Recently, I encountered changes in my life that made it necessary to find new homes for my horses. I would not be able to keep them any longer. One had taken care of my daughter as a young rider 20 years ago. The other was his sweet companion who had been saved from a solitary existence in a backyard. I loved both of them and needed to find a home that would truly care for them. I had heard horror stories of the cruelty that can befall unwanted horses. I even considered euthanasia to spare horrific endings for them.
A chance meeting with C.C. changed everything for me and the horses. She was able to find caring homes for both of them. I truly appreciate her work with Happy Endings for the peace of mind she has given me.

Happy Endings is the most loving and caring place for animals who have been through neglect and abuse, to help them learn to trust that they will be cared for and loved.

Happy Endings Sanctuary has been life saving for one horse and two burros that were starving x neglected … I had been buying feed for them and the feed has gone up considerably … we were having a difficult time on a fixed income

The experience I have had with this wonderful organization is twofold! First I have seen how passionate, caring, and loving CC Beaudette-Wellman is with each of the rescue animals she takes in at the Happy Endings Animal Rescue Sanctuary. CC and her team work together diligently to ensure that each rescue animal gets the best care that they deserve!

Another way I have experienced Happy Endings Animal Rescue Sanctuary is by taking my students on an educational field trip to the location. My students learned about the rescue animals, especially the rescue horses, and toured the facilities. CC made such an impression on some of my students that they returned to volunteer for the program. That tells you it is an exceptional program!

I give this rescue 10 of 5 stars!!! This rescue goes beyond anything for the animals. I needed some help with some neglected horses and she always was there to support the animals in need. Her networking is amazing and she will do whatever it takes. Her heart is beating for the animals!

CeCe helped rescue a neglected stallion the owner was starving and left in a pen full of mud up to his knees. She saved his life

This equine rescue has been essential to the welfare of some of the horses and owners who have found themselves in dire need in our community. From the pandemic to major fire disasters and economic shifts over the years, whatever happens, Happy Endings has been there to provide support. It might be by providing a month of hay to someone in a difficult situation, or covering an urgent healthcare related vet bill for someone in order to make sure their horse does not go without the care it needs, or taking on a senior horse after it’s owner died. This charity is beloved and appreciated - and lovingly supported by our community. As a recipient of support for a vet bill during the pandemic, I recently was able to pay that money back as agreed, and I’m now in a position to pay it forward to someone else with a horse in need. We can all find ourselves in a position of need - it’s charities like this one that fill that gap, and weave the social fabric of community while they are at it. Deep gratitude!

Happy endings animal rescue sanctuary is an amazing home for animals in need. CC and her team are obsessively dedicated to caring for their animals and giving them the best life possible. The animals who end up there may have had a rough past but every last one of them is guaranteed to have an amazing future.

CC always has the needs of the animals in her care as the priority. She is tenacious when it comes to getting the care the animal needs. Her sanctuary rescue is very well organized, and the tasks for the volunteers are very clear. Safety for all is a priority when working with the animals or doing the barn chores. She appreciates her volunteers and she lets them know it;- which results in them wanting to return again and again. Not only do I feel satisfied after one of her animals has a session with me, but I also feel appreciated.

Happy Endings Animal Rescue Sanctuary is a blessing to our community. C.C. Wellman, Founder and Executive Director, is an exceptional animal advocate and educator who shares her knowledge and skills with at risk youth.

As a Co-Founder and Executive Director of a 501 c 3 organization benefiting foster youth, C.C. and I collaborated to form an educational equine program for at risk children.

During the weekly program the children learned how to responsibly care for a horse, experienced hands on grooming skills, created t-shirt art, and listened to the stories of how the horses were safely rescued. There were also lunches, swimming, and laughter.

I have known Ci ci Wellman as a friend and a tireless person for the animals in need. Im aware of the hours days months and years that she spends seeing that these animals are taken care of with the most respect and care If there is anyplace I would love to be if I was an animal in need it would be Happy Endings

When my elderly neighbor passed away, I was very concerned for her two retired thoroughbred mares. The mares had been handled very little in the past several years due to their owner’s ill health. Then CeeCee of Happy Endings Rescue stepped in! She brought the mares up to date on deworming and vaccines, had their teeth and hooves addressed and started working to find them a home. Given their age, soundness issues and lack of handling, I didn’t think a happy ending was possible but Happy Endings Rescue made it possible!!! I was especially impressed that the rescue sent over an experienced trainer to reintroduce the mares to a trailer prior to the time they were to travel to their new home. This rescue is organized, professional, knows animals and cares deeply!!

Happy Endings Animal Rescue Sanctuary takes amazing care of so many animals that need help & have nowhere else to go. Each rescue is loved & cared for like a member of their own family.

Happy Endings has such an important role in the life of a horse. These horses need a place to live out their life.
Happy Endings is also a Hub of information for owners that can’t afford feed or need to rehome.
They work so hard day and night, true integrity all the way. Honest and compassionate.

I have known C C for many years. She has helped me with situations with removing & relocating animals subject to continued cruelty. She has advised me in different situations as to where the best care would be given to an animal, or foul. The sanctuary has always been well kept, if not by others, it would be C C out there raking manure & carrying feed with everybody’s supplements .. made “to order”!
Her mother was a grand lady that obviously instilled in her daughter the compassion & respect these beautiful creatures deserve.

All the animals at Happy Endings Sanctuary are so well taken care of that if they could talk they wouldn't ever want to leave. CC goes above and beyond to care for all the animals at HEARS. She has so much compassion that it truly shows. Any animal is extremely lucky to be loved by her!

Happy Endings provides a loving environment for horses that have been abandoned, no longer wanted, or simply needing a peaceful sanctuary for a natural end of life. I have happy memories of the many ponies and horses that gave me great joy during their lives and that is why I donate to Happy Endings so that other horses may enjoy their twilight years.

I love to volunteer my time to such a worthy organization. The work that Happy Endings Animal Rescue Sanctuary accomplishes with the abused and neglected animals is amazing. They can arrive scared and weak and they make a turn and start to trust ,through the caring and love they are shown. The horses are then able to return that unconditional love. It warms my heart to give my time to help these wonderful animals.

CC is one of the most conscientious owners of a rescue that I know! She is scrupulous in her care of the animals and the facility is always clean and neat. She takes in all sorts of animals, but only if she is able to house, feed and care for them properly. She also works with children to teach them to love animals as much as she does! So much greatness to even begin with an opening statement. C.C. Wellman is the most dedicated, motivated, hard working woman who has spent most of her life working and caring for animals who did not receive the love and affection they deserve. That kind of love is true and real. The property is amazing and very clean, the animals are brushed and loved everyday and it is such a special place to be.

We just sold our ranch on the south coast and needed to find a home for our "pasture buddy" horse Roman. I contacted Happy Endings Animal Rescue Sanctuary in Solvang. C.C. asked me a few questions and worked with me on finding a suitable home for the horse. With in several weeks I got a call and Roman had a new home! Very happy to know he is going to a great home with the help of an organization that genuinely has the horse's well being at the forefront.

Happy endings has been a wonderful advocate and supporter during the Covid-19 crisis. Our business is responsible for the care of 8 draft horses, many with special needs. When we were unable to work and our income was cut off, CC stepped up and donated feed to make sure our horses were taken care off during this challenging time. Throughout the years I have also seen CC be active in advocating for healthy animal-human relationships, whether they be working horses, companion pets, or animals that are neglected or abandoned. Happy Endings Animal Sanctuary is a much needed resource in the Santa Ynez Valley.

Most genuine people here! They just want the best for these animals and the animals get the best care that you can imagine!!

About 13 years ago we adopted 2 kittens from Happy Endings. Emma and Sam. Sam unfortunately passed away with a urinary infection, but we still have crazy Emma who is still a shy one, but we love and are very happy with her. . Happy Endings does great work and they really care. I would recommend them anytime.

Happy Endings is an organization that is helping all animals in need but, given their location, their rescues are predominantly equine. Horses unfortunately are often misunderstood, people not realizing the cost and demands of their care. All too often they are surrendered, abandoned or abused and, unlike dogs and cats, their needs are more difficult to address, both physically and financially. Founder C.C. Beaudette-Wellman along with compassionate volunteers ensure these beautiful creatures are well fed, sheltered in a clean and protective environment, receive the proper grooming, shoeing, dental care and veterinary attention they require. At the same time, their charges are paired with children who are dealing with foster situations and abandonment issues as well, providing an opportunity to heal for both the horse and the child. As the young student learns about the their magnificent animal and its needs, the horse benefits from the kind attentions of a child who finds a friend and confidante. It is heart-warming to see both open up and respond to this loving relationship. I am a strong advocate for Happy Endings Animal Rescue Sanctuary.

I have been a donor to Happy Endings Animal Rescue Sanctuary ever since I moved to the Santa Ynez Valley in 2011. C.C., her staff, and volunteers are dedicated to the care of all domestic animals, but C.C.'s devotion to the horses living at the Sanctuary is truly amazing. It has been an honor to be involved in financially assisting C.C. in everything she does including the Rehabilitation Program, Sanctuary Program, and now the Horse Angels Program which includes at risk children. This is truly a top drawer organization in everything they do.

Happy Endings is a beautiful place that provides the best possible care for their animals. C.C. and her family are wonderful stewards of the land, the community and the horses. Happy Endings is such a great non-profit. If you could see the compassion & patience held by everyone who works there, you would understand how awesome they are. They truly have a passion for what they do. If I lived closer I would volunteer there.

I have been to Happy Endings Animal Rescue Sanctuary many times as a volunteer and to visit the animals. The animals are all treated with respect, kindness, and love and the grounds are kept clean and hazard-free. I have also worked closely with the CEO to write grants and develop organizational budgets. I can personally vouch for the fact that 100% of the money coming in goes directly to the care, feeding, and medical attention for the animals, mainly horses, that Happy Endings cares for. C.C. Wellman has worked miracles bringing some of these back from near-starvation and serious medical challenges. She spares no expense providing the very best in nutrition and medical care. This organization has restored my faith in non-profits doing exactly what they claim they do.

My mom died and left several horses, and I knew there was only ONE place for them to go...with C.C. at HEARS. I have known C.C. for many decades and her commitment to animals has been unwavering, despite any circumstances or obstacles. Every time I've visited over many many years, I've witness nothing but the best conditions and clearly happy animals. My mom knew C.C. since she was very young, my mom was a horse lady inside and out, and she said C.C. is the only place for her horses to go. HEARS was full of horses at the time but C.C> figured something out to make it work! My Mom, Sister and I have experienced the incredible love, devotion and pleasure C.C. gets from caring for animals, and for me, there is no better place that HEARS.

I’ve personally experienced the excellent care and love this organization provide for their animals, while finding them the ideal new long term love and home.

As an equine rescuer/healer/trainer, I can tell you that Happy Endings is a great example of what responsible rescue is. I've personally been to this sanctuary and visited with the horses. The grounds are spotless, all of the horses are happy, and C.C. also helps with local children to teach them about the love and healing that horses offer. Not only does she rescue horses in need, but she is also active in the community; helping horses that she personally can't take, but networking to find them homes with other rescues or horse owners. When you meet C.C., her love for horses, and all of the animals in her care, is crystal clear. She has devoted her life to these animals and they come first. I highly recommend this sanctuary.

How can you even begin to describe the people that volunteer there? So compassionate and loving. It really makes you want to save every living animal. Wish I had the time and energy to do what they do. Much love to them!!

So many "rescues" take in a very specific sort of animal--usually ones that can be easily rehomed or sold--while letting the animals that truly need a soft place to land are passed over. This is done so that the 'rescue' can flip said animal for either no financial loss or very little loss.
Happy Endings is not one of these 'rescues', but rather a TRUE rescue intent on helping animals in need. Sometimes, this rescue is more of a sanctuary where the very difficult to place stay until they pass. The facilities are clean and well-kept and the animals are all blessed with the very best care, love and groceries.

I worked with horses at HEARS for many years and can say that CC loves all the animals that come there and works hard to provide them all the best of care. She is full of enthusiasm for what she does and she passes that enthusiasm on to others. HEARS is not only saving the lives of the animals that they have rescued, but is also educating the public to help protect countless other animals. A truly wonderful organization!

After an extremely stressful divorce I found myself unable to care for my ponies who were full brother & sister. Happy Endings Animal Rescue Sanctuary came to my rescue. My ponies were loved by me, however, had been abused in my previous situation and CC came to our rescue and offered a safe and loving home for them. I don't know what I would have done without this wonderful program coming to our aide.

The founder is amazing she works tirelessly to help the animals and educate the community. This is a great asset to our community. In all my experience working with animal rescue sanctuaries I have never seen more compassion and respect given to the animals than at Happy Endings. I have spent a number of years now working with horses and dogs that have come to H.E. with issues from either being neglected or abused and watched them heal, if it weren't for C.c and her Sanctuary these animals would not be alive today or would possibly never have experienced any kindness in their lives. Happy Endings is truly dedicated to the lives of animals and every cent donated goes their care.

Recently, this organization was involved in the rescue of a group of badly neglected horses, and when I say "involved" I mean boots on the ground: Locating the herd, convincing the owner to relinquish the animals, trailering them to where they would be safe and caring for them until they could get their health back and be placed in loving homes. All this was done on faith because like most grassroots non-profits, Happy Endings does its crucial work for animals on the faith that the funds needed will appear. On my 60th birthday, I had my friends donate to Happy Endings in lieu of buying me a gift, and knowing their donations were going to such a fine organization was the best gift I could receive. Happy Endings is a Godsend for animals in need and deserve all the support they can get.

This is a truly wonderful organization...it's great that every penny goes to the animals, AND, I have never seen such dedication by so many fantastic people to our furry friends. Keep up the superb work!

If you have ever had a pet you then know what good things that Happy Endings does. Taking in the pets that people can no longer care for and finding them new homes takes a lot of time and energy. C.C. is wonderful in both areas. Not only does the animal have a great home to come to while waiting for an adoption but C.C. and all the workers make sure the animal is loved and cared for and goes to a good home. This is a great organization that is kept going with lots of love and good old fashioned hard work. Lots of love is the key to keeping the animals happy. This is one place where working with the animals makes the people as happy as the animals.

I have helped this sanctuary by holding benefits and am thrilled to note that they do an excellent job on all levels. This sanctuary has helped so many animals and has done a fabulous job of matching the animals that are adopted to the people they most need and vice-versa. This organization is extremely honest and trustworthy and I am proud to help them whenever I am able!

Happy Endings is rightly named by C.C. Wellman Bueadette the President. This extradinary women is very knowledgeable about animals, their needs and behaviors. I have observed the care at Happy Endings close hand and was so amazed at the dedication of all the people invloved in the day to day care and exercising of the aninals. What impressed me the most was the dedication to make sure each rescued aninal went to the right home so it would truely be a happy ending. I am a happy receipant of a parrot from Happy Endings.

I work off and on as a volunteer at Happy Endings. Their dedication, love and passion for these animals is a moving experience for me. The animals are treated like family members and are always put first in every situation. Renovations to the sanctuary are being made regularly to help keep the safety and comfort of the animals at its best. The animals are friendly and well cared for and I couldn't think of anywhere I would rather volunteer.
