Spring for music 2012 took place in may 2012, with concerts by six north american orchestras: alabama symphony orchestra, edmonton symphony orchestra, houston symphony, milwaukee symphony orchestra, nashville symphony and new jersey symphony orchestra. These six orchestras were chosen from over 25 applications in the summer of 2010, and their selection was based on the creativity and imagination of the programs submitted. The second spring for music festival attracted unprecedented press attention for the quality of the concerts, the creativity of the programs, the liveliness of the audiences, and the importance of the message.
