Mission: The may center for learning empowers intelligent students with learning differences to be successful, confident learners who recognize the importance of communication, collaboration, and community. We accomplish this goal by focusing on 4 specific success attributes: literacy, empowerment, advocacy, and principles students with learning differences are intelligent learners capable of success in school and in their communities, provided that they are taught the skills necessary for academic and communal success. These skills include reading, writing, organization, self-management, communication, collaboration, problem-solving, trust-building, empathy, and creative vision. Students must recognize that these skills are important not only for their own personal success; they are important for the growth and prosperity of their community as well.
