Causes: Education
Mission: The mission of Re-Imagine Education is to Attract, Retain, and Elevate educators of color. Creating a culture of inclusivity through mentorship, accountability, and partnership.
Results: Our impact: We have awarded 2 High School Seniors with college scholarships majoring in education. We have impacted a total of 60 current and aspiring educators through our mission in our partner schools. In the fall, we are launching 2 new programs catered to high school students, college students, and career changes.
Target demographics: increase and diversity the teacher pipeline
Direct beneficiaries per year: 60 educators and school leaders; (3) K-8 schools and (1) College
Geographic areas served: Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Programs: scholarships, intentional pathways for attraction and retention, career grooming, and upward mobility through meaningful mentorship and coaching channels.
For my time volunteering at Re-Imagine education I worked as a marketing and communications volunteer. I focused mainly on the social media aspect of marketing as well as creating marketable canvases for the big events. Not only was the non-profit extremely professional, it also helped me gain tools and knowledge for my degree that will immensely help me in the real world. I am extremely grateful for my time with Re-Imagine as well as the mentorship from Isiah King.
