Mission: Drawing upon shakespeare's timeless exploration of the human spirit, island shakespeare festival strives to reflect, renew, and redefine the diversity of the human experience through performances, workshops, and educational opportunities by providing free classical theater in innovative and compelling ways, we intend to ignite the power of theater to illuminate, inspire, and foster our ability to live, locally and globally, in connection to each other.
Programs: The 2017 productions were the comedy of errors, seagull & hamlet. These amazing productions were accomplished with over 200 volunteer hours. We are also proud to have reached more than 5,000 audience members over our ten week/30 shows in the 2017 season. Over half of these patrons joined us from beyond whidbey island!
Island Shakespeare Festival believes that art should be for everyone regardless of the ability to pay. By providing “Pay What You Will” classical productions in innovative and compelling ways, we intend to ignite the power of theatre to illuminate, inspire, and foster our ability to live, locally and globally, in connection to each other.
