Mission: To bring the pleasure, power and relevance of classic theater to the widest possible audience through its main stage and community outreach productions and education programs.
Programs: Great lakes theater produces plays of william shakespeare and other classical playwrights. During the 2010-2011 season, five plays were presented to the community, including "othello," "an ideal husband," "a christmas carol," "the complete works of william shakespeare: abridged," and "the two gentlemen of verona. " a total of 48,075 people attended the public performances and student matinees.
student education program: actors visit schools and provide discussion and analysis of plays presented by glt. A total of 603 classrooms in 81 schools were visited, reaching approximately 15,423 students.
