Mission: OUR MISSION: To create stronger military families through education, empowerment, and support. OUR VALUES: Education: Linking military spouses with useful resources while facilitating the creation and continuous improvement of reference materials. Empowerment: Promoting strong and confident military spouses. Support: Facilitating mentorship and training to ensure no spouse is left behind. Community: Building fellowship for military spouses in local and global communities. Collaboration: Connecting military spouses with resources to educate and empower their communities.

Results: The creation of a program that provides peer-to-peer support and mentorship to all new military spouses. The challenges rooted in developing strong military spouses lies largely in the ability to link them to the information and support they need as new spouses to a military lifestyle. Even as benefits and resources exist to accomplish spouse support, an apparent and realistic lack of experience sometimes stifles spouses trying to learn and begs the need for a system of mentors to be the bridge between the person and the information. The New Military Spouse Support Program serves as a supplementary function to mentor spouses as they embark on their new experience in the military.

Target demographics: Mentor, support and educate new military spouses

Direct beneficiaries per year: Have provided peer-to-peer mentorship over 1000 new military spouses

Geographic areas served: Provide peer-to-peer support and mentoship to all new military spouses from the day they become military spouses.

Programs: peer-to-peer support, trainings, webinars, events, conferences, classes and much more.

Five years ago, I decided to turn my advocacy and voluntarism efforts into a nonprofit to help me have a bigger impact. My passion is to mentor and educate military spouses, mainly the new ones because they need all the support and mentorship that they can have. Today, I look back and realized that this dream has come true because of the amazing team of our volunteers (past and present). The passion and dedication and dedication of our volunteers have changed the lives of more than one thousand new military spouses. MSAN is providing new military spouses peer-to-peer mentorship, education, support and empowerment to have a successful transition from civilian into our military life.

I started with MSAN about a year ago and Im amazed by the growth that has happened in such a short time! As a mentor for the New Military Spouse Support Program, I started doing what I consider my job as a seasoned spouse, helping the new spouses coming in. The MSAN team provides trainings, programs of interest, constant open door available communication, professional partnerships AND all the branches are represented. I have since promoted to the Air Force Branch Mentor so now I get the chance to work harder for a cause I believe is much needed in todays military lifestyle. The MSAN team strives to provide current, vetted information for our mentees, along with support and guidance from our CEO and Advisor Board.

I first got involved with MSAN back in May, as a military spouse of 17 years, as a mentor. Peer to peer mentoring is something that didn't exist when I was a brand new spouse, and getting involved with MSAN as a mentor has been a really rewarding experience. The process is smooth and streamlined and always improving, and I have thoroughly enjoyed connecting with other military spouses and guiding my own mentees as they navigate military life. The community is kind and supportive, the leadership team is responsive and very proactive, and I've really loved the change in myself as I've become the person I needed when I was a young military spouse with nobody to guide me.

I think MSAN is an amazing organization with a wonderful program for mentoring new military spouses. I have enjoyed my time as a mentor so far and look forward to continuing to volunteer with MSAN. I wish it was available to me when I was a new military spouse over 12 years ago. It’s been fun connecting with new military spouses and connecting them to each other through dinner meet-ups.

I volunteer with MSAN to help new National Guard spouses find their way through this confusing lifestyle. I wish I had this program when I was a new military spouse.

Military Spouse Advocacy Network is by far the most important resource to Military Spouses! They connect and empower spouses who might have gotten overwhelmed in the military lifestyle.

The Military Spouse Advocacy Network is an amazing nonprofit organization. They reach a large group of spouses that had been overlooked by other military family organizations prior to their establishment! New spouses were a huge portion of military spouses who were completely overlooked with no resources, help, or trusted advice. MSAN sees them and makes a difference in the lives of new spouses through peer-to-peer mentoring and empowerment. Empowered new spouses have the confidence to continue further into military family life and be positive supporters of their spouses, families, and communities. Spouses with a mentor are able to get accurate, up-to-date information on all topics of military life. They are able to ask their questions and receive honest, information supported, branch specific answers directly from their mentor. The organization values each and every one of it's volunteers and it definitely shows!

I’ve been a volunteer with Military Spouse Advocacy Network for nearly two years. In those two years, I have grown to love the mission and everything this nonprofit stands for. The impact I have witnessed has shaped the lives of military spouses around the globe. There is a diverse culture of women and men working together to shape each other into leaders and advocates.
