Causes: Goodwill Industries, Job Training
Mission: The georgia goodwill association was formed to uniformly present goodwill's mission across the state of georgia; to facilitate communications among the goodwill industries entities in georgia; to formulate means for goodwill industries to assist each other with local opportunities and needs each may have; to create one voice for negotiation and communication of contracts and services with other entities for the entire state.
Programs: Using the economic impact model developed and administered by elliott pollack in 2015, the four georgia goodwills placed 31,920 people into jobs in 2017, creating a ripple effect through the economy for a total of 34,891 direct, indirect and induced jobs. Total wages via direct, indirect and induced jobs were $317. 8 million, with a total economic output of $994. 0 million in job placements alone. All factors considered, including the economic impact of placements, operations and construction, the total revenue generated for the state of georgia was nearly $28. 2 million. Using the economic impact model, we can better communicate to community leaders, funders, representatives and/or legislators the powerful impact goodwill has on their local economy and throughout the entire state of georgia.
