It's a very one on one experience and has definetly given me something to do. I am half Indonesian and Mexican and I've never really identified with my Indonesian culture. Being able to dance and play instruments from Indonesia has taught me to be proud of my heritage. Performing with the group has really built my confidence. But I think they changed their name to Indonesian Dance of Illinois (IDI). The head/instructors of IDI are just about the sweetest people you'll ever meet.
