Mission: Established in 1996, First Look began as an idea scribbled down on a napkin in a Greek diner. Today, First Look is still dedicated to promoting and providing opportunities for community service among Birmingham area high school students. First Look is currently working with 13 area schools, teaching a variety of workshops we have developed on issues surrounding community service. First Look administers these workshops in the high schools with the assistance of young adult volunteer leaders, college students from the area, as well as businessmen from Birmingham. First Look strives every day to live up to its mission of both educating high school students on community service and providing them with the means to become active in the community. It is First Look's strong belief that: Today's youth volunteer is tomorrow's community leader.
