Mission: Health centers in schools delivers innovative, quality cost-effective school-based health service for children in the greater baton rouge area.
Programs: For over 45,000 public school students, hcs ensured that students had access to quality health services by operating 7 health clinics and providing a school nurse at 82 schools throughout the parish. These professionals logged 117,752 student encounters. Those encounters included vision screening, hearing screening, school-nurse and health center visits, individual health assessments and plans, flu vaccines, dilated eye exams, and dental care. Mental health services were available at all 7 health centers.
