Mission: Maji safi group's mission is to promote health and disease prevention in underserved and impoverished areas through holistic community empowerment and by working predominantly with local women and youth.
Programs: Tanzania program:affiliated with maji safi group llc in tanzania to provide awareness to the water, sanitation, and hygiene (wash) crisis, while also educating communities on how to prevent disease. This education reduces water borne and related diseases. 9 programs are supported such as homevisit; after school, and outreach. Reached approximately 25,000 with wash education.
young global citizens:maji safi group collaborates with local us schools to spread awareness about wash. Maji safi group raises awareness in the united states about disease prevention, health, and the global water, sanitation, and hygiene (wash) crisis. Education about global wash issues is shared during outreach events, for example, on global handwashing day and world water day. Reached approximately 1,000 students ages 5-18 years old.
practicum students:maji safi group works with practicum students by giving them professional grassroots nonprofit work experience in the us and in tanzania. Currently maji safi partners with washington university in st. Louis, wesleyan university, colorado state university, and the university of colorado. Worked with 25 college and graduate level students.
