Nonprofit Overview

Causes: Civil Rights, Crime & Law, Interfaith Coalitions, Public Interest Law, Religion

Mission: Our scriptural traditions call upon the religious community to honor work and pursue justice. Since 1997, the Nevada Interfaith Council has stood with low-wage and immigrant workers to improve conditions on the job. Together, clergy and workers collaborate to create a community in which: 1) Workers enjoy the full protection of wage, safety and civil rights laws, 2) Government and corporate policies promote a high standard of living for working people, 3) Employers have employment practices that lead a diverse and representative workforce, and 4) Government invests resources in communities equally.
