Mission: The corporation is organized primarily to improve and enhance the quality of life of the residents of los angeles, california and the surrounding area through promotion and sponsorship of los angeles as the site of olympic games by, among other things, (i) planning for and making the bid to the united states olympic committee and subsequently to the international olympic committee to host olympic games in the city of los angeles and surrounding area, (ii) raising the funds from the public necessary to produce such plans and bid, and (iii) carrying on other charitable activities associated with its purpose as allowed by law.
Programs: The organization works with the city of los angeles to plan for and make a bid to the united states olympic committee ("usoc"), and subsequently to the international olympic committee, to host the olympic and paralympic games in los angeles and the surrounding area. As part of its work, the organization reaches out to the community in los angeles, including former olympians, to gather support for the los angeles bid, and raises funds to support the bid process.
