Mission: Friends of the haven was formed to provide financial and volunteer support to further the activities of the haven, whose charter is to provide a safe, empowering and enriching environment for women and their children.
Programs: The university of colorado school of medicine operates the haven. Friends of the haven grants money annually to the university of colorado foundation for the benefit of the haven. The haven's and the baby haven's goal is to be a place where women can recover from addictions and co-occuring mental illness, deliver healthy, drug-free infants (if pregnant), improve parenting skills and receive quality early educational services for their children, maintain and build upon cultural and family connections as sources of social support, and become self-sufficient, confident, and productive members of our community. Friends of the haven, with generous gifts from donors, renovated and furnished building 18 on the fort logan campus as transitional housing for 15 women and their children who are completing residential treatment. It has been named the lighthouse, and was completed and occupied in november of 2016. Friends of the haven continued to award the treatment scholarships to the women in treatment at haven in 2017, $13,000 worth of treatment scholarships were awarded. The funds were raised by rising star luncheon.
