I have been a member of save for quite a few years. .we have nothing but caring dedicated people who love these animals and do the best we can.some of you with negative reviews, please come a walk a mile in our shoes...kittens out of dumpsters puppies from high kill shelters, the beautiful kitten who we have to take to be euthanized due to your neglect and uncaring
We adopted our cat from SAVE about a year and a half ago and couldn't be more in love with him. Thank you to SAVE for giving him a home for the almost two years it took for us to find him :).
SAVE has wonderful, caring, dedicated volunteers who put the animals first. I fostered, then adopted a dog about a year ago from them & they always got right back to me when I had any questions or concerns. They provided as much knowledge as they could about our dog and paid hundreds of dollars in medical bills when we fostered. They truelly love what they do! I like that they screen potential adopters (and do vet checks) to make sure the animal will be well taken care of & the pet will be a good match. They will be honest in their opinions and I respect that since their goal is for the pet to be placed in a loving, forever home. I definitely support this group. They work very hard to save lives and give these furbabies loving homes. They are excellent & I would adopt from them again.
S.A.V.E. has come to my rescue more than once. They did so years ago when their organization was much smaller and I began a family of house cats that included four that were trapped and neutered and released into my house! Years later, because of lack of cooperation of other neighbors in neutering cats in their yards, I had again grown a colony of dependent ferals and another organization that was helping me, bailed out on me when I was most in need of help because added to the emphysema I already had and other health issues, I now was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer. I was desperate to complete the neutering of my ferals and if possible to find some way to care for both my indoor and outdoor cats should I pass away. I called everyone I could think of and everybody turned me down, most of them saying they did not handle ferals and could not provide for them when I was gone. Women from the cancer society at Community Hospital, people with service dogs there, and several enthusiastic patients, two of whom were my roommates in the hospital, all said to call S.A.V.E. and how kind, compassionate, wonderful and PERSISTENT they are! I got in touch with my old friend, Joan D. from S.A.V.E. and spoke with a couple of other ladies that work with them and they went to work. They have been working on completing the trapping and neutering, treating my ferals with the same concern I have had for them personally. They have even helped me with my indoor cats and are taking an active part in the final solution to the care of my animals in case my cancer treatments don't do the trick. They are amazing, hardworking, compassionate to the animals and the people who love them and go far beyond the call of duty to help and provide workable solutions for the animals and their owners, including many times providing medical care and other remedies for situations that would seem to have no answer for those in poor health with serious financial restrictions. I pray for them daily.
We adopted our dog two years ago and they were great. Sensitive to our other dog and helpful in socializing both of them together. Great rescue group!
9 years ago, a cat had 5 kitten under my deck. Save came and took care of them, 1 was very sick, her mother left her to die, and I took her into my home, and contact S.A.V.E.. S.A.V.E. not only took care of the 4 kitten, but they also paid and help me care for the sick one, it's took almost 3 months and a lot of meds, the kitten only weigh 15oz, and had upper respiratory problems , and the doc didn't think she would live. My baby is 9 yrs old, and is a blessing to me. My other baby died last year, he was 23 yrs old, and S.A.V.E. also helped me to try and save him, but God needed him, RIP my beautiful Marlin. For the past 2 yrs I been fostering kittens, and S.A.V.E. paids for everything, food, litter, meds and vet. I trust S.A.V.E with all my heart, they helped me so much with my babies, and they never said no, they are the most loving, caring people I know, they treat every animal as if they were their own, showing each one with love. Sincerely, Linda Tassaro
We adopted from SAVE twice and would do so again!! The volunteers there really care for the pets in their care.
My family adopted from SAVE in February, & have been involved with this awesome organization ever since. We 1st adopted a puppy, then my son & I started volunteering, which led to fostering & adopting 2 more. Both my daughters love to volunteer now too. We go in & clean and care for animals once a week, plus foster. This is a great rescue-everyone is so caring for the animals, & the volunteers. It is like a big family we are proud to be part of!
I can't praise the save rescue group enough! They were so warm and inviting when I came to see the cats and dogs up for adoption at the fischer blvd site! I am also an animal lover and was so pleased to see how well they are cared for! They told me about my dog that I adopted and had pictures of her up on line! They explained everything about what she had been doing and eating and met her foster family and was able to ask them questions! It was a wonderful experience, and I tell all my family and friends about this dedicated organization! I hope more people go there to adopt through my personal experience!! Thank you SAVE rescue group! Love you Joan!♡
As everyone knows , there were huge amounts of homeless pets after Storm Sandy. Many local rescues stepped up to find their owners or another home for them. I faced the horrific task of not only finding our family home destroyed but the task to rebuild. I would follow the animal rescue web pages to see the progress of either reuniting a pet or finding them a loving family. I happened to see SAVE in toms River page. It appeared that this small, group was amazing in their dedication. Of course one cat caught my attention. Since he was at the Fischer blvd site, I made an apt to see him. Now I will also say that I am involved in animal, rescue and fostering up in North Jersey. My application was throughly reviewed, my vet called and verified. I appreciated the extra mile this group did in the attempt to find Rocco a loving home. Even though I knew the routine, everything about him, his previous care , food etc was explained to me. This is not an easy job, it requires many selfless hours, sometimes heartache. All the people from this group go above and beyond. I was provide phone numbers to call if I had a problem . I even received a call to make sure he was adjusting to his new family and siblings. I will support this group in every way possible. Perhaps if someone had a different experience , then maybe they felt the family and animal wasn't a good fit. there are many questions on the application for a reason. Toys r us can be an impulse buy but an animal becomes a family member.
I have dealt with save for awhile, and I have nothing negative to say. They love the animals like they were their own. Loving caring and kind hearted people. All volunteers are very pleasant to deal with. They give all the information asked about the animals and if the volunteer doesn't know the answer to a question they give you information where you can further get information about them.
All the individuals here are sweet, kind and VERY knowledgeable about all the animals in the facility. They bond with the animals and care for them as their own. When an animal gets adopted they take all the right steps and go above and beyond to make sure the animal is going to a amazing forever home. They would never give below standards or be untrustworthy. I know everyone in this group and they take pride in their actions all that is done is for the safety of the animals . I will personally vouche for them and say help out the innocent animals give them a forever home ,you will have nothing but a honest ,loving experience with them.
What a wonderful group of people running this organization. We have three adopted rescues from SAVE and have always admired their efforts and care if all their animals. Their facility is clean, the animals well cared for and they have always been there for us with any questions or concerns we may have with regards to our rescues especially our special needs CH kitty. Joan is a true blue animal lover! Can't say enough about her! She even pets sits for our CH! We know Joan and the wonderful angels at SAVE put all the animals at SAVE first and fight tirelessly for them by being their voice. I will always adopt from SAVE.
I have adopted 3 cats from SAVE and have nothing but praise for this rescue. They take excellent care of the animals in their rescue and have always been very pleasant to deal with. They are a group of caring, loving people who always do the best they can for the animals in their care. I would definitely adopt from them again.
Adopted our pup from Save a little over a month ago. All the volunteers were extremely helpful and provided us with every bit of information they could on our pup. Our family has had nothing but an amazing experience with SAVE. They are caring souls whose only agenda is to find forever homes for their animals.
I've known these people for a long time and they are absolutely trustworthy, and really care for animals, and don't seek profit whatsoever, just the opposite.
They are caring, compassionate and honest, and they put animals' best interest first. Always.
And this is a surprisingly rare thing to be found in the world of animal rescue.

We were so disheartened to read this. This was either written by accident for another group s.a.v.e. or written out of spite. It is obvious to us it is not one of our volunteers because we have the most awesome and dedicated volunteers who know exactly how much we do for the pets in our care, and how honest we are with potential owners. When we adopt we adopt for life and that cant be done without full disclosure.
