Causes: Women, Womens Service Clubs
Mission: To provide scholarships to montgomery county students and to support specific programs of montgomery county nonprofit and not-for-profit organizations/agencies. Support programs will include public service programs that benefit youth, families and the elderly.
Programs: Education programs - target middle school age through high school age girls and boys. The activities encourage leadership development, career options, and pursuit of higher education through computer training, self esteem and etiquette workshops, field trips and stem activities. Students meet twice a month with volunteers to participate in life skills programs, exposure trips and educational opportunities. Middle school age girls are the largest group of approximately 25 each year, high school ged girls consist of a group of 15 each year, and middle school age boys consist of a group of approximately 12 students each year.
public service programs - grants are awarded to community nonprofit organizations whose focus is on educational development, economic development, and physical and mental health. The programs range from health fairs, martin luther king day of service, physical health challenges and educational seminars.
scholarship programs - scholarships ranging from 500 to 3,000 are awarded to selected applicants from 26 public high schools, private schools and churches in the country. Approximately 15 - 20 scholarships are awarded each year. Applicants must demonstrate academic excellence and community service.
grants are awarded to community nonprofit organizations to support our mission which includes educational programs, public service programs and scholarship programs.
