Through a competitive selection process, the program provides financial support for artistic endeavors fostering small ensemble music in all its diversity. Awards are granted to ensembles, composers or presenters with well-conceived projects that bring awardees to a new level of achievement. In its 7 cycles to date, the program has granted a total of nearly $520,000 for 187 different projects, with a tremendous impact for awardees and audiences alike, resulting in a rich variety of commissioned new works, performances, and recordings.
