Loving Farm Animal Sanctuary (LFAS) such an amazing place to visit. It’s clear the founders, Tracey and Bill Soucy, are so committed to the well-being of the animals tending to them with such care, love and humanity. They are equally passionate about educating and advocating on behalf of the animals. A visit to LFAS always nourishes my soul knowing some animals are getting to live out their lives in relative freedom and as importantly, being loved and valued for their own unique soul.
My husband and I met Tracey and Bill many years ago when we visited Loving Farm as part of a weekend retreat. I felt so calm and happy there that I asked Tracey if I could return and volunteer the next time we were in the area. Even though they had just met us, Tracey and Bill welcomed us back, not on an official volunteer day, but just the two of us when we were in the area again. They even had a little project for us to do - we helped them build a chicken house! Since then I have visited many times and have been impressed with how hard they work. They do hard physical labor on a daily basis, ensuring that each and every animal has good care. They rarely take a day off. They do not take the easy cases but take the animals who really need them, such as Olivia. Olivia was a dairy cow who had been poorly cared for and could not even stand up when they rescued her. They sent her for days of treatment, including water therapy, so she could finally go to Loving Farm and be safe and loved. Tracey and Bill put their entire hearts and souls into their animals and into their mission. They are not only rescuing animals. They are changing the way people see farm animals. They are changing the world.
Tracey and Bill the founders of Loving Farm Animal Sanctuary are the most compassionate and caring people. Their mission to rescue farmed animals and educate the public is a passion of theirs and they have devoted their whole lives to Loving Farm Animal Sanctuary. I am a monthly member because I know the money I donate will provide the best medical care, feed and enrichment for the animals. The animals at LFAS are family to Tracey and Bill. They are amazing human beings doing very hard work. They are truly heros in my book!
I fell in love with Loving Farm Animal Sanctuary the first time I visited, and now I have been a caregiver for just over a year! I feel incredibly lucky to be part of an organization that truly values the life of each animal that calls LFAS home. Bill and Tracey are the most hard working and compassionate people around and they have dedicated their lives to rescuing and advocating for all animals trapped in a system that views them as "food". All of the animals at Loving Farm Animal Sanctuary receive the best of the best care, a few example being fresh fruits and veggies with every meal for the piggies, as well as fresh bedding, water, and hay every night for the sheep and goats. It brings me so much joy to see everybody spend their days exactly how they want to with their chosen family members. Some of my favorite views are of the piggies snuggled in their straw together, or the turkeys dust bathing in the sunshine!
Tracey and Bill, owners of this wonderful sanctuary, are the real deal!!! Their dedication and commitment to their animal residents is an inspiration to so many. I came to know of this sanctuary through a little pink pig named Isabella. I began to follow LAFS when Isabella came to her forever home with them. It was my dream to meet Isa and last April 2023 I spent two wonderful days at the sanctuary. I got to help feed the pigs and interact with all the animals. Tracey is a kindred spirit! Her focus is on education of the terrible farm industries and on helping people transition to a vegan way of eating. I am so proud to support this amazing organization.
LFAS surpasses all expectations I could have for a sanctuary/non-profit. As a volunteer, I have had the honor of helping care for Tracey and Bill’s family of rescued animals. Their sanctuary runs like a well oiled (loving and tender) machine. I wish all creatures could experience the freedom and compassion those at LFAS receive. Each member of the family has the space and safety to develop as an individual and form life long bonds with chosen family. I feel supported, encouraged, and appreciated as a volunteer. I learn something new about the care and behavior of each individual every time I am present. They go above and beyond, from the attention to dietary details to noticing small behavior changes that have saved lives because of early medical intervention. They have built a loving network of community across the world that helps and encourages each other every step of the way. I am beyond grateful to continue volunteering with LFAS. It is truly a sanctuary to all who spend time there
I have been to Loving Farm Animal Sanctuary twice now for a tour. The first time my son-in law and daughter were celebrating their birthdays and the second time my best friend who is newly vegan came to town. On both occasions, Tracey and Bill were so welcoming and shared the stories of each animal on the farm allowing us all to have our own special connections with them. For example, Tracey encouraged me to sit down in the turkey's area and several of them came and sat down with me, which shocked me! Tracey explained that they wanted me to pet them - wow, I would never have known that and ended up having an incredible experience I will never forget. This type of experience happened for everyone in our group with different animals and we all went home feeling so connected to animals as never before - it's hard to put in words, you really have to experience it! What Tracey and Bill are creating at Loving Farm - is teaching us all how incredibly smart and loving animals are and the importance of caring for them and their well being.
I spent a few very short weeks volunteering at LFAS & made friends/family for a lifetime. Loving Farm was the first animal sanctuary that I visited & volunteered with. It took me quite a while to finally get over my nerves & make the trip to visit. As soon as I drove onto the property, Tracey & Bill were outside, huge smiles & waving. I immediately thought to myself, "why did you wait so dang long?" That first day, I was given a tour & explained the basics of what they did & how they did it & then set up a plan to return.
Tracey met me every morning to do chores...make & feed breakfasts, clean stalls, fresh water, scoop pops, wash bowls & YES! love on all my new friends. Everyday I learned something new. And everyday I spent there with these 2 compassionate individuals, I grew stronger in my convictions. Grew more confident & sure of myself & my message. The time I spent with Tracey, Bill & my LFAS friends propelled me forward into continued volunteering & into areas of engagement & speaking that I never thought I'd relish.
Educating is one of Traceys strong suits ( I mean honestly it's all strong with her) & she does it without making it feel pushy or contrived. It's compassion baby...it just flows out of her.
Bill is the other half of this dynamic duo...the wrangler & the muscle. The man that brings home the money (not the bacon!!), divvies it up accordingly & jumps into job #2! They need to clone this man seriously!
Volunteering with this group of spirited vegan individuals with personality for days (the peeps & the animals) was the highlight of my California experience. I can not wait to go back!
