Military Spouse Advocacy Network

I've been volunteering with MSAN for about a year now, and I've seen firsthand the impact this organization has on military spouses. MSAN has helped me grow both professionally and personally as a military spouse. The HUB offers invaluable resources and connects you with amazing people who truly understand your experiences. Being a part of MSAN has been a rewarding journey and I can't wait to see where MSAN goes in the future.

My story with MSAN started when a friend shared with me information regarding MSAN's Military Spouse Leadership Development Program. I was honored to have been chosen for the MSLDP Fall 2024 Cohort where I was empowered, encouraged, inspired, and supported. I gained confidence and expanded my leadership abilities while connecting with other military spouses acting as change agents in their communities. It was a truly remarkable experience that I will forever be grateful for.

Throughout MSLDP we utilized the HUB to chat with one another and continue conversations we had started during the modules. When MSLDP came to a conclusion, I stayed in the HUB as it not only has a plethora of resources but also because it truly is a family there to support you no matter the circumstance.

After a couple months of participating in discussions and taking advantage of the many resources shared, I decided to become a Spouse Mentor. With over 14 years of experience as a military spouse "under my belt" and as a suicide survivor (both attempted and loss of a loved one) it was a no brainer to me to become a resource and support for other military spouses. Although I've only been a part of the Mentorship Program for a few months, it has been incredibly rewarding.

I've been volunteering with MSAN for 5 years now, most recently as HR Director, and I continue to be impressed and humbled both by the mission and evolution of the organization, and the amazing people who work so hard to make it happen and give spouses the support and guidance they so need from day one through retirement. Whether it be peer to peer mentoring, connecting new spouses with resources, or community outreach, MSAN is invaluable both to the military community as a whole and to me personally.

MSAN is a wonderful organization I wish I knew about sooner! As a volunteer mentor I have had the privilege in getting to know this organization and it's volunteers. MSAN is filled with big-hearted men and women across all branches of the military who strive to serve and support other spouses and their families in whatever way they can. My favorite experience as a volunteer has been getting to meet my mentees when we arrive at the same duty station, or close by! MSAN provides support not just for those seeking a mentor, but also to its volunteers in providing additional training and ways we can share the organization within our community and support those we strive to serve. MSAN is a great organization that helps military spouses navigate military life. The dedication of the volunteers and the staff is seen every day in their efforts to meet the mentees' needs. My journey with MSAN began in the summer of 2023 through the Military Spouse Leadership Development Program (MSLDP) alongside 49 other military spouses worldwide. We engaged with exceptional leaders from various sectors and had insightful discussions, creating a supportive community of like-minded individuals. MSAN has been an invaluable space for me, and I wholeheartedly advocate for this remarkable organization!

I have been volunteering with MSAN for several years now and am impressed year after year. The way they care for their volunteers and HUB members is exceptional. As a volunteer, my experience and knowledge is valued. They are always mission driven and are continually looking for ways to improve and offer more resources to military spouses.

The Military Spouse Advocacy Network (MSAN) is an outstanding organization dedicated to supporting military spouses from all branches of the armed forces. Through the MSAN HUB, spouses can connect with a mentor at any time, day or night. These mentors are thoroughly vetted and trained to provide assistance tailored to the unique challenges faced by military spouses. I have volunteered with MSAN for a year and could not have been happier with my decision. It is a wonderful feeling to help others and be the mentor I wish I had when I became a military spouse. As mentors, we provide support for everyday life and education to our military spouses regarding what resources are out there for them to take advantage of, and create and share informative posts for those who prefer to be more independent about resources or events, among many more things. This organization is amazing! I first started out as a mentee who felt lost while my husband was recruiting and eventually moved on to become a mentor and help spouses who felt like me.

I have been volunteering with MSAN since March of 2023 and the impact of the community was almost instant. I was not only a Marine myself but the daughter and wife of a Marine, so I am offer many viewpoints to help support the mission. On the flip side I have found a community that celebrates creativeness, differences and the potential of personal and professional growth. I hope to continue my services with MSAN for many more years to come.

I have been a volunteer with MSAN for over two years and I cannot speak enough to the kindness, integrity, and commitment through the entire organization. I started as a mentor and have now taken the role as a branch mentor. I oversee mentors in my branch and make sure their mentees are doing well, refreshing resources when needed, and communicating from the top down. Our founder is an incredible woman who I have come to know and speak to directly. Her mission is the same today as it was at the start and she’s built an incredible team to stand alongside her in that mission. I’m proud to be a part of the MSAN team and look forward to continuing to support of military families.

I joined MSAN to mentor other spouses in my branch and keep them from the struggles I have had over my spouse's career. Never did I imagine all the resources I would learn about from the advocates! If every branch would tell new spouses about MSAN, I feel like spouses and families woud thrive instead of just survive military life.

MSAN strives every day to meet the needs of military spouses everywhere- in every service, in every status, in every location. They provide peer to peer mentorship, leadership development, and more! As a volunteer in a leadership status, I see the inner workings and know that MSAN is an organization that truly cares about serving military spouses.

MSAN continues to make a massive impact for military spouses and families through their innovative programming, 24/7 peer mentorship, and leadership development. The volunteers, staff, and board members are genuinely invested in the success of our military - which includes supporting the entire family unit. MSAN's collaborations with partner organizations and unique approach to whole community support simply displays why they are best-in-class.

Military spouses need support and education throughout their milspouse adventure. MSAN has been a vital part of supporting, educating and empowering military spouses. I have volunteered with MSAN nearly 4 years and have grown so much. I have been able to support other spouses as well as our volunteer teams and received the same support back. MSAN becomes a family to lean on during the happy and tough times. Navigating military life can be difficult. MSAN is full of amazing resources and people who understand the struggle and offer advice for thriving in this crazy life. Even more, they have mentors who offer one on one opportunities for private in depth conversations. There are very few organizations that offer a one stop resource information and military spouse support.

MSAN is an amazing network of spouses. I have learned soo much about being the spouse of an Air Force Reservist that I didn't know. The network of Mentors is unmatched. Everyone is very helpful. Love this organization.

I love MSAN. Both their Military Spouse Leadership Development Program and their Community have been invaluable to me. The MSLDP helped start me on a new path and I feel so empowered to help others in my military community with the skills I learned and contacts I have made. I chose to join the board of the Military Spouse Advocacy Network because I truly believe in their mission and vision. In addition, Verenice Castillo is a force for good, she is one of the most passionate, dedicated and smart people I know. She is such an effective leader and she truly cares about every single member. Beyond that, this organization is an incredible asset to our military community. New spouses in particular could use mentorship and support to tackle all of the issues that come up while trying to navigate this military life. I can say that I would have loved to have a similar program when I was a new spouse. The amount of support and information that members are provided with are priceless. MSAN is a great organization that provides support to military spouses! Without the support of my fellow volunteers, milspouse life would be much more difficult!

MSAN really helped me achieve my career goals! I was so lucky to be a part of it's first MSLDP cohort and grow my leadership skills by learning from experts in the field. Upon completion of the program, I was excited to give back what I had learned to the military spouse community and I am currently contributing as a volunteer Outreach Coordinator at MSAN. I first encountered MSAN when applying for a scholarship to their inaugural Leadership Development Program. Within days I became aware of an incredible network of like-minded compassionate servant-leaders who are embracing all the best parts of the difficult military lifestyle. These volunteers immediately became a life line for me during a difficult transition in life. I feel more support now than in the last 2.5 years of military life. Thank you to the professional mentors, directors, and volunteers who give me a sense of belonging!

I've volunteered with MSAN for almost 3 and a half years now and I have loved seeing the growth over the years. The most recent addition of the MSAN HUB has given spouses a whole new way to connect with a community where they can be sure that they will always have a place that they can feel safe to ask the difficult questions 24/7 while still having the option to be assigned a mentor. The HUB also gives spouses the opportunity to be able to pick a mentor that they have built a relationship with and feel comfortable with. I am honored to be part of such an amazing group of Military Spouses dedicated to helping other Military Spouses across the world.

Volunteering with MSAN has afforded me many opportunities to grow as a leader. I have had the opportunity to work alongside so many dedicated military spouses. It is an honor to be a part of this community.

The military spouse advocacy network is something that should have been created by the Department of Defense long ago. Luckily a lot of passionate military spouses I've given a tremendous amount of time to create in organization who supports the other half of the military. Having served a 30-year career in the military I can tell you first-hand that it is very daunting to be a new service member, let alone a new spouse. Luckily this organization connects seasoned spouses and other mentors with those who are new to help guide them through the experience as well as give them multiple opportunities to excel not only in personal life but within the organization their spouse is a part of.

I am honored and proud to be part of the Military Spouse Advocacy Network. It is such an amazing organization. It has helped me become a better and more productive leader in my community. It is also a great experience meeting military spouses from all over the world and empowering those around me.

I am very proud of this organization. Everyone is a volunteer and the organization refrains from getting into political debates. They focus funds and effort on their mission first and foremost.

MSAN is an incredible organization and I only wish it had existed when I was a brand new Military Spouse. It would have been so wonderful to have been able to connect with a peer mentor to guide me through the transition from civilian to military lifestyle. There was so much I didn't know and I had no idea where to look for answers to all of my questions. I've been volunteering my time to MSAN for 1 year now and it has been an incredibly rewarding experience. As a Coast Guard spouse, we often feel left out of the military community with us being a part of DHS instead of DOD, but at MSAN every single spouse is welcomed and valued. I feel lucky to be a part of this organization and I can't wait to see the impact we will have on new military spouses in the years to come!

MSAN continues to lead an initiative to provide peer-to-peer mentorship to military spouses around the globe. During the last 4 months, MSAN has reached more 375,000 military spouses that were in need of support and mentorship during an unprecedented time. I am honored to be MSAN's CEO and proudly oversee a mission that continues to be accomplished thanks to the commitment of the best volunteers a nonprofit can have.

I joined MSAN when I just had my second baby, being a stay-at-home Mom and desperately searching for something else to fill my cup. There’s no better job than being a Mama but joining MSAN has given me a newfound purpose and an activity that fulfills me differently than anything else. Everyone I’ve worked with at MSAN from different branches choose to do this because we all genuinely want to help. There’s no selfish game or competition. Just women supporting women who all have one commonality, being a military spouse. This organization should be shared to all new spouses for guidance, mentorship, and resources.

MSAN is a truly unique and wonderful community of military spouses in all different phases of their military life journey. I am so grateful that I found this community during the global pandemic because they have provided support, understanding and access to resources that I did not even know were available to me. I love that Military Spouse Advocacy Network is inclusive of all military branches and components! As a reserve spouse during deployment it was hard to find an organization that was willing to help the reserves and MSAN was welcoming! MSAN continues to be an inclusive and supportive organization that helps all military spouses!

MSAN is the best resource out there for the military spouse community. Pairing me as a mentor to newer spouses as mentees has provided me with friendships I can’t get anywhere else. We are a big family building one another up and cheering each other on as we face struggles as military spouses.

Volunteering with MSAN has been so rewarding. I am able to help guide brand new spouses using the knowledge I have gained in my experience and my training with the hope that they will never feel as if they are going through it alone. MSAN is not only a valuable service to New Military Spouses but it also helps give seasoned military spouses the ability to help others. The Military Spouse Advocacy Network does amazing things to help military spouses. They help with everything from jobs to deployment to family care. They bring together military spouses and encourage them to be the best they can be for themselves and their families while supporting their military spouse.

I first got involved with MSAN back in May, as a military spouse of 17 years, as a mentor. Peer to peer mentoring is something that didn't exist when I was a brand new spouse, and getting involved with MSAN as a mentor has been a really rewarding experience. The process is smooth and streamlined and always improving, and I have thoroughly enjoyed connecting with other military spouses and guiding my own mentees as they navigate military life. The community is kind and supportive, the leadership team is responsive and very proactive, and I've really loved the change in myself as I've become the person I needed when I was a young military spouse with nobody to guide me.

I think MSAN is an amazing organization with a wonderful program for mentoring new military spouses. I have enjoyed my time as a mentor so far and look forward to continuing to volunteer with MSAN. I wish it was available to me when I was a new military spouse over 12 years ago. It’s been fun connecting with new military spouses and connecting them to each other through dinner meet-ups.

Military Spouse Advocacy Network is by far the most important resource to Military Spouses! They connect and empower spouses who might have gotten overwhelmed in the military lifestyle.

The Military Spouse Advocacy Network is an amazing nonprofit organization. They reach a large group of spouses that had been overlooked by other military family organizations prior to their establishment! New spouses were a huge portion of military spouses who were completely overlooked with no resources, help, or trusted advice. MSAN sees them and makes a difference in the lives of new spouses through peer-to-peer mentoring and empowerment. Empowered new spouses have the confidence to continue further into military family life and be positive supporters of their spouses, families, and communities. Spouses with a mentor are able to get accurate, up-to-date information on all topics of military life. They are able to ask their questions and receive honest, information supported, branch specific answers directly from their mentor. The organization values each and every one of it's volunteers and it definitely shows!
