Mission: fresh art, founded in 1997, was formed to give New York City artists with special needs the opportunity to be recognized for their talent and creativity, instead of merely for the obstacles they face in their lives. fresh art connects with social service and community art programs to offer their artists exhibition opportunities, technical assistance and entrepreneurial training. fresh art also works to enhance public awareness of the talent of these artists, the work of their agencies, and the use of art as a tool for healing, growth and positive change. fresh art's goal is to establish the city's first gallery and creative support services center for special needs artists.
