Film Forum continues its long-standing work as one of the few remaining revival movie houses in NYC. In addition it continues to show new and adventuresome movies from all over the world. As if that weren't enough it maintains a weekend oasis of child-friendly, classic movies. As a bonus it provides educational summaries of its movies in its printed schedules. All of this without any affiliation with a supporting parent. It's independent and is supported by its adoring members and patrons. A gem!

I've been a member of FF for more than 20 years and it has never let me down. Its schedule is reliable, creative and adventurous. It exists because it delivers a unique combination of movie history and contemporary movie-making. It isn't supported by big movie chains or deadly institutional behemoths like Lincoln Center. It has continuity of management. Even its food concession is neat. We're lucky to have them.
