Mission: The mission of hopewell center, inc. Is to help adults, children and families experience independent and meaningful lives. Hopewell center, inc. Provides individualized training and education to residents of madison county and surrounding areas, who have disabilities or other needs, and helps each individual to reach their potential through educating the community and encouraging an environment that acknowledges the value and contributions of all people.
Programs: Hopewell center's supported living program serves approximately 85 children and adults in various types of residential settings. Individuals served may live in their own apartment, in a home setting with one or more roommates or in their natural home with family. Individuals served range in age from 14 to 82 years. Supported living staff provide training and support both in the home and in the community to maximize independence in all areas of daily living skills.
hopewell center operates 3 group homes for 20 residents. This type of residential setting is a congregate living situation, each home housing between 4 to 8 adults who are of similar age and have comparable support needs. The goal of group home living is to provide continuous active treatment in a 24/7 supervised setting while promoting independence commensurate with individual's ability.
hopewell center's sheltered employment program aims to provide work-oriented experiences to persons with disabilities and to assist them in maximizing their independence and earnings in a rehabilitative setting. Sheltered work provides supportive services for all program participants to assist them in obtaining competitive employment when appropriate. The program operates approximately 243 days per calendar year, with the typical workday beginning at 8:30 am and ending at 3:00 pm. During fy 2017, the program served a total of 182 individuals. 25 individuals were referred to the office of vocational rehabilitation for supported employment. 94% of individuals showed measurable progress in their personal goals.
