I am proud to be a volunteer for Columbus Hospice of Georgia and Alabama. Whether I am entering data, answering phones, stuffing envelopes, baking and selling cookies, or helping at Kids Camp, I know my time is valued by this organization. The employees always express their gratitude to me. But most important, whenever I tell someone in the community that I volunteer for hospice, they start telling me how wonderful Columbus Hospice was for their family when they were losing a loved one. The last person told me how great it is to have her husband's recorded voice telling his life story. Our organization made that happen.

What a joy to be able to volunteer for such a wonderful organization with great staff who never pressure you, provide the training needed and in many ways show that they value you! It's even better to be able to provide services to those in need and are always appreciative even though they may not always be able to express it. Also, the Columbus Hospice House is such an inviting place for employees, staff, volunteers, patients and families. Everyone is so caring and the house is so comfortable, clean, nicely decorated and serene.

I have recently become a volunteer team member of the Columbus Hospice Volunteer Program. Along with myself, various family members and friends being proud veterans, I am deeply humbled and appreciative of Columbus Hospice’s participation in the National “We Honor Veterans” program. Thank You!

Everyone works tirelessly to help patients. They also have the Pet Peace of Mind Program to help patients with their pets. No one else does this and patients are so grateful that their 4-legged family members are taken care of too. You can always count on Columbus Hospice to be there when you need them. They go over and above what is needed for everyone.

I have been volunteering for Columbus Hospice for 15 years...I have had the most amazing and heart-warming experiences with patients and their families. The staff are so appreciative of the volunteers and make sure we all know it! Several family members of patients have become volunteers after seeing the wonderful care their loved ones received....they want to give back to this organization in a meaningful way.

Columbus Hospice are absolutely the best people I could imagine to take care of my dad as well as our family in the final months of his life. I don’t know of kinder, more genuine people than this group. I couldn’t have created better people to enter our lives. I can never say thank you enough.
