives us the opportunity to be generous in aiding the victims of disasters through donation and sponsorship. They are organized, professional, and outstanding in their work. While volunteering for IR, I worked directly under [Info removed for confidentiality purposes] of Volunteer Management and had only the best experience. She is exceptional in her dedication to the causes Islamic Relief supports. It is a blessing to volunteer for this charity organization, and I truly appreciate it.
Islamic Relief go places where we couldnt imagine there is a need nor were aware of the issues in that region.
It's been an incredible journey working with Islamic Relief, whether it be through donor efforts or utilizing their resources to advocate for great causes.
It's my first day voluntereing for IR USA and my first week in the united states. I am from Ethiopia and have moved to the United states only five days before, today has given me a sparkling glimpse of what proffesional life can be in the USA. I am helping in the front desk area, where every one passes by showing of a beautiful and confident smile, which shows their satisfaction in their jobs and respect to each other. One of the reasons that drew my interest to volunteer to IR was my interest in developing a carrer that will not only earn me a living but one that will build my ethical and moral values. So far, Islamic Releif has assured me the possibility and realisticness of my dream work enviroment.
I first started volunteering for Islamic Relief two years ago. I remember how excited I was for the chance at volunteering for such a good cause. I have spent countless hours volunteering at the IR USA office and at their special events and I am proud to say that I am a better person because of it. Volunteering for IR USA has not only provided me with the necessary skills I need for working in the real world, but it has also opened my eyes to all the hardships and sufferings going on around the world and realizing that not everyone is as privileged as I am. Knowing that because of my effort, whether it was simply entering data into a computer or ushering people to their seats at a fundraising dinner, somewhere in the world, I helped to put a smile on a person's face. And to me that is what really matters. Islamic Relief operates not as a business, but as a caring family, reaching out to those in need, not holding back on help because of a person's religion, background or culture. In the eyes of IRUSA, a person in need is a person in need, no matter who they are. I am so blessed to have been able to volunteer with such a wonderful organization and better yet, to have become part of the IRUSA family.
Islamic Relief USA - My thoughts? Extremely professional, well organized, and does what it sets out to do...helping those in need. I personally appreciate the transparency that exists at all levels of the organization. It comforts me to know that every dollar is accounted for and goes directly towards the cause. It is heavily invested in its volunteers and that speaks volumes, but what's amazing is that the volunteers are just as invested in IRUSA. All the staff members I have met are sincerely passionate about what they do and it shows in their work. It has received the awards for many years on its excellent standards. It is a pillar and an excellent example of what a nonprofit truly should be. Other nonprofits should take note and strive to be like IRUSA.
When searching charities I wanted to find a charity that would be safe and secure and serviced people from around the world. I liked the global reach that Islamic Relief has. From emergencies like the recent ones in Alabama and Haiti and as far East as Japan. Islamic Relief was quick to put and appeal to raise funds and work with other charities to raise awareness. I like the collaboration with other organizations that create an interfaith type partnership in the work they do. Keep up the great work, I know it’s not easy.

I have had great experience with this organization and trust their work, their reports, and their aid workers. Their honesty is over the top.
I have been a donor for Islamic Relief since 2002. I have not found a non-profit more passionate and more transparent in the work they do. I also appreciate the hard work this charity does and how responsive they are if I need assistance.
I was looking at the numbers posted in this site. 147 milliion dollars raised. sounds like they know how to raise money. I have donated for many years to this charity. The only thing that I didn't like seeing in the numbers was the compenstion to CEO and [Info removed for confidentiality purposes] (former CEO) the numbers are for 2009. CEO got about $130K per year and the consultant got more than $217,000 dollars. That seems a bit steep to me. I wonder what were the numbers for 2010.
Review from CharityNavigator
I normally would never take time to write a review about a charity but, in this case, I feel compelled to do so.
I've been donating to this organization, on and off, for several years. I've done so based on their four star charity navigator but have come to realize that that has nothing to do with the quality of a charity's business. It only has to deal with how it spends the money it raises. Therefore, since this organization employs numerous volunteers it has earned a four star rating.
I wanted to warn anyone thinking about joining this group's orphan sponsorship program. It is a hoax, a fraud, a scam. I know that sounds harsh but that's the impression the organization has given me.
I signed up for their program after attending a conference where they were exhibiting a booth. Their volunteers unfortunately are not told the truth about the program so I don't doubt that they were telling me what they honestly believe. They told me I would receive a letter with my orphan's profile shortly after subscribing to the program. They told me I could visit the orphan anytime to check up on him or her. They told me that the organization devotes 100% of the money to the child's welfare. I was, needless to say, excited and signed onto the program.
After several months of constantly calling the organization and practically begging to receive something, I finally got my orphan's profile by email and then by mail. I was relieved. However, a part of me was confused. If they were already deducting my credit card, who were they making the payments to? I suspect it was going into a general bank account used to pay for their services. If that's the case (and I can't confirm it) then why bother telling people they are sponsoring 1 particular child? Is it more of a marketing ploy? I can understand that--- it's more effective to connect to someone's emotions by showing them a specific child than to tell them they will be benefiting orphans in general.
Anyway, I was ready to put the entire matter behind me and actually went to a dinner sponsored by them and donated more money. Then, I received another orphan profile. I was excited thinking that it was an update on my orphan! The letter thanked me for being a sponsor. My excited quickly evaporated as I realized that my orphan had drastically changed! It was an entirely new child! I was shocked! Could this be an error? Maybe they sent it to the wrong sponsor? Nope, my name was on there.
I am left confused, angry and greatly disappointed. Oh, and remember how the naive volunteer assured me that I could visit the orphan if I wanted? Not true. The letter clearly states that that would be against the rules (which makes sense to me but it does reflect poorly on the organization. It clearly needs to do a better job at educating its own volunteers so they don't "innocently" give false statements).
I can appreciate the hard work it goes into making a charity successful. However, the sloppy service I experienced leaves me with this question--- if they weren't able to properly send me a welcome letter with my orphan's profile promptly, how can I trust that they are able to deliver relief services to the needy globally?
Since first signing onto the program, I've shared my experience with friends and family. I've come to discover that many of them also never received any information about their orphan. I've also come to discover that what this organization seems to do best is raise money.
