Nonprofit Overview

Causes: Education, Educational Services, Human Services, Senior Centers, Seniors

Mission: Named for John LaFarge, a priest who wrote the classic reference on aging, Reflection on Growing Old, LaFarge traces its origin to a continuing education program organized by the School Sisters of St. Francis in 1967. Concerned with the physical, material, social, and recreational needs of older adults, LaFarges first Executive Director, S. Pauline Drewniak, drew inspiration from Father LaFarges philosophy that growing older can be a process of learning and growing toward human completion and fulfillment. A nondenominational nonprofit since 1968, LaFarge has continued to promote the wellness of older adults through enrichment education for the past thirty years.
