Programs: Economic dignity: we trained leaders and clergy to organize towards increased funding for permanent supportive and affordable housing, including contributing to the passage of measure h and la city linkage fee legislation.
criminal justice reform: our grassroots leaders educated lawmakers about the importance of the allocation of prop 47 savings and the need to allocate funds towards reentry and rehabilitation. Additionally, we hosted trust talks between law enforcement and communities that resulted in the implementation of principled policing/procedural justice trainings for lapd officers.
immigrant integration: we supported and protected immigrant families at risk of deportation, contributed to the passage of california's sanctuary state law, and worked with the mayor and chief of police to: ensure lapd field agents do not collect place of birth information, limit further coordination in task forces, and increase transparency for the public.
