Mission: Assist persons and families with special needs to better live and work in the community.
Programs: Milwaukee center for independence's (mcfi) employment services program provides evaluation, counseling, vocational training, placement, and supported employment services to persons with disabilities and other barriers to employment. In 2014, this program assisted more than 770 persons in obtaining work skills and securing competitive employment.
mcfi provides assistive case management services to increase the skills needed to live safely in the community. These services include working on daily living skills, medication evaluation, medication monitoring, case management, as well as referral and access to resources in the community. During 2014, case management services were provided to over 2,200 individuals from ages birth through frail elders.
our independent pharmacy staff have specialized knowledge in medications for people living with mental illness. We currently serve more than 800 individuals each year. In addition to prompt, professional service to our consumers, the mcfi community pharmacy offers an added long term benefit to the behavioral health and long term care community. Having the mcfi community pharmacy fill prescriptions ensures that proceeds from the program go directly back to the behavioral health system. All proceeds support other important, yet under-funded, mental health programs in our community.
