Mission: The rose bowl legacy foundation is committed to continuing and strengthening the global stature of america's stadium and the beautiful backdrop of the central arroyo seco by providing innovative and creative programming that benefits the local, national and international communities. Through philanthropic outreach, the long-term developments of legacy will modernize facility operations, programming and amenities, while improving public safety and access for future generations of athletes, fans and viewers in one of the world's most unique and active entertainment spaces.
Programs: Working with its partners - the city of pasadena, ucla, and the tournament of roses - legacy connections is embarking on a new project to raise $40m in the next three to five years in celebration of the upcoming centennial birthday at america's stadium in 2022. The effort will be highlighted by a full-scale institute/museum project to promote the educational heritage of the national historic landmark for community and youth influence. Additionally, as the venue continues to age, additional capital improvements are a necessity to continue the mission of the legacy organization in terms of preservation, protection and enhancement of the venue. The new project will help support these newly identified improvements to enhance venue safety, security, and the overall consumer experience. The rose bowl legacy foundation was able to transfer $5. 1m to the rose bowl operating company due to its successful efforts in 2017.
1922 locker room project: the rose bowl legacy foundation renovated one of the original locker rooms from 1922 to be a mini museum showcase. This space enables the rose bowl to educate spectators, fans and donors about the near century of events held at the stadium. The 1922 locker room has also been an integral part to our stadium's tours program.
field naming project: the rose bowl legacy foundation had a donor in 2017 pledge $10m to name the playing field. This donation was our lead gift to the $40m capital campaign.
