Loveland Youth Gardens is a great program. They bring all kinds of kids together who are having struggles. My son is part of this group. I have seen a change in him. The kids really bond and they develop special relationships. They work as a team. They learn about gardening and so much more. Each teen has their own garden as well as a large community garden. The community garden is donated to the food bank. The kids feel awesome to know they are helping their community.

Mission: The mission of loveland youth gardeners is to cultivate job & life skills, environmental stewardship and service in youth who face barriers, by building healthy relationships with people, agriculture and community, so that they realize their value and potential and become equipped to lead a healthy and productive life.
Programs: Youth gardening program: this is an intensive summer program which serves 16 youth (ages 13-18) who face barriers to success in their everyday life. Participants learn important job/life skills such as communication, teamwork, responsibility and leadership while growing food for their families and the community. Through this sustainable gardening curriculum and under the supportive guidance of the staff and volunteers, participants grow not only food, but also self-confidence amd awareness of their own potential.
leaf out program: this program is an 8-month program serving 8 youth (ages 13-21) who have successfully completed one year in the youth gardening program. Participants build upon the capacities previously developed and provide an opportunity to improve job skills through agribusiness and community service projects. These projects include garden maintenance at churches, assisted living facilities, and other local organizations. As well as on-site greenhouse and production gardening.
branch out program: this program is a year-round educational outreach serving upwards of 200 youth of all ages. We offer programming both on-site, as well as taking it "on the road" to where youth live, learn and work, customizing the program to the organization, as needed. This program encompasses all aspects of gardening, from seed to harvest, plus resource consrervation, herbs, cooking and much more.
