Mission: ILEA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation located in Seattle, Washington, with the mission to help consumers reduce environmental impact through wise purchasing and lifestyle choices. ILEA serves as a popular interpreter of scientific information, translating academic research into simple buying decisions useful for consumers (?paper or plastic?? ?disposable or cloth diapers?? ?disposable or reusable party cups??). We base our recommendations only on life-cycle assessment studies that assess the full impact of the manufacture, use and disposal phases of each choice, so as not to mislead the consumer with single-issue impacts.
