Mission: Historic Neighborhoods, founded in 1977, is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to increasing awareness of and appreciation for urban neighborhoods--their history, architecture, and design. We put special emphasis on programming for young people and teachers in Boston in the belief that an understanding of neighborhood history will foster pride and self-esteem. Historic Neighborhoods also offers a wide range of programs to professionals and the general public through tours, lectures, and forums on Boston's history and current development projects.
