Causes: Family Planning, Health, Reproductive Rights
Mission: The mission of the family planning center of ocean county, inc. Is to increase community awareness about the benefits of reproductive health care and disease prevention through education, program activities and services. We are committed to ensuring access to quality reproductive health care services and to increasing positive health outcomes by improving the overall health status among women, adolescents and families in ocean county, regardless of their financial status.
Programs: Family planning center of ocean county (fpcoc) provides access to high quality, comprehensive family planning and reproductive health care services to all women in ocean county, especially the uninsured and the underinsured. In 2017 fpcoc provided medical services to 2,230 people. Educationally fpcoc had the opportunity to speak to 3,633 people. Fpcoc continued participation in the new jersey cancer education and early detection program (njceed) sponsored by community medical center continues to be very rewarding. This worthwhile screening program provides income-eligible, uninsured women ages 50-64 with a breast and pelvic exam, pap smear, and mammography free of charge. Fpcoc remains at the forefront of women's healthcare in our area. Fpcoc is in a very strong position to respond to the growing reproductive healthcare needs of ocean county women and families. Fpcoc is always looking for new opportunities to expand the scope of services by collaborating with area health care agencies, civic organizations, religious entities, local churches, middle schools, high schools, colleges, and faith-based organizations in our service area.
