Causes: Arts & Culture, Theater
Mission: A children's theatre established on the philosophy that the organization would develop poise and better diction (in children) through dramatic classes; produce at least one play each year; and awaken enthusiasm for beauty in art and integrity in dramatic literature. At 83 years, the fort wayne youtheatre is the third oldest children's theatre in the nation!
Programs: The youtheatre produced five theatrical performances in fiscal year 2017 that incorporate children's classic literature. The performances are performed throughout northeast indiana counties in schools, libraries, day cares, retirement homes, and various youth organizations and reached approximately 6,500 people in fy 2017. The theatre also provides classes and camps for youth in dance, comedy, radio, drama, song, tech, and stage production. In fy 2017 the theatre enrolled over 362 children in their classes and summer/winter camps.
