When I heard the story of Harley it broke my heart but opened my eyes to the terrible world of puppy mills. At that moment I decided I would do what I could to help change the world for these poor dogs. I started sharing information through social media, passing out information cards and decided to start adopting instead of shopping. The greatest loves of my life came in the form of 10 pound senior puppy mill rescues. Harley was and still is a beacon of hope for all of the dogs waiting for their day to find love and happiness and the chance to walk on grass. His ability to love despite being in a cage for 10 years helps me through my own dark days. Harleys Dream has opened so many eyes and I hope it can open yours too.
I have been involved with Harley's Dream, which is a few years now, ever since I learned about Harley and his life in a Puppy Mill. I was outraged and saddened to think of the thousands of dog, cats, rabbits, and others that languish in the mills for years. I have made it my mission to educate and inform others of the horrors of the mills. Education is one of the key tenets of Harleys Dream. It is a very effective and active group and even though members live in all different parts of the the country it feels like we all friends.
I am proud to be a member!
Harley's Dream does so much for senior dogs by rescuing them before they are put down. They are in Colorado and are willing to go any where in the United States to save these poor dogs. The goal of this wonderful non profit is to educate what puppy mills are in a non threating way, by going to schools, peaceful protests educating through various social media. They have educational literature they give to teachers or anyone who would like to spread the word about the horrors of puppy mills. So much more to say but best to visit the website. www.harleysdream.org
Harley's Dream is an amazing organization that inspires and motivates me to work towards their mission everyday. Harley’s and Teddy’s stories, being similar to so many other dogs to include some of my own, really speaks to my heart. Everyone I have met associated with Harley's Dream is dedicated, compassionate and committed to ending puppy mills. I am very proud to volunteer and support this outstanding non profit.
This great charity focuses on the plight of puppy mill puppies. These are dogs that are used and abused for their reproduction abilities and then just tossed like trash. Their offspring are often cross bred and have many health issues.
Harley himself was a puppy mill dog and tossed away half dead until he was rescued,
since the finding of this non profit, many puppy mills have been shut down. It is such a great charity!
Amazing people who do good work. Raising awareness & helping to change laws to save and protect. Living in Minnesota I wasn’t aware of the horrible puppy mills that existed all around us. I have since become a Harley’s Hero. There are so many opportunities to help educate and be a part of ending the suffering of dogs in puppy mills. Harley’s Dream provides you with everything you need to be a part of spreading awareness. Weather you are able to devote a few minutes to days there are plenty of opportunities.
I had not heard about the atrocities of puppy mills till about six years ago when I stumbled on Harleys website. Myself like many others were uninformed about what they are. The knowledge I have gained from volunteering, attending protests with Harley's dream and getting to know Harley and his founders has brought to the forefront that puppy mills sadly do exist. The dogs are bred over and over in deplorable conditions,, the pain and suffering they endure and the emotional toll it has taken on them is surreal. All of this to feed the monetary chain of the breeders who sell the dogs to the puppy mills and the pet shops that sell them. Hundreds of dogs have been saved and rehomed, congress is involved , pet stores have been shut down and some puppy mills have ceased their operations all because of Harleys dream.. Harley, a little dog with a big dream will continue to educate and inform the public about them, get local municipalities to pass laws to ban the sell of these dogs and continue their mission of ending puppy mills till all dogs are sitting comfortably in loving home. Without Harleys dream the dogs in the puppy mills and pet stores have nothing good to dream about,

Harley, a little dog with a big dream: End Puppy Mills:
To dream the impossible dream, to fight the unbeatable foe, to bear with unbearable sorrow, to run where the brave dare not go: To right the un right able wrong, to love pure and chaste from afar, to try when your PAWS are to weary, to reach the unreachable star: This is HIS quest to end puppy mills, no matter how hopeless, no matter how far. To fight for the dogs freedom without question and PAWS, to be willing to march into Hell for a heavenly cause: And I know if I'll only be true to this glorious quest, the my heart will lay peaceful and calm when I'm laid to my rest: And the world will be better for this, that one DOG scorned and covered with scars still strove with his last ounce of courage to fight the unbeatable foe, to reach the un reachable star: In loving memory of Harley
Harley’s Dream is a wonderful non-profit helping to educate people about puppy mills. To help educate people to adopt dogs instead of buying them.
Have been follwing Harley for years. Found thru my cousin. An amazing rescue and tirelessly working to end puppy mills.
Harley’s dream is a wonderful rescue group. They rescue the left behind or the unwanted pups in various shelters particularly in California. They have great volunteers who get the pups out of the shelter, arrange for transportation to their home in Colorado. Their name sake, Harley, was a one-eyed little dog rescued from a puppy mill. Rudy and Dan nursed him back to health and loved him so much that Harley because an American Humane Society Hero of the Year.
The Taylor’s and all of their countless volunteers make such an impact on rescuing dogs that are on the euthanasia list: from CA to CO & surrounding areas. They provide medical care and find fosters and then loving “furever” homes to provide unconditional love for the remainder of these dog’s lives. This group is relentless in the care they provide and ultimately are seeking to eliminate Puppy Mills, one life at a time. ❤️
I have followed Harley and Teddy before they went to the rainbow bridge, and watched what an outstanding job this organization is doing thru-out the U.S. I would never have known about puppy mills had it not been for Harley and his Facebook page. I am a true believer now in stopping puppy mills due to them. And ask God's blessings on them every day.
I became aware of the horror of puppy mills thanks to little Harley and Harley's Dream. After reading Harley's story, I wanted to do something to help stop puppy mills. Thanks to Harley's Dream, I am a part of that movement. Harley's Dream is a large network of volunteers who work tirelessly and devote their time and lives to ending puppy mills. They hold protests at pet stores that sell puppies and dogs, they raise money to put up billboards, they sell merchandise with the money going towards Harley's mission to one day no dogs have to endure the torture of living in a puppy mill. They also work to have laws changed to make puppy mills illegal. Harley's Dream began with the rescue of a little one-eyed chihuahua who lived in a cage 24/7 at a puppy mill for 10 years and has now grown into a nationwide movement thanks to the care and devotion of volunteers. I cannot imagine another nonprofit more deserving of a nomination .
They are amazing with the work and information they give regarding puppy mills. They have taught me so much. I love using their great different products they have to help spread awareness .
It all started with Harley. ❤ Harley's Bravery gave us inspiration, along with his courage to survive and show us to be compassionate. Harley's Dream continues Harley's mission to end puppy mills. How can anyone with a heart even think of treating animals this way? Yet puppy mills exist to feed the greed in our world. As a Harley's Hero, I act in support of Harley's Dream to educate and bring awareness to others. As an organization, Harley's Dream is the best! Their mission is so important and all of the materials (flyers, clothing, wristbands, etc.), and seasonal campaigns are great for kids and adults.
One of the best non-profits around. They do so much to help dogs, they are so caring and wonderful. Thanks to Harley’s Dream many dogs will get new lives, new homes, and will have love for the first time ever.
I found Harley on Facebook about 5 years ago. It was through this wonderful organization that I learned the truth about Puppy Mills. Unfortunately Sweet Harley passed away but Harley's Dream has continued to fight against puppy Mills and has continued to educate all of us. They also rescue and vet and love many many elderly dogs and eventually find wonderful homes for them so that they can have a few good days, weeks, months and even years of love and care. Sometimes, after rescue and rehabilitation, Dan and Rudy keep the dog !!! Actually, it happens often. They love them, spoil them, and give them the very best care that money can buy! Also, they know their adopters and we (their followers) always get updates !!! Harley's story will live on forever. Everyone misses him so much. He stole my heart and I never even met him! He paved the way for many many other beautiful elderly and neglected dogs since then. ❤️❤️❤️
I have been aware of Harley's Dream since its inception. I rate this as the highest level of nonprofit work that I have ever seen in two decades of animal welfare advocacy. The mission is well-defined, there are programs which help advance the mission, and the leaders of the nonprofit are fully engaged not only with existing supporters but with the public at large. I have been amazed at how our society is being changed not by a national group with millions of dollars, but by this small organization which is changing hearts and minds one day at a time. A time will come when our society no longer mass produces dogs in puppy mills because the public will have said, "no more. We are better than this and we owe man's best friend better than to treat him like a commodity." The speed with which this change happens will be a direct result at least in part to the commitment of Harley's Dream to ending the suffering of mill dogs like Harley as we move into our newer and brighter future of compassion and care. I simply cannot say enough good things about Harley's Dream and I will continue to support the in all they do.
Harleys dream, I have been following this rescue for many years. They have made countless people aware of what and where puppies come from. They have exposed many fraudulent breeders. They have rescued and saved many lives that would have lost. Even after Harley's passing they continue to carry out his legacy. By saving many animals who otherwise would have perished. They give hope to these wonderful babies. My sunny is a puppy mill momma rescue, I adopted her and asked myself if Harley would be proud of me for saving her? The answer was yes. I rescued burrito, whi was a product of over breeding, I believe it was meant to be, to save him from bad conditions. His rescue reminded me of how Harley's people saved many puppies from severe conditions. Harleys dream had a profound influence on me. All of my babies are rescued, there is precious who came from a bad home. Taco was thrown away, cause she wasn't perfect. My babies, I've had them from 5 years to 16 years plus.
There's just a regular, unrelenting outpouring of selfless acts from these angelic folks, with the goal of providing love, safety and freedom to senior, malnourished, abused, disabled and near death small dogs. They deserve wide recognition.
Rudi and Dan are there to reach out and take in those dogs no one else wants or believes in. They have taken in hundreds of dogs, provided top notch care for each of the dogs they bring into their home whether it is for a mere few days or if it's months. They find appropriate homes for each of the dogs. They are a top notch rescue and would take in every dog available if feasible. They love each of these special dogs deeply.
The way that they highlighted the story of Harley was so inspiring. We felt like he belonged to all of us, too. “A little dog with a big dream.” touched so many lives. The day that he died, the news devastated everyone. However, Harley had done his part in getting out the word about the horrors of puppy mills. Good job, Harley! We love you!
These are amazing people with the kindest and most giving hearts. Saving these little souls who have been forgotten is their passion and even if it is just for a few hours or days, they make sure that sweet angel knows love and comfort which so many have never experienced. They are tireless and deserve all the recognition in the world!
I've followed Harley for years and grieved when he passed. Its so awesome his legacy lives on. Ordered shirts and other items from them, prompt delivery. I love $5 Fridays that give me a chance to donate. They work tirelessly to speak out against puppy mills and rescue seniors from shelters and give them a second chance for loving home in their golden years.
I help volunters and we rescued 12 dogs in Qatar bringing them all to Portugal.
I admire the best work Harleys House do.
My favorite non-profit organization! Kind, compassionate heroes who don’t stop giving of themselves to save sweet, innocent lives who deserve to be loved. I trust them with every dollar and know they’ll do right by every donation just as they do right by every dog in their care❤️❤️❤️
Harley's Dream is a well planned organization. Their outreach programs are effective at getting peoples' attention and educating them about the horrors of puppy mills. Then they take it a step further and empower others by showing them how they can be a part of changing the lives of the voiceless innocents. They provide training and support and beautifully designed, eye-catching materials for use at events. Everything done in Harley's name is done exceedingly well.
I have the same dream of No more Puppy Mills. Harleys dream is well and alive spreading the message and educating the public.
I got to meet Harley and fell in love
This nonprofit helps so many dogs from shelters and puppy mills
They all rec all the love and medical they need. Once they are cleared for a forever family , they accept applications for a forever home.
They are forever loved by Rudi , Dan and so many others
I could go on and on about this nonprofit but I will leave you with ‘ It is the best there is
Rudi and Dan love all of them ❤️❤️❤️
This nonprofit is an amazing group, dedicated to educating the public to always adopt a dog & never buy from stores, breeders or on-line.
Harley’s Dream is fantastic! You can tell that Rudi, Dan and the team really care about what they do. They’ve made strides in puppy mill awareness and education and saved so many dogs. Keep up the good work.
I love their mission of ending the miserable existence of puppy mills and of rescuing Senior and unadoptable dogs. They are inspiring and change not only the lives of dogs they save, but the people who get the privilege of adopting one of the rescues. Love and compassion is a gift.
Best group of people to rescue dogs and save them !!! After they nurse them back to health they then find these precious fur babies their forever homes!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Always there to help. No distance is too far to rescue. Brilliant veterinarian care. Superb selection of homes.
We learned about Harley in 2014.
We knew existence of Dog Mills but we really did not know about it in details.
Harley’s Dream taught us about reality of Puppy Mills and we joined their effort to stop this horrific business.
Since then we attend events hosted by Harley’s Dream and volunteer to educate people about puppy mills in our area.
Rudy and Dan Taylor who endlessly work hard to run this organization became good friends.
Our Charo came from Harley’s Dream.
She was abused little Chihuahua who was fostered by Harley’s Dream.
Harley’s Dream also have Harley’s House of Hope.
They mainly rescue senior dogs often have medical problems.
They take these unfortunate senior dogs often on top of euthanize list in the shelters.
They bring them to health and find the forever home to have second, third chances.
We adopted Henry from Harley’s House of Hope few years ago.
He is a old guy who can’t see or hear well but his own way to show the love.
We admire endless work of Rudi and Dan Taylor and we try to help anyway we can.
Harley’s Dream made us open our eyes to impotence of saving the unfortunate dogs.
Thank You
BEST nonprofit - grassroots, completely transparent, all volunteer base, reaching a worldwide audience and making a tremendous difference!!! I am inspired daily by Harley's Dream puppy mill awareness, education and advocacy. Thank you Harley's Dream for being a voice for the voiceless!! You are a shining example for all!!!
I have been following Harleys Dream for several years as have many of my friends. The love and care of all those volunteers and staff is truly amazing. If i was a resident to the area where they were located, i would beg to be a part of what they do. They are the best and tryly deserve this award.
I became aware of Harley and Harley’s Dream about 6 or 7 years ago. My wife is the real Harley’s Hero and I am the casual observer. However, over the years I have watched the tremendous and heart warming work that this organization does. Their educational and civic work to make the country aware of the cruel and inhumane conditions in puppy mills across the nation is remarkable and inspiring. Volunteers are dedicated to fulfilling Harley’s Dream of putting an end to puppy mills. Volunteers who educate their communities all over the country and work to legislatively end the puppy mill to pet store pipeline. This organization has matured, grown, and expanded over the past several years as they have opened Harley’s House of Hope to rescue, care for and find forever homes for numerous dogs scheduled to be euthanized in shelters. Rescued from “death row” these poor souls are taken out of the shelters and given the medical care, attention and love that every living being deserves. This non-profit is an outstanding example of an organization of “real human beings” who go out of their way devoting themselves to helping man’s best friend. The people are real and the organization is a tribute to man’s selflessness and love for all of God’s creatures.
This is one of the greatest organizations I've ever had the pleasure of being involved with. Dogs, who have NO hope left, have found that hope with Harley's Dream. I've seen many, many little dogs be rescued by Harley's Dream. They are given the "best" medical care possible (and most are in very urgent need of this care.) These dogs that have lived in cages; with NO exercise; improper and very little food; unclean drinking water; and serious medical problems have had their lives bettered by Harley's Dream. They have been given a second chance that they so desperately deserve; they are given forever homes; and most of all, they are finally given love and attention. I will "always" support, and be a part of Harley's Dream.
Harley’s dream is an amazing organization that raises awareness about puppy mills. They do it in a positive way with billboards and peaceful protests. They’ve also started Harley’s house of hope to rescue dogs in need.
I fostered for them for a few years now and they take the upmost care of their charges. Every dog gets complete veterinary care, which includes: a full physical exam, bloodwork, any medication needed, and if necessary (or to verify diagnosis) an echocardiogram, ultrasound and any other optional surgery to help maintain quality of life.
Once the dogs are ready to be adopted, Harley’s house of hope does a full adoption application to check references, veterinary care, housing and anything else that the pup may require. They are very thorough and make sure the dogs are well taken care of long after being adopted.
Attached are a few photos of the dogs I fostered for them.
Harley’s Dream is doing a great job in rescuing senior dogs who still have lots of life to live and lots of love to give. Providing a safe haven, needed medical care, and then a forever home is the goal which is being met over and over. Rudi and Dan and their team devote not just their time but so much love with every little dog that comes to Harley’s House of. Hope. Sweet Harley, the Humane Society Hero Dog of the Year a few years ago would be so proud!
I heard about Harley and Teddy on Social Media about 6 plus years ago. Because of their Facebook posts and darling pictures I learned about puppy mills and how they operate. I learned that Pet stores get their puppies from these horrible puppy mills. As I learned more I became a sort of activist, donating as much as I can, demonstrating in front of pet stores that sold these puppies, and writing letters to our mayor and state legislatures. As a result of all the work Harleys Dream has done many states now ban the retail sale of puppies in pet stores and on-line. This is saving the lives of many dogs and helping people to "Adopt don't Shop" This is huge and it has happened all over the country as a result of Harleys Dream. So many furry lives saved. Harley's Dream is truly wonderful.
I have been an avid follower and advocator for #HarleysDream for 5 years - they have been instrumental in passing many ordinances across the country to stop pet stores from selling puppy mill puppies - I have personally participated in pet store protests for the last three years - #HarleysDream has members across the US and several foreign countries - they bring a lot of information and care to their efforts

I support the tireless work of Harley’s Dream as much as I can. One day puppy mills will cease to exist & the mission of a little dog with a big dream will be a true reality. Also, many wonderful senior dogs are given second chances at love & a forever family thanks to Harley’s House of Hope. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for creating this wonderful organization.
Harley’s Dream is truly making a difference in the lives of puppy mill dogs. Educating the public about the atrocious puppy mill industry is of utmost importance and Harley’s Dream is taking their job very seriously. I love the bill boards that are placed in cities across the country as they get the attention of millions. Harley’s Dream has countless volunteers around the country fighting tirelessly to ban the sale of pet store puppies (and kittens). Keep up the great work ! Harley’s Dream will come true !
I have seen the passion and incredible caring Harleys Dream has for all dogs- no matter the situation they come from
or the medical/psychological or emotional issues they may have. They are all loved, maybe for the first time and accepted for who they are and they work very hard to make sure each dog ends up in the perfect home!
Because of Harley I became aware of the horrors of puppy mills and how people need to be made aware of the suffering the dogs endure.
This particular non-profit is one of the few I can say I would donate to whole-heartedly. You can see with your own eyes how much those rescued benefit Given this cause, as precious and very-much needed as it is - the sincere commitments of those involved - I see this one as THE precedent for others.
They rescue small older dogs that otherwise would be put down. They have great volunteers to foster and make sure all the animals are well taken care of and socialized.
Rudi and Dan are remarkable.
Harley's Dream is near and dear to my heart, they work to educate about puppy mills and work to end them. I cannot think of a better group to support
This organization does SO MUCH for dogs that have been neglected. While most people do not want a senior or special needs pet, these people take them in, get them medically fixed up, and adopt them out to loving families. These families and even this organization give these dogs the best end of their life that they deserve.
I love Harley's Dream. They rescue older dogs from the puppy mills, and give them the life they deserve. They heal their hurts, and let them be the dogs they were meant to be. Their stories are inspiring and heartwarming, and I am proud of be a part of this organization
Harley’s Dream is an amazing nonprofit! Rudi & Dan have a true passion for these precious babies! Their love & compassion show through in all they do!
Harley’s Dream has saved so many luttle lives and brought awareness to an issue previously brushed under the rug. Bravo Harley’s Dream Team!! ❤️
Harley’s loves all dogs and cares for their welfare. It had raised awareness of how bad puppy mills are and how bad it is to sell puppy mill dogs in pet stores. It also saves as many elder dogs as it can from being euthanized in shelters.
The work they do to put an end to puppy mills is amazing. Harley, who this non-profit is named after, won the Hero Award and that shows you how great they are.
Harley’s Dream is so very close to my heart. I have always fought against Puppy Mills. But finding Harley and his buddy Teddy. Was a great way to love and support these precious rescues. So many to remember. I do what I can to help Harley’s Dream. I keep my eye on what’s going on with this amazing organization. And all the people who do so much to save these sweet dogs. And educate everyone I come in contact with. About the horrible Puppy Mills that are allowed to keep dogs in small and horrendous cages. Out in the weather. No love or touch. No warm baths. We can’t quit telling people about Puppy Mills. Until
every last one is shut down. And Harley’s Dream works around the clock. Every day of the year. To rescue these dogs. Get them well. And put in a safe a loving home.
Harley’s Dream does great work across the country saving elder dogs and dogs of younger ages in need of saving from potential euthanasia at high kill shelters as well as other situations. They help bring them back to health with high quality healthcare and then find the most healthy homes for these dogs so that they can live their lives with love and peace.
Harleys Dream has educated thousands upon thousands of people about the cruelty of puppy mills, advocating for pet adoption and caring for the old homeless pets.
I am so proud to be a part of this phenomenal group.
Harley’s Dream has made so much progress in educating people about puppy mills. There is much work to be done, but we are committed to Harley, Teddy and Harley’s Dream.

Harley’s Dream is a wonderful organization whose mission is to eliminate cruel puppy mills and inform the public about the atrocities of puppy mills. Knowledge is power.
After rescuing our two dogs, my wife and I became aware of the large number of dogs that are in need of rescuing. What we didn't know was the horrors of puppy mills. We had heard of them, but never gave them to much thought. One day while looking through Facebook, I stumbled on this little dog named Teddy. One of our two dogs is also named Teddy, so I started reading about this "new" Teddy. I quickly learned about Teddys best friend Harley, and how Harley had survived the puppy mills, but not before years of abuse, including the loss of one his eyes. The more I read, the more angry and upset I became. We had no idea how horrible puppy mills are. Harley and Teddy's cause to end Puppy Mills became our cause. Harleys Dream has done so much to educate the public about Puppy Mills, and Pet Stores that sell puppies. But they do so much more then that. They actively engage with local governments fighting to end puppy mills in the US, and their followers are taking this message around the world. This is an amazing organization, and I fully support this nonprofit. I hope that everyone will continue to learn about Teddy and Haley, and join me in supporting this great organization.
I had been lurking on the site for years, waiting for the right time and perfect little one to speak to me. September, 2020! There she was! Bobbie, an 8 year old poodle with some health issues. She’s the one! I put in my application and after a few calls to verify my qualifications, she’s ours!! We changed her name to Trixie and 3 weeks later, I can’t imagine life without her.
If it weren’t for Harley’s Dream, I don’t believe she would have had the excellent care (needed surgeries) and fresh start she deserved. All dogs deserve the love and attention Harley’s Dream provides for so many little dogs that would otherwise be needlessly put down or die a lonely, unloved dog. They provide so many dogs with wonderful lives!
I’m very grateful that they saved little Miss Trixie for me.
Harley’s Dream not only spreads awareness of puppy mills but they also have Harley’s House of Hope that saves senior dogs on Euth lists at shelters around the country. I have been a proud supporter of Harley’s Dream for many years now and even met Harley in 2015 at their big fund raiser Hops and Harley in Berthoud CO.
I have followed Harley since he won the American Hero Dog Award for the attention he brought to the “Puppy Mill Crisis” in the USA. This rescue has large groups of concerned volunteers who peacefully protest against puppy mills to bring about change. In conjunction with educational tools for adults and children this group is making a difference towards the treatment and overpopulation of dogs in our world today.
In addition to puppy mill awareness Harley’s House of Hope provides rescue and rehoming of senior dogs.
I have see first hand over many years the little souls they save an nurture back to health then find the forever home they well deserve.. a nonprofit we need an should never get rid of.. bless them all!
Best rescue I have ever worked with. They really care about the pets they rescue. Before they go to forever homes they take care of any medical needs that they may have. When they go to their forever home, they go with a care package of goodies. I always keep in contact and give them updates.
Ive been following this group since harley was still alive, it touched my heart in a way nothing else ever has. He was a little one eyed chihuahua that had went through hell his entire life only to land in these two laps and have the absolute best rest of his life. He was a fighter and wanted to help other doggies in the same situation. His parents made it their mission rudy and dan to save as many dogs from puppy mills as they can and spread the word. I have in the past interacted with the people that run this mainly rudy and they are the most kind caring people ever that truly have dedicated their lives to stop puppy mills. Rescuing probably hundreds of thousands by now and taking in so many themselves that wouldnt have a chance otherwise. If everyone in the world were as kind as these people, the world would be a much better place. I Know Harley sure has left his legacy and memory in my heart and i never even met the little guy. I thank them for what they do and encourage people that are able to get involved . I know they rescue more then just chihuahuas but i own two chihuahuas that I saved and chihuahuas are the most sensitive emotional dogs and i cant even imagine EITHER of them had they had to go through the horrors of being in a puppy mill. Thank you Harleys Dream for all you do, may god bless you in your journeys and keep you and all the puppy mill survivors safe
I have been involved with Harley's Dream almost since it began. Rudi, Dan and Michele are very trustworthy and I feel confident when I donate money. I know it is used well and for all the right purposes as described in their statement. They use safe donation systems and I have never had a problem with security. The spinoff of Harley's House of Hope is wonderful and many discarded and ready to be euthanized dogs have been saved and now have wonderful furever homes. People flock to support these senior dogs since they know they will be taken care of by Rudi and Dan. They also receive all the necessary medical attention that they need.
I began Following the page Harley on facebook not long after he passed away. I am so grateful that his legacy lives on. His mom and dad work so hard to end the horrific puppy mill industry. It is an extremely wonderful organization and they have done so much good to spread the message of how evil puppy mills are and why this industry needs done away with. They also have saved so many wonderful dogs from being killed and given them a new lease on life.
This small wonderful rescue organization has a grand reputation. They have saved many, many dogs and continue to do so. They make sure all their rescues are seen by a vet and that diagnosis and treatment is done immediately. Can't say too many wonderful things about them!
I learned about puppy mills when I saw Harley on FB and I read his story. That was several years ago and I have been donating and purchasing their products ever since. I also purshase from Smile Amazon so Harley's Dream will receive my donations through them.
Harley's Dream staff work tirelessly to get the word out about Puppy Mills and how horrible they are.
Volunteers all across our country are getting Harley's word out about puppy mills.
As long as I'm alive I will continue to donate to Harley's Dream.
This organization is dedicated to shutting down the large, inhumane commercial breeding “factories” where living beings are considered products in an inventory. For those of us who understand how these puppy mills operate, it’s a mission that’s easy to support. Harley’s Dream volunteers do excellent fact checking. Anyone wanting to work with their state and federal representatives can ask to receive legislative materials. The package is professional and effective for anyone to use. If you want to organize a protest at a retail pet storefront, Harley’s Dream provides banners, T shirts and brochures for your team. They make it easy by empowering us to ACT. The dogs need us. We are their voice.
Harley's Dream raises money to help in efforts to end puppy mills and to rescue senior dogs facing euthanasia at animal control shelters. They hold protests at pet stores which sell dogs that are the products of puppy mills. They sell Harley's Dream merchandise with all of the money going to fight the No More Puppy Mills cause. All efforts are done by volunteers.
Harley's Dream is my chosen nonprofit. Harley's story is one of trauma, a dog who went from victim to savior which changed my perspective on the horrible condition of puppy mills.
These puppy mill dogs suffer tremendously at the hands of their captors. They have no quality of life, are abused and then discarded because they are of no use anymore. They have no real rights under the law and no voice as a result. It was his mission to instruct others, and through his message, we gladly take up the banner in his name.
Did you know that IF puppy mills didn’t exist, there would be 75% fewer dogs in shelters and rescues? Did you know that 99% of pet store puppy’s come from puppy mills? With the estimated 10,000+ puppy mills in America being the leading cause of our pet overpopulation and euthanization crisis, and having adopted several puppy mill survivors myself, I was immediately drawn to volunteer and dedicate my free time as a Harley’s Hero supporting Harley’s Dream. This amazing non-profit; HarleysDream.org wants to put an end to puppy mills by encouraging advocacy and providing the tools necessary to educate children and adults alike about the cruel commercial dog breeding industry aka; puppy mills. Their four amazing programs: Public Awareness, Education, Advocacy and Rescue offer something for everyone who supports putting an end to puppy mills. One of my favorite quotes since following Harley and Teddy (#HarleysDreamKeeper) on social media for approximately the last 5 yrs. is “Educate yourself about puppy mills so that you can educate others.” Everyone can do something to make a difference, and I believe education is key. People can’t change what they don’t know. Children can be taught in non-graphic ways about mills, adoption, and how they should never buy a puppy online or from a pet store. Keeping with #LLH, we can all educate with compassion, forgiveness and love. Encourage your friends and family to Adopt, Don’t Shop saving 2 lives at the same time by also opening up a shelter space. Let them know that these mills operate on supply VS demand and by making adoption the best option, will lower the public demand thereby eventually making puppy mills obsolete.
You too can become a Harley’s Hero and join this wonderful fun and rewarding organization where Harley “A Little Dog With A Big Dream” and 2015 AHA HERO DOG continues to be the voice for hundreds of thousands of dogs still living in puppy mills. Harley knew how they felt and he just understood , It was his mission to educate and teach everyone about puppy mills, Because of Harley and his buddy Teddy, I will spend the rest of my life fighting, to make Harley's dream come true,, Please help us put an end to puppy mills, they all deserve a loving forever home,, #Love like Harley, #Harley's Dream I am so honored to be a Harley's Hero Thank you and God bless Please help make thid dream true
Harley's Dream has touched and inspired me beyond words. After learning Harley's story, I knew I had to get involved and have never looked back. The people who lead Harley's Dream and all those involved with this incredible nonprofit at every level are dedicated, compassionate and committed to making the world a better place by ending the atrocious and inhumane treatment of puppy mill dogs! I have never been more proud to be associated with another nonprofit organization as I have been with Harley's Dream.
I have been a dog person my entire life and have loved and had my heart broken by many dogs. None so much as the one who caught my eye while scrolling on Facebook. I try to support as many dog rescues I can either monetarily or sharing their message. In August of 2017 I saw my handsome boy on a rescue sight called Texas Chihuahua Rescue. I cannot explain why I filled out the application but I did and he changed my life forever. His name was Toro and he was a street dog rescued after hurricane Harvey. He was so perfectly imperfect and I felt so blessed to have him on my life. They estimated his age to be around 13, he had no teeth and half of his bottom jaw was missing and he had an inoperable heart murmur. It didn't matter to me, I wanted to give this boy the life he deserved. They chose me and they transported him up from Texas. I drove two hours to get him, I would have driven a hundred... he just spoke to me. I picked him up on October 21st 2017 and we enjoyed 7 months together before he passed away in my arms on May 15th at 5:37am. I still weep for him but I promised him I'd save another, for him, all for him. I want to start a rescue for him and I'm in the process of saving money to buy some land but in the mean time I recused another one from the same rescue. Her name is Bailey, 13 years old and discarded by previous owners, and now I cannot imagine my life without her. From the moment I picked her up it was like she had been mine her entire life. If not for Texas Chihuahua Rescue choosing my application for Toro I would be a lesser person than I am today. In the end who really recused who?
I didn't know that puppy mills existed until I seen Harleys page, I knew I had to do whatever I can to get his message out . it's a honor to be a part of Harleys Dream.
I first became aware of Harleys Dream when little Harley won the American Humane Asc Hero Dog Award. He brought to light the horrors of puppy mills and the breeding dogs that suffer there. This is a wonderful organization spreading awareness about puppy mills and teaching people to always adopt don't shop!
I fell in love with Harley when he was running for the Hero Award. Following him I learned so much about puppy mills and how I could help. The past two years I have did a birthday fundraiser for Harleys Dream. Hopefully we will not need it soon.
I LOVE being a part of Harley's Dream and his big family of supporters that also support his dream to one day end all puppy mills! Harley was a lover and he was a forgiver. This tiny dog will make you strive to be a kinder and more compassionate person. I fell in love with him and his mission from the first time I laid eyes on him which was the 2015 Hero Dog Awards! I 100% feel that if there is a non profit that you want to feel secure about making donations to or being a part of this is the one! Your dollars will be hard at work educating the public about the plight of Puppy Mills in a non violent way. Education is the key! Along with his dream there is Harley House of Hope that is saving one senior dog at a time! Providing these sweet souls with all of the vet care and love they can stand until they are well enough to be placed in their forever home! Harley, YOU ROCK!
Since the moment I first read Harley's story in 2014 I knew I had to do something about ending puppy mills. Before that, I didn't know puppy mills existed. I can't create change alone, so along with hundreds of other volunteers and supporters, we raise awareness about the puppy mill issue. Harley's Dream believes education is the way to end suffering for mill dogs. If customers cease to support puppy mills by buying their 'products', puppy mills will cease to exist. It's the basic principle of supply and demand. As a disabled person, being involved with Harley's Dream gives me direction and a sense of purpose. I know I am contributing to a most worthwhile cause under the leadership of a nonprofit which stands for the love of dogs and each other, integrity, responsibility and positive values so desperately needed in our world today. Through Harley's Dream and it's namesake, Harley, I have made lifelong friends and become part of an extended family, who together, are making a difference to end puppy mills.
Harley and his story continue to inspire me each and every day with his determination to survive after the horrors he suffered in a puppy mill. God saved this tiny boy so others would be inspired to help him and his family educate the world about how horrific the conditions in puppy mills are. I always knew there were dog breeders on a large scale but Harley made me aware of just how horrible they truly were. He will always be my hero. Thank you Harley, Dan and Rudi and God bless you Teddy and family for continuing the fight for these precious little lives and thank you for allowing me to be a part of your journey.
I was and still am deeply moved by Harley’s story, his strength & determination even after several years. I learned about the real horrors of the puppymills and have become an advocate for Adopt Dont Shop, as well as shutting down the pet stores that sell them and boycotting the cruelest millers, the Amish. I suppirtbthe great works down by thos organization.
My experience with Harley's Dream has truly been inspiring to me on a daily basis. Every day, I've learned to strife to be a better me. Harley has taught me to keep going. He made it through the most difficult time in his little life to go on to save many dogs from puppy mills. He and his sidekick, Teddy, didn't let their life in the mills shut them down or destroy them. Rising above the difficulties is everything. If there is life, there is a glimmer of hope. Angel Harley grabbed it and preserved. He had a wonderful 5 years longer with his loving Mom and Dad. Through them all, the word spread about the horrors of puppy mills. I will always love and be grateful to Harley.
Learned all about puppy mills from Harley. By sharing his story, I know others have learned about puppy mills. Harley is known all over the world and his fight will continue until there are no more!!!!!
