Mission: Hampton roads green building council (hrgbc) is organized and operated exclusively for religious, charitable, scientific, literary, and/or educational purposes including, for such purposes, the making of distributions to organizations that qualify as exempt organizations under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code. Without limiting or expanding the foregoing, the specific purpose of hrgbc is to educate and raise awareness within the public of green building principles and practices by the general public and the design, construction,and real estate community and to provide a forum for the general public and the design, construction, and real estate community to exchange scientific and educational information regarding green building principles and practices, all with an ultimate goal of encouraging the general public to invest time, energy, and resources toward the implementation of green building strategies to better protect and sustain the natural and built environment.
Programs: Conducted seminars and workshops to teach the methods, processes and benefits of "green building" to the general public and the council's members. "green building" teaches designs, construction and operations that decrease greenhouse gas emissions through the design, development and implementation of environmental sustainable, energy efficient and resource conserving building practices, technology and processes.
This organization's nonprofit status may have been revoked or it may have merged with another organization or ceased operations.
