The mission of this organization is noteworthy and laudable. The programs and services are very necessary and performed in an exemplary fashion. The staff is extremely small in size and their quality of work is excellent. ISDD's Executive Director is a remarkable and highly talented leader. I highly recommend this organization to anyone interested in supporting the work of an organization doing much to improve the quality of life for extremely vulnerable children and families.

I always get a lot of information to help my adoptive son become a better citizen. ISDD has been helping my family for about 1 year and I have learned a tremendous amount. The fellowship with the other grandparents allows me to gain insight on how others deal with their situations. I am grateful.

Over the last 6 years the program has been amazing with helping me find different resources for my great niece with 3 major disabilities. They have also help me find resources for myself such as food and material assistance. The resource list is so long. I would like to thank Laura was consistently providing me with great resources throughout my community.

My family has been apart of the program for the last 6 years. This program has helped me understand what is going on in my grandson's life mentally, physically, and educationally. The support groups also help me understand I am not alone.

This has been one of the most amazing experiences in my life. I am truly grateful to be apart of a program that helps me raise my great grandson. The parenting course has helped me most to understand my 14 year old great grandson.

I am raising my 9 year old great granddaughter. She was in need of clothing because she is growing and ISDD was able to connect us with the proper resources. When my great granddaughter was in need of uniform tops, we were provided with a resource. I did not have to buy any school related items this year. The case manager also informed me of the Fresh 4 Less program therefore I can bring more fresh produce in my home. The Second Time Around Parenting courses on Fridays are fantastic, eye opening, and much needed.

ISDD has been a blessing for about 9 years for myself and family. They have helped me with my great niece and nephew. All the resources they have provided were helpful and much needed. This program has been wonderful for me. I love the support groups because I get to meet others who are going through similar things. This has been the greatest thing that has happened to relatives and grandparents raising non biological children. I am very thankful.

What a much needed resource! I previously lived in another county and did not have a resource like this in that county so am very happy to now be able to participate.

I am a grandparent who had to raise a grandchild with disabilities. When my grandson was an infant, both of his parents walked out on him and I had to step in and save him. I took him in a raised him as my own. I had no idea what it was like to raise a child who had developmental disabilities. I had no experience in what to do to help him. I thought I was all alone.

I soon learned about Project GRANDD and began going to meetings. That is when I learned that I was not alone and that there were others out there in the community just like me. Raising their grandchildren because of the neglect of the children’s parents. Through Project GRANDD, I meet other grandparents who were facing the same challenges as myself. They too had children with disabilities. It gave us all a place to vent, voice our concerns, and ask questions and network with one another. After that I began sharing my testimony with other grandparents and invited them to meetings.

Project GRANDD was a solid foundation and support system for me and my grandson by helping promote a stable healthy supportive environment both at home and at school. Project GRANDD taught me how to acquire and substantive IEP for my grandson to help him through his struggles in school. It taught me how to conduct myself during IEP meetings as well as how to deal with the school staff.

Project GRANDD has always been there for us. They always made sure that during tuff times and holidays we had everything we needed and that always brought joy and a smile to my grandson’s face. Because of my new-found knowledge and skills that I gained from Project GRANDD my grandson is a high school graduate and has began his first semester in college as a child with disabilities. I am truly grateful for Project GRANDD.

Warm regards,
A Grandparent
