Causes: Education
Mission: Driving educational excellence for all colorado students by harnessing the power of grassroots activism and stimulating wise investment in colorado's pubic schools, colleges, and universities.
Programs: Outreach/public education/awareness - efforts to engage and/or educate citizens about public education funding by preparing power point presentations, handouts, speaking engagements and communications for newsletters. Also includes working with, supporting and recruiting volunteers.
policy initiatives - learning about policy initiatives, primarily at the state level, which could have a direct or indirect impact on resources for public education, and informing citizens about such policy initiatives and their relationships to state laws and current practice.
coalitions - educating and informing members of the coalitions that great ed staffs; providing options to mobilize coalition members to advocate publicly about the need for an education system that will successfully prepare every student to be ready for the world.
direct public policy advocacy - initiating communication with state legislators about specific legislation or initiating legislative discussions regarding public education reform and resources. Additionally, urging supporters to vote in a particular way regarding a ballot measure in a general election. Grassroots public policy advocacy - communicating to great education colorado supporters about state legislative topics and suggesting or giving supporters options to contact legislators to indicate their views.
