Mission: The kell longhorn lacrosse booster club, inc. Was established to promote interest in youth and high school lacrosse programs for both boys and girls, ages 5 through 18 and operates as an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization to provide the children and families of kell high school district and surrounding areas in cobb county, ga the opportunity to learn the game of lacrosse in a safe environment and provide an opportunity for players of all abilities to develop lacrosse skills and game knowledge. The organization emphasizes sportsmanship, teamwork, fair play and respect for all, and works with the children and families, regardless of ability, in a sports setting, to foster and promote understanding in the fundamentals and the finer points of lacrosse.
Programs: The organization established and supported over 20 youth league teams (ages 5 through 14), throughout the year, with total participation of over 300 players and their families.
the organization recruited, developed, and supported over 80 adult volunteers for team coaches, coordinators, helpers and board members at both the youth and high-school levels throughout the summer, fall and spring seasons.
the organization helped organize and support a total of four high school lacrosse teams (2 girls teams and 2 boys teams, at the varsity and jr. Varsity levels) with a total participation of over 70 players and their families at kell high school, cobb county, ga, through fundraising, financial support, sponsorships, volunteer recruitment, event planning and community awareness throughout the spring 2018 high school lacrosse season. The county provides very little financial support of high school athletic teams and nearly all support of the kell high school lacrosse teams and athletic facilities comes through the financial and volunteer support of the kell longhorn lacrosse booster club.
