Mission: The mission of Hope for Homeless Cats The Mission of Hope for Homeless Cats is to provide caretaking services to feral cat colonies in the Baltimore, MD area, to include but not limited to: TNR (trap neuter return), which reduces the number of unwanted cats born in the wild 2. Providing lifelong care to feral cats, thereby improving their quality of life and, 3. Placing friendly strays into loving, forever homes and /or rescue groups who do adoptions. 4. When funds and donations permit, providing free dog and cat food to low -income pet owners who are in need. 5. Providing resources for or handling all aspects of helping low-income communities obtain free spay/neuter/vaccination services for their pet cat(s).
Target demographics: Homeless, abandoned and forgotten community cats
Direct beneficiaries per year: 24 community cat colonies across two counties (totaling approximately 150 cats under our care). We provided free dog or cat food to oven 5 dozen low income pet owners. We helped nearly 2 dozen families get their pet cat)a) spayed or neutered and vaccinated free of charge.
Geographic areas served: Baltimore County, Maryland (RANDALLSTOWN and Milford Mill) and West Baltimore City, Maryland (Penn North, Sandtown and Edmonson Heights)
Programs: Daily meals and water, warm winter shelters, TNR (trap-neuter-return) of feral cats and rescuing/finding placement with adoption agencies or forever homes friendly cats that have been dumped and abandoned and have found their way to our sites. We ensure to provide medical assistance to any of our colony cats that are sick or injured.
