Programs: 1. Intensive design and field training course: often referred to as boot camp, this 5-day, 4-night 10+ hour per day class teaches the the next generation of landscape lighting professionals and changes their professional lives. The course includes lectures, demonstrations, and the course project where teams design, install, and present to the public a full-scale landscape lighting mockup illi has equipment from 51 manufactures providing the course attendees with a broad experience with lamps and fixtures available on the market to help them become familiar with how both light and fixtures work. This course began in the 1980s at uc berkeley, was taught at rutgers and rpis lrc. This fall was the 14th session at saluki park. Normally there are at least two sessions, but with the landscape lighting exhibition sessions, only one was given in 2013. In 2014 there will again be two sessions. We are working on a shorter introduction course that could be offered at multiple locations. We are also working on a new reception and classroom building, as our current facilities have become too restricting.

Power distribution weekend session for the landscape lighting exhibition: illi invited the original 31 landscape lighting exhibition designers back to saluki park to get the power distribution installed and ready for the fall project completion. Some of our 10 manufacturers and some guests interested in learning about power distribution joined the event. 3. Installation and aiming weekend session for the landscape lighting exhibition: in september the june teams returned with more guests and manufacturers participating. We invited 12 arborists to help us install the 80 tree-mount fixtures under the guidance of our arborist. We had all of them up in trees in the day installing and after dark aiming at the direction of our lighting designers. In order to accommodate all the participants, we had completed our new parking lot giving us additional pa
